While this is true and a valid point, personally I would like to know why they didn't go after the best of our best in this sport to show all aspects of it? Long hauls, horses hurt, flying to get to the next rodeo/futurity. There is ton about this sport to cover. God forbid they didn't cover the difference in what I just mentioned and the lack of men in the wpra level.
Being good looking and a hot momma is not on the top of the learning curve for the public that would like to know, they will eat their chips and wonder why they are watching this program. IF this about sex and TV ratings who cares. People who know this sport will continue to educate those who do not know.
Loved the fact a few weeks ago many here got educated on how to be greatful for running as a 1-D average winner for a 28 year old trailer. AND yes my reading friends there is a corallation. THINK ABOUT IT.
No harm no foul....is where I see this whole program going. ;-)

Does it make it right? No. But it is a fact of life. Nothing new. If someone judges all barrel racers by one show then they are the idiot. They probably also milk comes from the grocery store and not from cows. |

According to the article, Marvel Murphy and Barbra West will be in the series. I know for a fact Marvel Murphy is a pro barrel racer as she is from our home state. She also grew up doing high school rodeo and is a tough competitor. Barb West has a website showing her accomplishments as a pro barrel racer and champion of the DNCFR in 2009. So I'm guessing the poster with the bikini is an A&E promotional poster from their think tank promoting the show. Problem is real barrel racers will be offended but probably not the rest of the public. I will be tuning in but hope they don't make us look like a three ring circus!
