Location: In the land of peanuts and cotton | Improper fitting helmets. Especially on children. I don’t care if you wear one, that’s your choice. But dang it if your going to wear it at least get one that fits. If it’s so low down on your face you can’t see then it doesn’t fit. If you wear one and it sits way back on the back of your head and neck, it doesn’t fit. I see so many children that their helmet only covers the very back of their head. Top and front completely exposed.
Another thing I’ve noticed, I don’t know if it’s just around here or everywhere, but the people that start GoFundMe accounts so they can barrel race on weekends or to buy this new awesome horse. The ones beyond that, that really get me is the ones that do this yet they don’t work. When I was a teen if I didn’t have the money from working I didn’t go. Now that being said if a small child or someone with a disability get the rare opportunity to go to something like one of the World shows then by all means do what ever to make it possible. But not your average teen/young adult that’s just being a brat and doesn’t have a job. |

Location: my piece of paradise | I cant stand the complaining about ground! Come on they are dragging every 5 the ground is fine no matter where you end up. Come rodeo with me and then you can see what real bad ground is.
Somebody mentioned above the polo wraps being wrapped wrong. I cant stand it either.
Another is running the horse and then not taking off the boots or wraps after a run. Also not using a liniment or cold water hosing legs after. I guess basic leg care in general. Maybe its because it was drilled into me as a child but, "no leg, no horse" those legs are vital.
Horses tied so long at the trailer they are eating grass and stepping on lead lines.
Another I have seen lately is riding at a show in the stretchy yoga pants and looking like slobs. I mean I ride in them at home and feed in my pjs but when your at a show I feel that we need to dress the part with jeans and boots. JMO
Kids with whips and spurs. Don't have a clue how to ride or use their body and legs, but lets give them a whip and spurs and go fast!

| Lead ropes tied with halters left dangling near the ground from the trailer or fence, especially in the warm up area... I don't like to see horses tied with their bridles. If I'm not removing bridle for whatever reason and I have to tie up, I slip my halter over the bridle and tie. I've seen a horrific accident happen when a horse set back with the bridle one.. ripped his mouth to shreds and pulled teeth out. I'll never do it. Kids running the legs off horses around the warm up pen or in the barn area or trailers.. heavy handed riders!! |

| Just saw on a BHW add that someone was marketing their stallion in spring 2018 " To a few select mares with proven records only" well, this stud is a YEARLING... Yes, out of a very popular barrel racing stud, but the add makes it sound like their stud is the only one with those blood lines on the face of the planet. But breeding a YEARLING??? REALLY? |

Location: Running barrels or watching nascar | Facebook Live. It's not good for events, IMO. You can't zoom in and I haven't seen a vertical TV screen.
Those that video with their phone vertical. It's much better horizontal. I just want to grab their phones and show them correctly. |

LOL... such a dangerous place LOL! Mostly when 50% of the riders are teens on their phones not paying any attention to what's going on and just wondering around! |

People branding horses in these large brands with their initials as big as a dang dinner plate, then not even registering the brand

I agree, but here in CA, a brand on a horse is not considered legal ownership like it is on cattle. I have mine registered for sure, if nothing else it gives some contact info if they ever go missing and law enforcement tries to contact the owner of the brand, |

Location: Jersey Girl | I'm a blingy tack lover....nothing too over the top tho. I'm all about blinged out conchos and the silver spots.
As for my pet peeves- using incorrect grammer and spelling in memes and sale ads. Whats more irritating is people respond anyway and act like thats how its supposed to be spelled. -how this society now has a "trophy for everyone" mentality -barking dogs left at the trailer. I didn't come to the barrel race (or when camping) to listen to your dog bark my entire stay. Horse related: -watching a rider take it out on the horse when they have a bad run -a breast collar that hangs too low
