Does the Clampitt Hack only come with a chain nose or does it come in a rope nose as well?

My hands don't get along with hackamores, but when I have needed one I absolutely love the Clampitt hack. It has the most feel of any hack I have tried.

My hands seem better in a hack so I've used many of them but by far the Clampitt is the best. Ronny will visit with you about you and your horse than make one to suit. Then the help doesn't stop there. As you use it, ride, run, etc. he will help you with it. LOVE his hack :)

I've always seen how the Clampitt is worn so low on the nose, like they could restrict their breathing.  I thought they should be higher.  Are these supposed to be that low?

ThreeCorners - 2017-04-05 3:34 PM Thank you all for your input. This horse has a little bit ( according to the vet ) of TMJ going on and his first barrel is hit or miss. You can NOT touch him running to the first or he just shakes his head and goes by. If we don't touch him at all, he'll wrap it 80% of the time. So figured maybe he would like a hackamore better to eleviate the pressure on his mouth with the slight TMJ. So we just ordered both the Bozo and Jim Warner short shank rope nose. We'll see how it goes or which one he likes better. If any. lol

Get a good equine dentist... TMJ pain isn't normal and usually TMJ issues are caused by an unbalanced mouth... just my 2 cents, but getting a good equine dentist will might fix your issues. If not, have an ultra sound done on the TMJ, maybe inject?

Yes, we are addressing his teeth. Havnt done anything about injecting yet though. Diligent teeth work seems to be working well. Just though a hack might solidify his first better without just hoping this run isnt the run he decides to float by. I have been told the JOH horses seem to be funny with their mouths so just thought it would be worth a try.
