The dog was on the neighbors property, neighbor said it threatened his son and calves. Police determined the fatal shot was fired while the dog was running away. He was found guilty on a count of intentionally killing a dog, misdemeanor. The last “S” is for shhhh. Shoot and shovel apparently don’t work so well. Exactly. How would they know what happened to the dog if he didn't tell them?
Precisely! I'm an animal lover, but I will not tolerate neighbors dogs harrassing my horses or family. |

 Own It and Move On
Location: The edge of no where | oranges - 2018-01-09 7:05 AM What do you all do to keep the neighbors dog out of your yards? We aren't on speaking terms with our neighbor but their dog is always at our place (we live about 1/8th mile away) crapping in my yard, peeing on my hay. I chase it home but it's still here!! We did have a sick bull he was eating the crap once and he must of smelled because that got their attention and they kept him home a few days, but now he's right back over here. RANT Rant Rant
Doesn't sound like he's actually doing anything bad, just kinda a pain. Since you're not on speaking terms with your neighbors, have you tried leaving a note that he's at your house and you don't like him? They might not even be away that it's bugging you so much. At least give them a chance to pen him up. If it was your dog, wouldn't you want them to at least talk to you before doing something as drastic as shooting him? |

Location: The best kept secret in TX | Neighbors dog used to come over to our house. We called the sheriff. The third call the sheriff gave us permission to shoot in fron tof the owner since the dog attacked one of our goats, which the Sheriff saw us give her the bill for. So the last time the dog was on our property we shot at the ground to scare the dog away and it must have scared the owner because she has kept the dog inside her house ever since. We no longer have a dog chasing and attacking our goats. Same neighbor that had a 2 year old friensian stallion that kept tearing down our fences... Same neighbor that informed me, in front of the sheriff tha tit was my fault for having a mare in heat... The sheriff laughed and set her straight. LOL |

Location: Louisiana | Occasionally the neighbors dogs will come down to our house - usually when one of our females is in heat(they stay penned up). They don't hurt anything other than torment our working dogs in the dog yard(ours want to get out and *get* them LOL) and terrify my little inside dog - should I let her out to potty and not see them first. They aren't mean, she's just a scaredy cat.
My husband will usually pepper them with rat shot while chasing them home and they stay gone for months if they show up for more than a couple days in a row. If they were mean at all, or chased our cows it would be different. |
