CYA Ranch - 2018-11-25 10:13 AM I didnt have a good experience
What didn't you like?

too many people
was pushed into using her dentist
my horse was still drugged from the dentist when it was my turn
my biggest problem with him was he would get really amped up during runs and of course while drugged he was a kitten
I got 20 minutes with her and my drugged horse alone
It was a very expensive meet and great

Oh man that's a bummer and yes it's expensive. I think I am going to pass on her clinic. Thanks so much for the info!

I didn't feel it was worth the money at all. And I went a few years ago, it's probably more now. Ha!

My experience was very similar to CYA Ranch  I spent a ton of money for 20 minutes of time in three days.

ctdrumrunr - 2018-11-25 1:36 PM I went to one many years ago and would never go to another. SHe did not ride the horses, was pushing her dentist and chiropracter and favored the group that had mostly rodeo girls in it.  The ladies she had working with us lesser barrel racers were nice but I didn't pay to have them teach me. Day 1 we were outside with helpers and rodeo girls inside with CJ, day 2 we were all inside with CJ and she was helping them a lot and casually watching the rest of us.

Not worth the money, I would do a Paul Humphrey clinic if there is one near you.
I have not been to a Charmayne clinic, but have heard both good and not so good. My experience at a Paul Humphrey clinic was a waste of time and money....very bummed out leaving that clinic.
I thought you liked Paul?

Yep.. Used to... Next time I see you, I will fill you in....kind of a long story.  :)

Thanks for the input, everyone! Maybe I will audit this time and see if I like the vibe.

I agree on not everyone will like every clinic. I loved Ed Wright clinics for example but I know he wasn't everyone's cup of tea.

She's coming to do a clinic an hour from me and I wasn't going to sign up because of the cost.  After reading this post, I probably would be disappointed even if money wasn't an issue.

Are you near STL? I live 15 min from the arena where the MO clinic is being held in April.

Possibly just go audit one day? At the clinics I went to, auditors asked a lot of questions as well.

Oorr, you will learn the same thing by checking out trainingbarrelhorses.com and speaking with a good equine vet.

Im personally sticking with the one that we attended to last year. After talking with a couple of people that have attended CJ's clinics, I don't think I would enjoy it even if money wasn't the issue.

Lynn does an excellent job at explaining. What she teaches can and will work for any horses style. Of course like with any thing you do you will only get out of it what you put into it. If you are close and can attend I would recommend this clinic no matter how long you have been riding and competing.

I'm an hour west of the arena. Not too far from Six Flags
