I just bought a 2013 Volkswagen CC Sport Plus. If I could figure out how to post pictures on here I would post lots. I've never had a car before and I'm absolutely in love with this car! The interior is two-tone beige and black, it's cute, super sporty, and looks very classy. I'm so impressed with it.
Oh I love the beige and black interior!
Thank you everyone!! Most that y'all listed I haven't really checked out yet!
VW fan here too! I've just bought a 2017 Passat with the black and beige interior. It's pretty. Except the blue jean stain on my seat :/
I had a 2013 Passat tdi with all black interior before. Woulda drove it into the ground if vw hadn't of made an offer I couldn't refuse. The 42 mpg was hard to let go but my new one gets about 31 mpg. The Passats have tons of room. I can fit like 4 bags of shavings in the trunk lol |

I think if we had to buy a newer car tomorrow it would be the Buick Verano or Regal. We usually rent these when we travel and really enjoy them. Or a Kia Soul. We had one and it got totaled and I'd still buy another.
As far as small SUVs, multiple people I know LOVE their RAV4s. I'm just not a Toyota person. I'm really picky about buttons on the entertainment console and for that reason I wouldn't buy a Ford. I do like the Jeep Cherokee but wouldn't buy any Jeep below that price point due to quality issues.
I'd steer clear of Chrysler products, they're all crap. VW handle so heavy on the front end; not a fan. They also don't seem to come as "loaded" as they used to.
I work for a car rental company and have some strong initial opinions of the makes/models we carry. I guess if I had to choose an economy sedan Od go with the Kia Optima but I've heard of engine issues. I currently drive an 09 Elantra and I love it. The newer Elantra have poor visibility when looking over the shoulder and aren't as comfortable.
I disagree my new vw practically drives its self. I'd rather drive it over the Mercedes GLK my mom has. I looked at several cars up to $40k and vw had just as much or more techy stuff and a better lay out for way less money.
I will say Nissan had the most comfortable seats...omg they were dreamy! |

I have two very close friends that both have VWs and they love them and the good gas mileage they get. |

Location: The best kept secret in TX | 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport. 10 year 100k mile warranty. Gets 24-26MPG in town and 30-32 on the highway depending on how I drive. Costs about $30 to fill up. Brand New off the lot I got mine for 22k. Wait for a good sale and it's worth it. Great car with room for feed if I need to pick anything up. Hauls the kids, hauls the dogs, it's great. Plus I'm covered for 10 years or 100k miles. And if you knew my luck with cars you would be super excited for me LOL. It's larger inside and out than the escape but still considered a compact SUV. My SO is well over 6 foot and fits easily inside. He loves to drive it.

| Hyundai Santa Fe hands down. Absolutely love it!!!
Not too expensive, good gas mileage, rides quiet & smooth, can put feed in the back, easy to park, fun to drive- don't have anything negative to say. |

| VW fan here too. I drive a mid 2000s VW and I'll drive it until the wheels fall off. It gets phenomonal gas mileage, is sporty, safe and has held up great! I am someone who places zero priority on vehicles as long as it's safe/not a total beater. I see people practically going hungry trying to make huge car payments trying to keep up with the jones's and I am just not wired that way.
Someone mentioned RAV4s. I sincerely feel like those things are tippy, chincy built, death traps. LOL. I say VW all the way!
Have fun shopping!! |

Location: Armuchee, GA, NW section of Ga | We enjoy the Kia vehicles. My DH has driven a Sorento for the past 4 vehicles. Good mileage, comfortable seats. I have a Lexus RX400h and the seats are not as comfortable as his Sorento. He usually gets about 28 MPG or so. We recently found out that Kia came out with a new model, a Kia Niro. Small SUV. We looked, drove and even took over nite. WE were well pleased...53 MPG!! We will be ordering one I think.

Location: Arkansas | I have been shopping a little and haven't found anything I love yet, but I am leaning towards the new Kia Niro hybrid. They don't have any on the lots around us yet but I defiinitely want to check them out. I can't buy for a few months anyway, so I don't mind waiting. |

Didn't know these existed until I saw them the other day. Pretty cheap compared to the hybrid SUVs in its class. I almost bought the Sportage until I drove my Santa Fe Sport. Much nicer inside and had more bells and whistles for the same price. I looked into the Hyundai Ioniq hybrid hatchback a little too and liked it. It's a car but has the same room as most small SUVs

| Maybe a little too big for what you're wanting, but I LOVE my Ford Explorer. It has a fold down seat in the back so I can fill it with lots of saddles, feed bags, etc when I need to.
Otherwise two of my sister's have Chevy Equinox's and they really like them. |

| I recently bought a Nissan Altima. Nothing fancy (by today's standards) but perfect for me. Perfect size, perfect modest look, comfy seats, and great gas milage. I guess the continously variable transmission got a bad rap when it first came out, but they must have refined it big time. I really love it. |
