That club foot would bother me along with all his years racing, but have you ever heard of this ol mare

AQHA Champion
Queenie had a club foot, as a result she often threw a shoe during races, which would cause her hoof to crack open & bleed. With blistering speed & heart she defeated the likes of Shue Fly, Squaw H.

Here's a slightly better picture after our ride yesterday. We have an appointment to have X-rays done. He did have a vet check done, but not by me or my vet. I did, however, see the vet records and spoke to the vet. He did test for a slight decreased range of motion in the fetlock. But not in the club foot. He had 38 outs in his career. But he's so mellow. I had a gelding that had 5 outs that lost his mind every time I pulled him from the pasture.

Don't be too hard on him. Lol. He needs some groceries and a top line. Also included a picture of his foot in question. It's the further one.

I say good for you for getting him and I hope he pays you back in spades. . .

i have q retired mare with a clib foot and the foot was due to neglect of her feet now that she is retired and barfoot looks a lot better i bred her 2 fillies later no club feet. i have had several. if they ride good i would buy them. the biggest problem with that mare she would ture so hard she would slide her rear shoes around. we would just run the shoe forward on that foot and slide the shoe back on the other foot and she would match, it was not a terrible club foot she is still sound on the front end right rear stifle is messed up.

Thanks everyone for the positive and negative. He has an appt tomorrow and we will get to see what's going on in there. In saying that, I am enjoying him. He's a nice gelding and I'm very happy thus far.
