As with any reality show about a sport, there are sure to be a lot of eye rolls from those of us that actually compete in that sport. End of story, they are in it to make money by producing the show, so you know they are going to 'spice it up' a bit. No matter what we might think, drama and such is what sells, and its what keeps viewers coming back.
As for my personal opinion, I think the cover photo is bad ass. Props to her for being able to rock it. She looks hot (and that is exactly what the producers are hoping the male crowd will think to get their attention and views). |

I gave the perfect pitch line for a new TV show...
"WEEKEND WARRIORS"
It will follow the REAL cowgirls who might not have the funds/money to chase the big leagues, but get their fix on the weekend. It'll show MUD, HAY STUCK IN HAIR, GIRLS WRESTLING CATTLE, etc...It'll focus on a different "area" every season. I think it'd be more realistic than this show..

Best of all NO BIKINIS...
Maybe I should start following people, who agree, and recording them and start my own REAL reality show.. lol. |

| Why is everyone demonizing this already based off one promo poster? I know one of the girls refused to participate in it because she had the same views as everyone ranting on here. Why jump the gun and assume that everyone will look and act like that? |

First impressions. Thats the big thing here.
Most of us don't flash our bodies, pick up men, and get drunk every night. We definitely don't view ourselves as "S*x Symbols" as this poster projects. I don't think I'd want my daughter watching this TV, if I had one. Because it's showing exactly what most of us dislike. We don't judge people by looks, but they sure picked some hot bodies to represent us. Whether you think that or not, this is what it is doing.
I'm sorry but I don't go to rodeos to pick up men, get drunk, and act like a little bimbo. That's not what the rodeo community is about. Most of us pray before our runs, and most rodeos have a Cowboy Prayer they say. Now you tell me what christian (or anyone who believes in the good Lord) would promote sleaziness to that level? So why promote the show by showing a girl running barrels in all the wrong attire. That isn't the real rodeo scene, that's Hollywood polluting our sport.
I'll be honest, I'll probably watch it, to see if it is as bad as I am expecting it to be. If it's not as bad as I'm expecting, then I've been proved wrong... But I don't count on it being good.
ETA: Now don't get me wrong. We all know how to have a little fun, but we aren't partying wild animals. To some of us, this is more than just a sport, it's a passion...

| It's going to be Texas Women all over again reguardless of what the girls are really like in real life. The producers have to do what is going to be desirable to mainstream TV viewers. No amount of gripping is going to change what the rest of the world WANTS to view barrel racers as. No I am not a fan of the bikini poster, wish they would have made her look BA with clothes on. Sometimes more clothes can be way sexier than less clothes (please take note Miley Cyrus) but they went for the eyegrab they are hoping will attract men to the show as well as women looking to watch drama. I don't know if I could do it and take the money knowing how they would make me look but we all know it takes big bucks to roll on down the road and if doing a cheesy show helps make that happen I think a hell of a lot of people on this thread would take the money and run with it. |

| You are already falling for Hollywood at this point if you just want to tune in to see if it is as bad as you think it is.
And yes this is Hollywood's vision of it but if they put one of these barrel races on these "celebrities" should have had the right mind to deny their activity in it. I guess we will see if someone says they will refuse to participate and whether or not this will change "fans" minds. |
