Location: Illinois | I have mine on MVP Exceed 6-Way & it has worked wonders. Tried the Platinum CJ and didn't notice any difference. My running horse has bad joint fluid, has the consistency of water and because of that he developed bone spurs in his hocks & knees (only joints I've had xrayed to check). I had to inject him right before I started legging up in the spring and would notice him deteriorate by the end of fall. Usually have him injected April yearly and this year I was able to push it back to July and vet was impressed at the consistency of his synovial fluid. It was elastic & slippery like its supposed to be. I have my 24 year old pasture/light lesson horse on half dose of the Exceed and he stays very mobile and he is very arthritic. I love the stuff and don't think I'll ever use anything else |

Ask your vet about injection costs. Most horses can go a full season without being injected again as long as they are on a Maint. Dose of some sort. (Actiflex etc.)
I bet it would save you a little money in the long run.  |

Big D's is having a sale on Actiflex - buy 3 quarts and get the 4th free. It is cheaper than buying the gallon jug. I think a quart is 23 and change on Big D's.

Acted like their stomachs bothered them and started acting cranky when riding, not finishing their barrels. Took them off of it and after some time they went back to acting normal.
This is the first I have heard of the actiflex causing any issues. I feed the powder. I wonder what could possibly be in it that would cause an issue???
Who knows which ingredient was guilty, just sharing my experience |

I have read that MSM can be hard on a horse's stomach, so I avoid feeding it. |

Yep, and I have also heard HA can be rough to. Its an acid after all. I have always fed Curost Stomach formula daily so maybe thats protecting them a bit, but yea, MSM can be as well! |

There are 1000s of horses on MSM and doing awesome on it. Its been used for decades. I would say try it and keep a close eye for behavior changes. If you notice something out of whack, take them off for couple weeks. If it subsides, then you have your answer. GOod thing about MSM is its CHEAP... SO if it didn't work, your not out 100s of dollars like some other Joint supplements. |

Agree...just keep an eye on your horse. I have always thought MSM to be a good thing, but when I was battling ulcer issues with one mare, I came across info that stated MSM bothers some horses.
