to me and i am just a grey old lady but the numbers do not add up this is from cdc how many billion people in the world
and this is it
Cases of the new coronavirus, COVID-19, have soared past 169,000, including more than 6,500 deaths, across 148 countries, while more than 77,000 people have recovered, according to a map of the latest figures from Johns Hopkins University. The outbreak continues in the U.S., where President Donald Trump declared a state of national emergency and the total cases have risen to more than 3,770. Several states have enforced stricter precautionary measures to combat the spread, including the closure of schools, restaurants and bars in various parts of the country. Similar measures have been expanded in Spain, France and Italy, where cases continue to spike, with Italy recording the highest surge in deaths within 24 hours, reporting nearly 398 new fatalities in the last day, BBC reports. There are nearly 81,000 infections in China, including at least 3,000 deaths. More than 55,000 in the country have also recovered from the virus. For the first time, the combined total number of infections outside China has surpassed those within, reaching more than 87,000, according to figures from Johns Hopkins University on Monday.

Nearly 11,000 new cases have been reported across the globe, including first cases within at least seven African countries, as well as in Europe and the Americas region, in the past couple of days, according to the latest report by the World Health Organization (WHO). The graphic below, provided by Statista, illustrates the recovery curve compared to the infection curve of the virus.
I've been thinking the exact same thing and wondering, like the topic Bear had earlier, if this isn't all part of a plot by China to unseat Trump with the liberal media chiming in and helping them all they can. Funny how it all came about just a few months before an election after a failed Russia hoax and a failed impeachment trial by angry Democrats.

Sore throat, sudden high fever, dry cough...same symptoms as this virus. Then, after reading the posts I saw where Polopony (?) was trashing Trump & calling him a liar while stating: "I think his job is to reassure the people that someone is in charge." Just had to laugh...can't have it both ways. Blessings to all and 'good health'! Please tell me why you find my statement funny? I would expect that of any elected official. I must say I am impressed by some of the people at the state level. I really don't have a solution and I am as shocked as you all. However I'm a news hound (I read everything) and I spent the last 2 weeks in February horse camping in Florida with very little TV and internet. When I got home March 1, I went to reading to catch up, I have been glued to my computer ever since. When I first looked at the map it had one tiny red dot and lot of warnings from credible people. The fact that a lot of my friends and all of you on here thought it was a democratic hoax, just makes me a little crazy. Also because Sam's delivers I looked at the instant savings book and stocked up since I cleaned out the cabinets before leaving. Fed Ex man hated me I order dog & cat food, not because I'm a prepper, just old and don't like to carry it. On the 12th I went to Sams for butter and Clorox wipes, you couldn't find them on the 12th. Thought I would order online they wouldn't even take online orders. I don't need anything I was just stocking up since I was gone. I honestly never thought it would get this crazy...... Clorox wipes were in the instant savings book and I didn't even order. I did find my barn and horse trailer to be a handy sourse of necessities. I found 91% alcohol so old it could kill anything that and aloe vera I have hand sanitizer. My only advice to anyone is buy dial soap I have never taken anyone for surgery that they didn't tell you to wash with Dial soap first. I will ask a question President Trump gave himself a 10 on his response to this. He is very modest. What score would you give him? Please before you all attack me because I'm not a Trump fan, (I know that respect the office only works on Republicans ) I don't really like any of them and think they are all too old. I didn't even like them when we had 16 to choose from. I can't believe America can't do better. I really don't understamd the all or nothing party lines, I come from mixed lines. JMO

Today's Media is the one to blame for the general public thinking this is a hoax at first. They spread so much drama and biased liberal news over the last 4 years it made me turn off my TV and put away my newspaper. Nothing ever positive about our president or country. Then covid-19 pops up and we are supposed to believe the Media right away that cried wolf several times before??? It doesn't work that way. They basically had to gain a majority of the public's trust again. Creditability goes a long way... Like trust. Once it's broken it takes time and unfortunately the media caused mass hysteria because how could anyone actually believe the level of seriousness they were spewing at first??? They broke our trust awhile ago. Good job you Democrats!

Check out the new public record, which would be his twitter feed. March 4th he was holding rallies and telling people it was going to pass in a week. I'm sorry some of you should pay more attention. Good luck have have a great day.... just keep blaming everyone else. Considering for years you call the democrats sheep and hate the media. You just trust the government they always tell the truth. I guess the press in other countries are bias too.

I did not miss your point. I just don't agree with it and you can't seem to understand that, it's OK. How long to you think the people of Flint, MI would be drinking dirty water if not for the press? Just one example. Yes they are dramatic all fighting for viewers but you can pick and choose who and what to watch. You can also research. I have ran down so many crazy rabbit holes, I gave up reading fiction. This turning on the press has always shocked me because I'm old and know the things they have uncovered that would have been swept under the rug. I must say I have never seen anything like this. I hope you all stay safe, be careful and have a great day.

Lie a lot and lie often until the sheeple believe it. 90% of the corporate "press" doesn't report the truth. They are the propaganda arm of the lying dems. I can watch the president say something in real time and then watch how the press twists it. Cutting off the video at just the right time to make it sound like he said something he didn't say. Such as him saying the virus outbreak is a hoax. He didn't say that. He said the press's reporting on the virus outbreak was the hoax. Drama is what they are after. Scare the people. Just like that, they blame him and mock him for saying something he didn't say.

Yes you did. I can't agree with what??? I never said I didn't. I'm in the front lines for contracting and spreading it. I'm a dental hygienist and my office was shut down for 2 weeks... With no pay!! Do you not think I know the severity of this disease???? My point was the past few years and the history of the Media left over half the population unsure of what to believe. Excuse most people for wanting valid sources of information not biased. Cry wolf once it makes it hard for people to believe you twice.... Until it's to late in the game.

It simply struck me as funny and ironic that liberals constantly call Trump a liar then get upset that he doesn't lie to "reassure the people that someone is in charge". If someone is in charge of this...off with their heads. NOBODY has responded to the NFR FLu...did anyone here go to Vegas in December and get sick after? I know a LOT who did, including my family, and the symptoms were exactly like this coronavirus...I wonder?!

Location: Peg-Leg Julia Grimm | Just to compare. From today. Yet I remember almost no panic and Ovomit didn't close down the country because of it. So what do people want? Do they want Trump to react or not react like Ovomit didn't? You can't have it both ways. From https://www.cdc.gov/flu/pandemic-resources/2009-h1n1-pandemic.html The (H1N1)pdm09 virus was very different from H1N1 viruses that were circulating at the time of the pandemic. Few young people had any existing immunity (as detected by antibody response) to the (H1N1)pdm09 virus, but nearly one-third of people over 60 years old had antibodies against this virus, likely from exposure to an older H1N1 virus earlier in their lives. Since the (H1N1)pdm09 virus was very different from circulating H1N1 viruses, vaccination with seasonal flu vaccines offered little cross-protection against (H1N1)pdm09 virus infection. While a monovalent (H1N1)pdm09 vaccine was produced, it was not available in large quantities until late November—after the peak of illness during the second wave had come and gone in the United States. From April 12, 2009 to April 10, 2010, CDC estimated there were 60.8 million cases (range: 43.3-89.3 million), 274,304 hospitalizations (range: 195,086-402,719), and 12,469 deaths (range: 8868-18,306) in the United States due to the (H1N1)pdm09 virus. Since the 2009 H1N1 pandemic, the (H1N1)pdm09 flu virus has circulated seasonally in the U.S. causing significant illnesses, hospitalizations, and deaths. Additionally, CDC estimated that 151,700-575,400 people worldwide died from (H1N1)pdm09 virus infection during the first year the virus circulated.** Globally, 80 percent of (H1N1)pdm09 virus-related deaths were estimated to have occurred in people younger than 65 years of age. This differs greatly from typical seasonal influenza epidemics, during which about 70 percent to 90 percent of deaths are estimated to occur in people 65 years and older. Though the 2009 flu pandemic primarily affected children and young and middle-aged adults, the impact of the (H1N1)pdm09 virus on the global population during the first year was less severe than that of previous pandemics. Estimates of pandemic influenza mortality ranged from 0.03 percent of the world’s population during the 1968 H3N2 pandemic to 1 percent to 3 percent of the world’s population during the 1918 H1N1 pandemic. It is estimated that 0.001 percent to 0.007 percent of the world’s population died of respiratory complications associated with (H1N1)pdm09 virus infection during the first 12 months the virus circulated. The United States mounted a complex, multi-faceted and long-term response to the pandemic, summarized in The 2009 H1N1 Pandemic: Summary Highlights, April 2009-April 2010. On August 10, 2010, WHO declared an end to the global 2009 H1N1 influenza pandemic. However, (H1N1)pdm09 virus continues to circulate as a seasonal flu virus, and cause illness, hospitalization, and deaths worldwide every year.

Additionally, the US is just in the beginning of the spread across the states. Will it end up being more deadly .... who knows ..... I don't...you don't .... OK lets extrapolate that information. We are 2 months into the CoVid 19 outbreak. If we have 14 more months of this, that is 97 deaths x 7 (assuming that we have a total outbreak time span of 16 months. 14 more to go divided by 2.) = 679 total US deaths. Compared to 12,000+ deaths from H1N1.

You TOTALLY missed the point (what a surprise) .... we are ONLY TWO months into the start of this disease.....YOU, nor I, have NO idea how quickly it will spread or how deadly it will end up being .... You need to just look at the mortality rate of Italy to see that we are just getting ahead of the spread ..... and, by the way, since you copied and posted that meme..... the death rate is now 127 .... and it is now in all 50 states ....
