Location: My happy place | Frodo - 2020-04-20 9:06 AM I watched a press conference with President Trump yesterday and it's disgusting how badly the liberal reporters talk to this man. They blame him for the death and disease while never mentioning China as possibly being the culprit. I'll say one thing......Trump has learned to handle them like a pro and takes no guff from these weasels. I watch his press conferences everyday sometimes for over 2 hours. If he would actually tell you anything in his press conferences the reporters wouldn't have to ask so many questions. They are nothing but a rally because he can't stand actually having to work, and misses his base. I think it's awful the way he talks to reporters calling most of them nasty when they ask a question. Imagine if any other president would have done that? Spends most of his time patting himself on the back telling us all what a great job he is doing. I said I would just wait and see and it's been a month. Now we have gone from "It's a hoax to liberatng states"...... yes he is doing a fine job. He says.........Everyone can get a test............ Everyone has PPE........ I just don't find that to be true do you? I make my husband watch everyday because like the rest of the country he would like to go back to work. It's like making a kid do homework and he hates it. However I do believe he should know who is making that call and what information he is giving. I think he considers a lot of people expendables as long as it benefits him. Chandler's Mom..... I think JD/EZ was refering to how his govenor is handling the virus in his state not what Hillary or Biden would have done. He is refering to KY govenor Any Beshear who barely won over Matt Bevin (big Trump supporter and kind of a crook) he seems to be doing a great job in KY. even with Mitch McConnell in the state. Gives daily informative press conferences and most of the people (and he barely won) love him. I challenge all Trump supporters to watch his press conferences everyday and read his twitter feed. I shake my head and think grandpa is off his meds over many things he says. Have a great day and stay safe, so thankful for sunshine and a pretty day. Location: My happy place | Well I will keep it short also, since I have listened to Biden talk on TV a few times. I have also listened to people from the Obama admnistration. Susan Rice has a very good interview I'm sure you can find on what should and could be done. I think Biden like Obama would surround himself with good people who know what to do. I hope like Obama he would read his daily briefings. Seems to me people were warned just didn't do anthing or tell anyone who cared. This is where that pandemic team would come in handy, I hear they look for this stuff, instead of waiting for it to come. IMO Trump has surrounded himself with people that tell him what he wants to hear... for fear of being fired. He plays the american people like he did his reality show. He has eliminated all the systems put in place to help us in this and has his cronies and family to figure it out. The fact that we have lost 22+3 today military members to this should have everyone upset. How crazy is it he tells people to stay home then encourages them to go protest to liberate the states he wants.

No President of the United States has ever dealt with anything like this. He is dammed if he does and dammed if he doesn't. I listen to President Trump's press conferences almost daily. I think he's done a great job. He praises the Vice President, Governors, health care workers, and people of the country. Has Biden, Sanders, or Pelsoi said how they would of handled it? The way the media treats him is awful! I love when he fires back at them!

He has eliminated all the systems put in place to help us in this and has his cronies and family to figure it out. The fact that we have lost 15 military members to this should have everyone upset. How crazy is it he tells people to stay home then encourages them to go protest to liberate the states he wants. Everything you said was either useless or bullish!t or irrelevant. 1.) Susan Rice was a tool and a serial liar. She's the dingbat who wrote herself an email that said President Obama wanted the investigation into Trump-collusion to go "by the book". Why was she compelled to do that? Any moron can see what she was fecklessly trying to do. She's the one who went around the Sunday talk show circuit in the aftermath of the Benghazi debacle, lying about some allegedly incendiary anti-Muslim video that practically nobody ever saw, and cited that as the reason for the attack on Benghazi. Hillary repeated the same lie to families of the victims. Shame on you for scraping the bottom of the barrel in invoking her disgraced name as some authority on this pandemic.
2.) You said you THINK Biden would "surround himself with good people". That's all you can come up with? That pandering, flip-flopping, corrupt, rich, white man who can't even read a sentence or recite a familiar passage from the Declaration of Independence, even with the aid of a teleprompter? Most people have already reached the conclusion that he is demented.
3.) Several weeks back I asked you to name me someone of note on that so-called "Pandemic Response Team", and you couldn't even come up with a name, much less their credentials. Either you were too lazy to look it up, or you didn't know how. The first Covid19 was on January 22. He assembled his Task Force on January 29, when we had 5 cases, and the travel ban to China was implemented on January 31, when we had 6 cases in Seattle. We didn't have our first death until nearly a month later, on Feb 29th. His team had a lot of respected experts, including Fauci and Birx. This was better than any pre-positioned group of bureaucrats.
4.) You say Trump assembled a team of people who only tell him what he wants to hear. That's just typical BS. Fauci addressed that bullish!t allegation last week. He said every single time the medical experts came to him with a recommendation, Trump asked a lot of good questions, and, without fail, he carried out those recommendations. All the travel bans, and the recommendations to shut down....both times. 5.) I'm not sure how your bringing up the tragic losses of military members to this Chinese virus plays into your narrative, but it has nothing whatsoever to do with your premise. Nice attempt to switch focus....that was even worse than Susan Rice's pathetic messages following Benghazi. 6.) So, you think people wanting to get back to work is so unreasonable? Must be those nasty right wingers. Well, tell me something sweetheart......what would you do? What would Joe Biden do? Keep us locked up until we find a vaccine?

Right. Actually, eventually more people eventually stand a chance of dying due to the effects of a rock bottom economy than covid19. We will be shut down almost completely for 6 weeks by the end of the month. We've flattened curves as best we can. Now we have to walk and chew gum at the same time. Keep the precautions and distancing going as much as practical, while protecting the vulnerable, and getting back to work. People need to realize that we've lost over 40,000 in about 6 weeks, with extreme measures in place. We really had to do what we did, in my opinion, or we would be looking at 4-5 times that amount, maybe more, plus the complete overwhelming of most of our major metro areas capacity, in terms of healthcare. Then we would have been looking at anarchy and chaos the likes of which we can't even imagine. Now, the next crisis to deal with is the economy. A bad recession or a depression will kill even more people, except this kind of killer has more than a cytokine storm. This kind of killer has no vaccine or medicine. This kind of killer will prey upon some of the healthiest in society....through violence, crime, depression, suicide, alcoholism, and addiction.
That's the balancing act the President must contend with, and I believe most citizens understand that. That's what I find most disgusting about the stupidity and visciousness of the bimbos and dingbats during the press conferences. They want Trump to fail. They won't admit it, but we can see it. Sadly a few here on this forum clearly share their sentiments.

Location: My happy place | No reason for me to be scared I was just trying to explain what I thought he was saying. I guess I was wrong, I don't have a problem with it at all. I could explain a million things that could have been done different, starting with just what he did and said in February after the WHO notified them China had a problem but honestly. What difference does it make now? Ordering PPE and the very best vents & tests then IMO would have been useful instead of sending PPE to China. I have seen the 69 page document they gave him on pandemics when he was sworn in, he could have paid attention to that. I don't need to look up pandemic team members for you, some are all over mainstream media. Why don't you show me who team Trump had on this before he made one the end of January? Do you think one was not needed before we had a problem? I think the fact that he had a 2 hour press conference and didn't even mention blocking people from coming to the US was weird. Don't say anything when on TV but go back and tweet it. Just seems strange to me and I think it's a good idea just a weird way to do it. IMO could have been done a long time ago, who would want to vacation here now? But hey we are number 1 so I guess we are finally winning. I have no answers just think it's a worthy topic to discuss, it sure is scary to watch and very sad for our country. Let me ask you some questions. Do you think the country should go back to work without more testing and PPE? Would you go in for elective surgery right now? Do you think telling people to stay home and then have them protest is a good idea? Would you be happy to have your loved ones working with infected people for minium wage? I agree some stipulations are crazy but I see a lot of crazy people out there lacking common sense. I can't wait for you to show me who has been watching out for pandemics for the last 3 years? I think most of the agencies you will say he cut funding for, keep that in mind.

Let me ask you some questions.
Do you think the country should go back to work without more testing and PPE?
YES! The country MUST get back to work. Eventually we're all going to come in contact with it, if we haven't already. The testing needs to continue but we can't hide forever waiting on more testing.
Would you go in for elective surgery right now?
Yes, if it wasn't something that required an overnight stay. A lot of hospitals are having the furlough employees because the hospitals aren't seeing the patients they were before COVID.
Do you think telling people to stay home and then have them protest is a good idea?
It is up to the Governors of each state to make the stay at home decisions, not President Trump. If we don't get people back to work and able to leave their house, we will continue to see protests.
Would you be happy to have your loved ones working with infected people for minium wage?
My sister is an RN so she is far from minimum wage, are there health care workers that only make minimum wage? Or are you talking grocery store, gas station and restaurant workers? Again, we'll come in contact with it at some point, if we haven't already.
I agree some stipulations are crazy but I see a lot of crazy people out there lacking common sense.
I can't wait for you to show me who has been watching out for pandemics for the last 3 years? I think most of the agencies you will say he cut funding for, keep that in mind.

Location: Peg-Leg Julia Grimm | The critism of the CDC and the WHO is justified IMO. Intentional or just stupid. You decide. But definitely NOT President Trump's fault. ETA: I see some legal action taking place in the future. "The CDC said in a statement Saturday to the Times that the agency “did not manufacture its test consistent with its own protocol.” Though the CDC appeared reluctant to admit contamination was at the root of the problem, the Times noted that in a separate statement the CDC seemed to acknowledge such problems, saying the agency has since “implemented enhanced quality control to address the issue and will be assessing the issue moving forward.” After the CDC first sent its test kit to states in early February, it took the agency around a month to fix the problem. By then, the virus had invaded many communities unimpeded, and any chance that the US had at containing its spread had virtually vanished. By mid-March, many states turned to mitigation efforts, such as social distancing, to try to blunt—rather than prevent—the life-threatening, healthcare-overwhelming effects of COVID-19." https://www.corona-covid19.be/world/corona-cdcs-failed-coronavirus-tests-were-tainted-with-coronavirus-feds-confirm/?fbclid=IwAR0WWwL5og1WlZ25ro0TsRUi14d4lnI2L0aDqX5-i-TFwDAx47RT7wDWFiI

No reason for me to be scared I was just trying to explain what I thought he was saying.

I was going to reply to her blather, but you did that for me. Nice job! She still can't say what Obozo would have done differently, or Biden, for that matter, other than Biden would have had a team in place. As to that vaunted "Pandemic Response Team" that was relocated to other departments within the government by John Bolton, here's something that I've been wondering about. After the H1N1 influenza outbreak in 2009, a nationwide shortage of masks in the national supply resulted and caused a 2- to 3-year backlog of orders for the N95 masks, the stockpile distributed about three-quarters of its inventory and didn’t build back the supply. That was in 2009-10. If that "Pandemic Response Team" was so critical, where the hel! were they? What's their excuse for not replenishing the 3/4ths of the N-95 masks? Hmmm?

I debated on responding, took me a while to hit post. . . She's been asked MULTIPLE times to say what Obozo, and others would of done different, with no answer. As I've said before, the President is dammed if he does and dammed if he doesn’t. No one has ever dealt with anything like this. There is nothing to compare whether Trump did it right or not. and AGAIN, no matter what side we're all on I think we can agree we need to get the country opened back up, ASAP. Palopony might not agree though. . . There are some races around her in May planning on running. I'm not very optimistic but I hope I'm wrong and they get to have their races. Bear can you explain this antibody test. How do they decide who gets an antibody test? Is it something everyone should or will get? I also seen today the FDA approved an at home test?? Did I see that right?
