You should just get you a side by side and go. I sometimes perfer the SXS if it gets a flat tire no problem. Some of the hills we ride on horses I worry about my retired horses getting hurt on the trail. I do have a different perspective on some of you because of where you live. I had never been out west till last year we went the 100th Cody WY Rodeo, Yellowstone, Badlands, Crazy Horse. I don't really want to trailer my horse that far I worried enough driving in a pretty new motor home. I kept thinking if my stagecoach breaks down out here in the middle on nowhere, what will I do? Imagining settlers doing it in an actual stage coach was enough. I just thought I lived in the country.
ETA: I meant this above for vjls
Only stayed 2 nights was going back in October, Saloon was cool good food it was a little chilly. It's amazing to me how much it reminds me of Shawnee National Forest in IL.
i am a quad and 69 i went white water but i have to hve someone with me so its out. but you ought to joing the facebook page of trailriders omy its fantastic but on a different note a now according to a reporter this is really out of hand such nonsense A reporter for One America News Network asked President Trump if he thought the term "Chinese food" was racist during a line of questioning centering on the president's use of the phrase "China virus" to describe the coronavirus. Chanel Rion, OANN's White House correspondent, asked the question of the president during Thursday's White House Coronavirus Task Force briefing. Rion, who spent part of her childhood living in South Korea, asked, "Do you consider the term 'Chinese food' racist because it's food that originates in China?" "No," the president answered before she finished the question. "I don’t think it’s racist at all." just to me how silly thing are |

46 confirmed cases in OK and first death today. I am sure there is many more cases as there was only 100 tests available to the state. Schools closed, large venues closed. Simon properties have closed their malls. Bars and restaurants open for drive thru or delivery only. Heck even the Indians have shut down the casinos. Had to go to Wal-Mart to pick up an RX today and the shelves were pretty much bare. I am sure everyone e know by now that the BBR finals are postphoned until Aug.
Im in okla to. Was very sad to see that the man who contracted it died. News said he hadn't been anywhere to get it. Means someone in tulsa has it. He was a minister they said. Very sad. I am self quarenteen. I did my first on line pick up shopping at wal mart this morning. God Bless our country & our president. |

Location: Peg-Leg Julia Grimm | I work for a construction company. We only work on industrial plants. A handful of paper or lumber processing plants and 3 metal alloy manufacturerers. One waste product disposal. Then an odd other type of industry here and there. Only one of our customers is shut down right now. Hope it's not where they make TP. So we are working. We don't get a lot of foot traffic but I'm locked in the office now with no delivery people or carpenters allowed in this space. My boss and the project manager are the only ones I have face to face contact with. I had a stockpile of non perishable food just for something like this already. Lights and water are on. Nothing I need. So no grocery store or any other type of shopping hopefully until this is over. Unless it's online. I'm not obsessing about how many cases or deaths. So I don't know. It's not that I don't care, I'm doing my part. I just don't think it's going to change anything if I haunt the internet daily obsessing about it. I do know there are a LOT more people getting this that aren't dying than are.

On the political correctness of what they call it, I could care less. However when you have nut cases trashing Chinese restraunts, I guess it makes a difference to some. Same way with the statues, you can't rewrite history, taking them away is just wrong. Us liberals have our nutcases too. I'm hunkered down but I finally have sunshine and 4 horses in the barn I need to take care of. I should get busy around here lots to do. I can't wait to take a break and see what new names I have been called. Have a great day and stay safe. |

| The troops are getting restless here. Tempers are shorter than usual in the office... My husband and I are still working. We have minimal people here at work this week. Its a known fact most are using this as an excuse to stay home. My husband has no choice but to go in. And they are about to make is 12hr shifts 7 days a week instead of 8-5 m-f for supervisors. All because a bunch of rich retirees are freaking out. Yeah cuz having more management on site will keep a virus away? Just stupid BS that I am so tired of. Add in horrible weather and I am about to go stir crazy. Its been a rough week. And to add complete insult to injury, I backed into a gate this morning like a damb@ss..... A gate that SHOULD have been open but the paranoid as heck renter up front decides to close it, knowing that others leave for work in the mornings. Dark gate + no lights in that area = hard to see at 6am.... Oh AND I started today..... Its a GREAT DAY! I want a margarita and to go run my mare. Thats it. |

Location: My happy place | So sorry for the people who have to work. I have been afraid of going out to eat since 3/7, people that make what restraunt workers do usually have to go to work sick out of necessity. I could use a drink too. I do have a question for you all. How long do you leave your horses out on Spring grass? I'm famous for being from the party of death but I hate to kill my old retired show horses I have finally got out on pasture. I brought them in last night because of the storm and overnight my pasture has turned really green. I had them staying out all the time, they have barn they will never go in even in bad weather. One is 24 and was navicular when I bought him at 8, doing great barefoot and out, the other is 16 with breathing problems. Any thoughts appreciated? I was one of those mean people who kept my horses in stalls all the time for years.

Spring grass is laoded with sugar, I have to be very careful of one of my geldings and a pony so they only get to go out for a very short time about once a week, my gelding is IR and the pony founder a few years back and that spring grass will set off the IR and Founder. So they have underlying issues that the grass will set off. I would load your horses up with hay befor I turn them out so they wont eat a whole lot of grass for now untill this new grass gets older and wont produce as much the sugar. |

Location: My happy place | Thank you I know all those things and knew it was coming but it just turned way too green overnight. Is it bad to wish for some horseflies because they will make them go get in the barn off the grass? I have been feeding them hay and oats while out in the field it didn't even look that green till now. As much as I love Spring this will keep me busy. Thankfully I have a mud lot too. I have picked stalls and fed horses for 55 years. I'm sort of over the stall part. |

I did see a report where it could last as long as 24 hrs. on some surfaces but who knows if that is true or not. It would certainly make me wonder then about "carry-out" etc. food. I also saw a report this morning that suggested that you bring your food home and immediately put it in your own container (throw away the food containers) and then wash your hands thoroughly. I posted a youtube webcast about a week ago with great information from a doctor. What I remember from what he said is plastic/metal/wood/hard surfaces i.e doors and doorknobs, etc... are the worst for retaining germs. Paper, cardboard etc.. not so much. It must absorb into the porus surface. The virus doesn't do well in higher temps. That's why they (Trump) has said from the beginning the spring and summer temps will go a long ways towards helping us through this. There is way too much hysteria and not enough facts out there. I try not to read all the hype. Stress will make you sick too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IkOdpYvK6OQ |

Location: My happy place | Thanks but no thanks OregonBR, I have toilet paper and have one of those coming home soon. He will wonder why I haven't got more done around here and the dreaded..... What's for supper? Then he will retire to his chair and fall asleep. My chores are sort of done everyone is fed and happy, the horses and dogs are so much easier than men. No one is coming over and I'm not going anywhere. I have friends really freaking out over this, they are also the ones who said it was all a media hoax. I have no idea what will happen, I have never seen a situation like this. My advice is prepare for the worst, expect the best. Not much anyone can do, we are all in this mess together. I think they all need watching they are going to be handing out money right and left It's our job to make sure it's going to the right places and people. IMO we can't do much else and it would be a crime if we didn't pay attention. They are on both sides. |

| Iowa is pretty boring at the moment. I'm on a 4 week hiatus from school. They are telling us that we are to supply links to practice work, but we aren't doing online learning as of yet. No new material, no graded work, and no special education services. Not sure if we go online how I'll do sped services anyways. So far I'm getting paid for the mandatory hiatus, but they'll re-evaluate at the end of the 4 weeks. My husband is still working. He sells parts for the auto industry and told me GM goes into a shutdown today. They are allowed to work if they want to though. They made it through the Strike, so they should make it through this. I have food for probably a good month. My horses have food for a good month as far a grain and supplements go and plenty of hay. I also have a new pack of TP. The entertainment industry has shut down. No movies, no restaurants, some malls and stores are closing. We do have carry out or delivery at most restaurants, including beer. I guess Walmart really will be the outside entertainment at the moment. I have some new books on my shelves and amazon prime, so I should be good to go if we go full quarantine. |
