Its just a side pot, but I have seen them. So of course they will head to the steamy shots to push the show. If barrel racres don't want to be seen that way, they shouldn't have those kind of races. A blast from the past!

Darcy Lapier representing our industry is just what we need! lets let the public know we have affairs with every millionaire we lay eyes on and have inherited our millions from divorce settlements.. DISGUSTING. i dont care if darcy lapier is a barrel racer. heck i never knew she was one...must not be that great..only thing I knew her as was a gold digger. I know this comment is going to get the brunt of the girls who want to defend her but really....try and defend her... go ahead! love that she is going to be giving a true representation of all of us classy girls! NOT.

I know one of the girls refused to participate in it because she had the same views as everyone ranting on here. Why jump the gun and assume that everyone will look and act like that?
Because it's reality TV and to get ratings they will play up the drama and edit the show to make all the characters look like drama queens. |

I'm not gonna lie, it is pretty amusing.
Not saying I didn't take part in it either
Personally, I think most reality TV shows are intolerable to watch, no matter the subject lol |

Location: OK | I would be in a bikini race, but only because I would mentally scar the competition, which would give me an advantage lol
It does say rodeo girls, not jackpot girls, and I've never heard of a bikini race at a rodeo, but just like every other "reality" show out there, besides Duck Dynasty of course, not much reality. I think everybody knows that right? So really, who cares.
Lets just start a show ourselves, Broke Barrel Racers. I'll be the star.... |

| Maybe the real women who are the higher ranked competitors are the ones really standing by their convictions and refusing to fall for Hollywood's plots. Maybe whoever they chose for the poster decided that fame and participating in such a run meant more than morals and her faith. For a community of people to say they dont judge people by their looks its pretty much ironic to see so many fingers pointing.
Just remember when pointing you have three other fingers pointing back at you. |

Location: Oz, Kansas | I think we should all email the producers pictures of us in our bikinis turning the 2nd barrel & prove to them that these aren't everyday barrel racers because most of the girls I run with wouldn't look that good without A LOT of photoshopping, myself included.
I also think she needs a lesson on wrapping her polos.

Here's another article: A&E films ‘Rodeo Girls’ show in Cody, Wyominghttp://www.codyenterprise.com/news/local/article_627c251e-d515-11e2-ad0c-001a4bcf887a.htmlAccording to the article, Marvel Murphy and Barbra West will be in the series. I know for a fact Marvel Murphy is a pro barrel racer as she is from our home state. She also grew up doing high school rodeo and is a tough competitor. Barb West has a website showing her accomplishments as a pro barrel racer and champion of the DNCFR in 2009. So I'm guessing the poster with the bikini is an A&E promotional poster from their think tank promoting the show. Problem is real barrel racers will be offended but probably not the rest of the public. I will be tuning in but hope they don't make us look like a three ring circus!
The girl in the poster is on the show too...I've seen it on her Instagram, getting all made up to "work" for the show. HA! It's been entertaining to see... |

| So I didn't read everybody's posts but I have noticed not only a large discussion here but on facebook as well over this show and I have to say that as a group these type of threads and discussions make us look exactly like the drama "Queens" we are insisting that we aren't. Why not use a show like this, whether it is acurate or not and use it as a podium to promote our sport? Watch the show and focus these discussions on the parts that have some merit... use it to promote the rodeos that the show was filmed at or even as something that the uninformed can use to get interested in barrel racing. Instead of being so negative, if we would focus on the positives then I truely think that we would be able to unlock some new "blood" for our sport. Unfortunately the reason producers portray the scandalus side of life is because that is what sells. Even the fact that the show is getting this much attention on social media for an advertisement is why we would see a poster of a girl at a bikini barrel race over one in more traditional clothing. And I'm sorry but I don't believe that out of all of you who post on these threads that none of you have ever ran into the "rodeo queen" barrel racers. They exist everywhere and I know that even when I pull in to a pro rodeo that there are going to be girls entered that focus more on chasing cowboys then anything else. Perhaps we need to be a little more realistic about our world in general and realize that there are the ladies out there who really do live the wholesome life and take the sport and the cowboy way of life seriously but there are just as many who don't. I agree that it would be nice to focus on and promote the more wholesome side, but we can't do that by sitting here and getting our feathers in a bunch over a TV series that has already been filmed...
