One is a world champion in two registries, one being an AQHA world champion. Not at all uncommon to APHA, AQHA. Will’s horse—A DASH OF COLOR, I believe, is a very nice horse registered AQHA/APHA. Yes I understand. I myself have owned horses that have been double registered.  It was in the context this person used it. She was saying registerd as barrel and cutting horse ...which are not registries. It was obvious to me that she was under the wrong impression.
Thank you for being the kind of person that will truly help new horse folks. Y'all are priceless to the horse world. I've had some in my life, which I'm beyond thankful for. (And this site is another blessing as well.) |

 Thanks for the kind words Chandlers Mom. I grew up involved with horses but it wasnt until later in life where I was exposed to some really great horsemen and learned that I didnt know near as much as I thought I did. I am thankful for all of those that have helped me expand my knowledge and skills. This board has also brought me great deal of insight. |

Location: Carpenter, WY | SKM - 2018-12-12 10:46 AM Years ago, I had a man walk up to me at a little show my then 9 year old daughter was showing at. His daughter had gotten excused from the arena and he didn’t understand why. He decided I was someone that looked like I knew what I was doing so he decided to ask. That started a friendship between both of our kids and our families. That was 16 years ago. Green isn’t bad if the person has a desire to listen and learn. It takes courage to reach out to a complete stranger and ask for help. It’s the ones that don’t want help that are like quicksand.
This ^^ We've always tried to go out of our way to help the kids out. You get some that don't want to break a fingernail, lay their phone down long enough to listen or think one trip trotting around the arena is enough for one day. Then there was the one that kept running to the house to get a soda out of the fridge every 10 minutes. The ones that really want to listen and learn from a couple ofold farts don't come along very often. In this day and age Google and You Tube can be a beginners best friend if they really want to learn about pedigrees and training. |

If the person is inexperienced that may be what they understood. |

Thank you!! Yes ma’am he does. Growing up he didn’t come from a family that could afford finished horses so he always made his own. Ended up winning the National High School Finals on a mare he trained in 2002. It was just what he loved and he’s done that for a living ever since. :) |

 Too Skinny

Location: LA Lower Alabama | As someone who lived far from a good farrier I reached out years ago to a BoardBuddy farrier in the hopes that she would be willing to offer some help on my trim job. I just wanted to be sure I wasn't harming my horse with the way I was doing it while admitting I knew just the basics. She was less than willing and I do believe she was spooked by the "newbie" quick sand issue. Thankfully I found someone who was willing to give me a chance until I was able to find a farrier. Turns out I aint half bad and I made a really good friend in the process. |
