The majority of people on here have never seen these diseases. I was from a family of 8 and chicken pox, measles and mumps ran through all of us. Not a fun time at all. I will say getting Mono trumped all of them. That was the worse thing I went through and I thought I was never going to be well again.

I am going threw this same thing right now. I am pregnant and not sure what to do. My bother almost died from getting vaccinations so when my sister and I were born my mom never vaccinated us at all and we have NEVER had an issue. My sister is 40 and I'm 33. I have a 11 year old daughter that only got a few shots as a small child than I stopped mostly cause my mom wigged out on me for giving them to her but she has never had an issue either. I just can't believe how many shots they want your child to have over the years it's like 70 or so shots! Back when I was a kid it was only about 5 shots! 5 seems normal not 70! I don't know what to do with this baby? I will be a stay at home mom so don't have to worry about daycare. I have read about all the horror stories of shots and it scares me. Not to mention what they did to my own brother. I think that some people can handle them fine and others can not. Supposedly Doctors and whoever else involved don't have to report vaccine injuries. So we don't even know how many kids have bad reactions.

I had chicken pox in first grade, it was horrible! Between the asthma and the chicken pox, I was a hurting little unit.

A friend of mine got mono and missed like two months of school, she was sick as a dog the whole time too.

If you can miss out on that stuff, why wouldn't you?

I delayed chicken pox vax for my kids and here is why.   Most people who get it end up with lifelong immunity and won't get it again. They're not sure how long the vax lasts...10 years?  15?   It wears off tho unless you end up with the actual disease from getting vaxed (it's a live attenuated virus).  Chicken pox are way worse in adults than in children.  So what happens when these kids grow up and don't keep up with immunizations, as most will not?  I had it, as did most other people I know and it sucked but wasn't THAT bad.

My sister went through childhood without ever catching it, but had to get the vaccine when she was 21 and went to work in the NICU. She got chicken pox from the shot.  Btw, getting the cp vax doesn't prevent you getting shingles. I think they told people that at first but it turned out they were wrong.

Me neither! I did have a tetanus shot as a kid but only after a rusty horseshoe nail went threw my foot. I would just hate for my baby to be the one that reacts badly to vaccines. Everyone who is completely for vaccines have never been close to someone who was negatively affected by them. What if your child died from receiving them? Or got severe mental issues from them and was never normal? As of right now I'm not completely for or against them. I don't understand why they have to have all those other chemicals in them either. If you look up the ingredients in them it's very disturbing. Mouse brains is even an ingredient it's under a different name but that just gross!

Why wouldn't you immunize?

Every disease that there is a vaccine for is important.

What are you afraid of?

Thimerisol causing autism? This is total crap, as single dose vaccines don't contain thimerisol. In Canada no child's vaccine has a preservative in it.

Do you think the vaccines will weaken the immune system? It actually builds memory cells so if your child does come into contact with the disease they will develop antibodies to fight it. Also the research shows that a child can withstand 1000 different immunizations in a day without it effecting their immune system.

Do you want to allow your child outside to play? Tetanus is everywhere in the dirt, all it takes is one little scratch (rosebushes can transmit tetanus if you get pricked) left untreated can cause death.

Meningitis, there was a girl in southern alberta who wasn't vaccinated for meningitis and she died, the parents were beyond stupid as they never took their child to a doctor, but they actually were charged and found guilty of failing to provide the necessities of life for a minor, they are awaiting sentencing.

Whooping cough, we are seeing more and more of this in our area, and it is actually the adults giving it to the kids and causing the kids to be readmitted back into hospital. The damage to the lungs is like playing Russian roulette, some can never come off of oxygen, some die.

Diptheria lives in our nose, all it takes if for our body to get run down and we can develop diphtheria,

Hepatitis, if you ever want your child to have dental work, it would be a good idea, as they are finding more and more hospitals and dentist offices that had sterilization issues. In northern alberta about 5 years ago 10 000 people needed to be tested for hepatitis, also hepatitis is more contagious then AIDS. Hep B there is no cure.

Measles can cause brain damage, one they have the disease, there isn't a cure, if they are not strong enough, they die, all health care professionals can do is manage the symptoms.

Mumps, some peoples throats swell up so much they need a trach

Rubella, if you have a daughter and she becomes pregnant and develops rubella her child may die, and if now will have congenital abnormalities.

All these diseases are one plane ride away, one class field trip, one holiday, one family member visiting, all it takes is your child being at the right place at the wrong time.

If you want to message me I can help you filter through all the garbage posted on the internet, and give you some creditable resources

I am not sure where you are seeing mouse brains, but no that is not one used. Flu vaccines are developed out of a egg.

There are some that the vaccine culture were grown in bovine or porcine products, the end result doesn't test for any animal protein. They used to insert porcine heart valves into people, it saved lives, never heard anyone complaining about that.

1.  Don't believe everything you read.

2.  Don't assume that because something sounds bad or scary that it actually is.  If something freaks you out, dig deeper and be picky about sources.  Anti groups keep people following them through fear.  Things like affiliate links are a really good living for some people.

Go to the national Vaccine information center and educate yourself then make an informed decision. most mumps cases are of peopel that have been vaccinated. DO not depend on your doctor as they push all vaccines. It is disturbing the number of vaccines they now want to push on new babies. NOT ALL are necessary. can't believe the people talking about mono and that is not a preventable disease that therer is a vaccine for.For instance the Gardisil vaccine was pushed on people and released before it was even proven safe and has now killed and maimed countless.

It is not 70 needles.

The reason why children today get a few more vaccines then back in the 60's is because of scientific breakthroughs.

The vaccines have gotten better over the years, they are more pure, less risk.

Β

The research is showing Gardisil is actually working better then first thought. The girls started getting the vaccine up here about 6 years ago, now the research is showing that male penile cancers have decreased by 30 percent. This is significant enough that they are now offering the vaccine to men.

raisinrox - 2016-10-13 5:51 PM Go to the national Vaccine information center and educate yourself then make an informed decision. most mumps cases are of peopel that have been vaccinated. DO not depend on your doctor as they push all vaccines. It is disturbing the number of vaccines they now want to push on new babies. NOT ALL are necessary. can't believe the people talking about mono and that is not a preventable disease thatΒ therer is a vaccine for.For instance the Gardisil vaccine was pushed on people and released before it was even proven safe and has now killed and maimed countless. yeah, and autism

What part of the vaccine is causing Autism?

I have a nine month old baby. I never thought I would not vaccinate but I didn't want to overload her system either. We spread them out. She has more doctor visits but has handled them very well. She never even gets grumpy.

So we don't even know how many kids have bad reactions.

make sure you send a Christmas card to the herd

I'm guessing that went right over her head.

No need to respond to smart a$$ comments. I'm not saying don't vaccinate nor saying I'm completely against them. I'm just stating my own personal experience with my family and them. I'm sure if your brother almost died from them you would think twice about it too. It wasn't my choice to not vaccinate myself as a child it was my mothers. Since no harm has ever come to me from not being vaccinated I don't really see the positive side to it either. I've never even had chicken pox or anything nor has my sister. I'm just on the fence about it and obviously so is the OP.
