I just read the headlines

I just asked my husband jokingly about a fuel shortage and he said it may be we have a shortage. A quarter of the gas/diesel production is now offline. He is a salary man and they have put him on tools along with 6 other men and they are divided up on day and night shifts. My husband hasn't been on tools in at least 5 years.
The West plant is very close to operational but the East plant is still a few days from being so. I don't know about the status of the other 2 refineries here. No telling how long it will be before the refineries in the Houston area are up and running. So while we won't run out of fuel, prices are going to soar and fuel might not be as plentiful as we are used to.

RE: Gas Panic in Texas? Legit worry??
There are excessive amounts of gasoline in storage tanks all over
this country ....
they have been shipping gasoline in huge tankers
all over the world for the first time in years and years because there
was a law they could not do it and short the USA in fuel...
Obama changed the law ...
The oil companies hate this $2.20 cent pricing ......
so any excuse will do to jump the prices ... on Americans ...
which will not come back down!!
Look at all the shipping companies UPS USPS FEDEX ... WENT UP WITH
$4/GAL AND HAVE NEVER BROUGHT THEIR PRICES DOWN ... GRRRR
If I were insane .. I would say let it go up to $6 per gallon in California
and let them add their new 71 cent per gallon tax on to that and enjoy
listening to their whining ..
If you take piling all of our big refineries into one area and forming national grids for electricity ........... they should be looking at spreading out
refineries and electric power plants in each state or big city region
on a need basis ...then all the yammering about some one blowing up
or hacking our national grids and pipe lines would be history ... you
could have a manual power switch to throw if a neighbor state needed
some temporary gas or electricity .. until they got theirs repaired ...
It is like the old country saying ...
DON'T PUT ALL YOUR EGGS IN ONE BASKET

GLP - 2017-08-31 11:26 AM We are working an emergency job in Corpus and the trucks from San Angelo that were hauling the pipe had to stop and spend the night in San Antonio because they couldn't find any stations off the highway with diesel. They made it in fine this morning, though.
San Angelo ran out yesterday bc everyone ran to fill up!

There is NO SHORTAGE, it will just take a little longer for the fuel to get to where it needs to be. We will not be without fuel.
