SKM - 2017-12-15 5:01 PM At the risk of being strung up...if you watch Kimmie’s runs, they’ve all been the exact same. Where she’s been hitting 2nd, that’s a jockey error. Last night she finally held Foxy straighter longer and she got by it. The mare is working. Her jockey wasn’t helping her enough. That isn’t saying Kimmie can’t ride. It’s simply stating a fact.
I do agree with you, no flaming here..........it seems that the only adjustment has been to let Foxy run the entire length of the alley, which scares the heck out of me because I keep thinking Kemmie's left leg is going to get caught really bad. It is an extremely stressful, hard arena setting but they have been at it a long time and should have a way to deal with this set up/situation. My thought is, Foxy should be out back loping circles to burn off some energy before having to line up. Foxy is just not doing well being so fresh, maybe being a little winded would help both of them settle and focus. JMO
I wish she'd make her walk and get her listening more. Kassie, Ivy, even Tiany have their's listening in the alley. Kassie and Tiany don't even need a helper walking them...they have control of the horse. I"m Foxy scared is gonna take Kimmie's leg off it's so dangerous to let a horse do that and we saw the consequences from doing that last night in round 8. People get hurt.
Not every horse can walk in. One of the reasons Ivy started on JLo she said was because she didn’t want Tibby having to wait so long to run. Scamper was another that couldn’t walk in
ALL horses of that caliber can and will respect a bit. The rider just has to make them. I know Ivy and Kelly both make Tibby light and listen. Tibby actually is very light just like the brother Kelly ran in the super stakes. She didn't want Tibby getting nervous. Respect and nerves are too very different things and no I didn't literally mean walk...I meant have control of. Scamper never ran out of control down an alley either.
Umm according to some girls who ran pro at their he same time as Charmaine, yeah he did. Out of Charmayne’s mouth to my sister was the comment that some one had to have a hold of him headed to the alley way and if they let go to soon, he just took off whether it be down the alley way or not. He wanted to run harrels that bad. I’ve known several top horses that were light and quick but still a hand full in the alley way. |

Scamper did run out of controll at times, all horses have their moments. My trainer was on the rodeo trail with Scamper and she saw him once run into a wall in an L shaped alley. She said he shook his head, Charmayne got him back in her hands and they went in to win the rodeo. Running from the back doesn’t always mean you are not in control, we have a gelding that if you held him up in the alley he would not fire as hard, send him hard from the back and he would clock. |

Your right I probably shouldn't have said that bc she was much younger when she had scamper and not as focused on making one listen. But anyways cuddos to those girls who got hands and can make one listen. After the incident Kimmie did tune her a bit by making her respect the bit a lil but letting her run from the back forty the other rounds caused that

I would have been afraid that if the gate was latched she would have broken her leg possibly. |

Location: Somewhere around here | Well I believe she borrowed a horse last night, but I don't know who's it was. I hope Foxy is ok and didn't hurt herself the other night. Poor Kimmie though, I'm sure this isn't the NFR she was hoping for. I'm placing my bets down to see her next year and having a redemption! |

I think that’s her young one. She made a run on her at the wilderness circuit Finals I saw on Facebook
I thought it was a good decision, despite the run not being anything stellar, foxy was going to hurt someone. |

Location: Oklahoma | Oh Wow! Some these comments are just crazy. You know the saying "You don't know what goes on behind close doors?" I am amazed at some of these comments. I shouldn't be but I am. Kudos to everyone of those girls! those horses are amazing! and they didn't get there by not doing their homework and prepping! I am on the sidelines and while I am in a nice cozy house rather it be hot or cold they are out their busting their butts. Not one girl/horse deserves for us to say they are not broke or need to listen more and so forth! It is all a risk and things can get out of control. I don't wish any horse or man to get hurt! but we all know the risk that we take! Racehorses and people take a bigger risks in the gates they have to go in. Yes she did rear up and more than once but that doesn't mean she doesn't listen and uncontrollable. And maybe kimmie did lope bunches of circles maybe that riles her up more. Every horse is different. Them horses feel the pressure just like them riders do. and some riders can look as cool as a cucumber but inside a mess! The barrels was some great watching!!! You didn't know til the end who was gonna walk away the top dog! And what is crazy is how much a lead that Tianny had going into the finals and how much money can be won at the finals, that you pretty much have to do good at the finals to hold onto your spot! And definitely different styles too! And ole Louie was awesome! He can still hang with them! Now to watch for 2018! Hope everyone has a great year coming up! |

| What happened in round 8? Every video I’ve seen she was already on the pattern when it started.

| There sure seems to be a lot of advice on this thread.
I am always glad to see a horse at the finals running from the back 40. It makes them feel more relatable to me. Not every animal is going to walk flat footed down that alley 10x in a row.
Sometimes you just have to Hi Ho Silver it and deal with what you've got. |

| First off, I don’t care how long she warms up out back. When they say line up, you have to line up. She may have to stand there waiting for her turn forever. You don’t have the luxury of hanging out back and warming up until your turn to run at the NFR. Secondly, the horse was standing quietly when it suddenly jumped. She had complete control until some thought made her think it was her turn. No amount of training or keeping a horse quiet in the back can prepare for that. She was able to gain control right away and wait her turn. |

I don't think she had a choice. I read that Foxy was DQ'd from competing in the next round because of how she behaved in the alley that night. |

| Yeah I follow Kimmie on snapchat and the gray is her backup horse. I believe she is young. I just remember her saying she loves purple lol.
Also, Foxy is a handful!!! If you see her snaps, she is just a handful and Kimmie is hilarious about it. She will show her feeding her and in her stall and Foxy is just a grumpy mare. It is quite comical because I have met a few mares like that in my life and all fantastic athletes.
I am bummed for her this year as obviously it didn't go well. And I don't care who you are, you start having a rough few runs and it gets into your head. I am glad no one was hurt and I think it probably was smart to switch it up whether by choice or by DQ. |

| I cannot imagine the stress and no break in 10 days if things just aren't going your way?! They don't get to have a night off to try and get out of their own head just have to keep coming back night after night and hopefully have a short memory. Hopefully Kimmie's 2018 season will make up for a bit of a rough go. After watching Foxy in the alley it reminded me of I think the mare was Twisted Sister that Sydni ran a few years ago and also did not seem to like the set up and waiting in the alley very well. Does any one know where she ended up? She was really fun to watch once she got in the arena. |
