| I was actually feeding alfalfa cubes along with the grain the barn was feeding when she was underweight. I got tired of soaking them but then I got her teeth done and the vet said she had some pretty nasty hooks in the back. Now that they're taken care of i went to the pellets instead. I feed them because the hay my barn feeds is junk. They're on grass in the summer but all winter it's hay only with sugary grain lol |

So.... I cannot get Renew Gold by me. I'm on the east coast and it says that Tractor Supply carries it but NONE of them near me have it. I also cannot find Rice Bran. Only Oats, Beet pulp, and Wheat Bran.... HELPPPPPP!
If you have a Amazon prime membership you can get Renew Gold sent to you with free shipping. For me it's within a couple bucks of feed stores around home. |

| I didn't even think of Amazon! Thank you! The only thing I worry about is where they store it and the temps when shipping. Have you had any issues? |

Location: Lost in the corn of Iowa. | Nope. If you don't like it or it's damaged you can always return it. But typically it should be fine. I did this with a horse I used to have and never had any issues. Did it this way for 2 years. |

| How much rice bran do you feed? I'm probably going to mix the alfalfa pellets with it. My mares are both around 1000-1100 Pds. |

Renew Gold has a ONE YEAR shelf life. So it would have to be pretty OLD OLD OLD feed to get a bad/old batch. THe Date on the top is super easy to read. It starts with year it was made, followed by the day. January 1 is day 1. December 31 is 365. So if your feed bag says
16100 Then it was made on the 100th day of 2016. Which is about middle of march or so. That feed is good from March 2016 to March 2017/ |

| I FINALLY FOUND RICE BRAN! The only brand I could find is the Manna Pro Stabalized Pellets. Before I open it.... Opinions? Lol
I also contacted the makers of Renew Gold. They told me it should be fed with a multivitamin and good quality forage to be safe. |

Location: Cocoa, Florida | Tractor supply carries rice bran and alfalfa cubes or t&a cubes, good source of fat (weight gain) and soaking the cubes also helps keep them hydrated! I give it to mine almost every night as a snack along with regular hay. |

| That's where I got the Manna Pro Rice Bran. It says they carry Renew Gold but they don't keep it in stock (says the Tractor Supply employee). Someone suggest Amazon which is probably where I will end up getting it. I just happened to be in TSC today for other stuff and saw they had the Manna Pro brand. |

Manna Pro rice bran is great. Been using it around 6 or so months and love it for my old guy. |

Most Renew Gold users do not add a Vit/Min package to the diet. Very poor hay may benefit, but I would rather buy better hay than buy a vitamin / mineral additive to add to crappy hay.
As to Tractor Supply. Today, there are 700 Tractor Supply stores that carry Renew Gold on the program where their computer automatically orders it to keep it in stock. There should always be Renew Gold available in those stores. In a few months, this will be the case in every TSC store.
For now, remaining TSC stores have Renew Gold available to them, but someone has to take the time to order it. The computer will not restock it in those stores for now. The item number is 1054391. If an employee puts that in the computer Renew Gold will come up available. Again, every single TSC has the ability to do this right now. This issue will be fixed soon, and TSC should be a reliable source.
Also, independent feed store availability continues to expand greatly. We can see that almost any feed store can get Renew Gold if they call us. Since most horse owners prefer to buy from independent feed stores because they often need other things that TSC does not have, that group is vital to us. We continue to consider the independent store as the foundation of our business. |

Location: Ohio | I had great success switching my high strung gelding to a low sugar, low starch diet. Was recommended to me to get him on a feed with a 10% NSC value. Put him on Purina Wellsolve LS and had a different horse 3 weeks later. Calm, relaxed, not always on edge.
I feel he is almost too calm now, lost some of his run. I am in the process of switching him to Buckeye Safe and Easy Performence. It has an NSC value of 12.5 and is higher in fat and protein than the Purina.
Good luck! |

Location: Willows, CA | The Manna Pro Stabilized Rice Bran, either MaxE Glo, or my old label Natural Glo, are very high quality food grade products. They both come off of the same stabilization equipment, and are safe products. Stay away from raw rice bran, or rice bran that has been treated with preservatives to extend shelf life. Also avoid feed that lists just the words "rice bran" and does not mention "stabilized". Those would be rancid. |

I had a university vet look at my Renew Gold. He said it's basically a fat supplement that requires vitamins/minerals. He said is by no means a complete feed. What are y'all thoughts?
So you do need to add a vitamin/mineral supplement to Renew Gold???

Location: west of East Texas | My local Tractor Supply didn't carry it either so I talked to the manager and he ordered some for me specifically. I used to have to ask for it specifically about a week in advance but now the pattern is established and they keep a few bags in stock at all times. I haven't really noticed it calming any of my horses down even though I have two that I wish it would. |
