So those pictures that I posted are from the Eagle Creek fire. It's been pretty much confirmed it was started by teenagers. A witnesses watched them throw a lit firework into a ravine and they were videoing and laughing. She told them "do you realize you just started a fire?" And the response was "well what do you want us to do about it?"

The comments I'm seeing on Facebook are appalling. People are defending them saying "they're just kids, don't tell me you never made a mistake as a kid." Ummm I made mistakes but starting a 33,000 acre fire that has taken a week to be 5% contained is not something anyone I know has done.

And that is one of the answers of what is wrong with our society today. . . .

I heard that as well, those kids were laughing and shrieking like it was a grand ol' time
I was told that one of the fires in WA was started by an "experienced" hiker burning their used TP instead of just burying it like normal people would

People sure seem to be losing their common sense these days, maybe it's all the smoke inhalation...

Sometimes I wonder how much common sense is left in the world. . .

It's likely they will go after them for costs since it was human caused.  I've worked in wildland fire for the last 17 years.  Many years ago when I worked in southern Utah, we had a really big fire that was started by kids.  They went after the parents for fire costs.

Edited to add a link, I was surprised when I googled it and it came up
