You'll see it here first. I read over this whole post about once a month just to remind myself of how lucky CC and I are how the stars aligned and all the prayers that kept us going. I got what I felt was a very meaningful compliment from her vet that did the surgery the other day. He had called, the university is doing reviews and asked for clients names to send review questions out to. Dr. Katzman called to ask if it was okay if he gave them my email address. I said "of course, after all you are the reason she was given this opportunity to survive ", Dr. Katzman said "well thank you, but no, you did that. I was just one of the therapies you used to make it happen for her". What a cool thing to say.

A testament to a great horse mom that wouldn't give up---I've been lucky enough to visit with several on here.

Started CC on the Cur-Ost Stomach about a week ago and after talking to Dr. Schell will be changing to Total Support eventually.. Went for a trail ride on Monday night down the creek. CC hates trail riding, she finds no comfort or Zen in bunnies and deer popping out of bushes, she 'd normally much rather lope a circle in "her space" and leave the wild life to do its thing without her. On the way out you normally have to direct her like a 2 year old colt, guide, guide, guide, with legs and hands as any noise is her signal to inhale her head and turn for home at high speed flight. And the ride home is usually kind of like the Belmont and let me tell you she has the lungs and legs to do it. Monday I could have loped some circles around out trotting track but I figured the creek would give me an even better test of where she is and how the Cur-ost was working for her...or not.
Now she didnt' win trail horse of the year by any means, however she walked down the creek without me having to constantly pick her up and guide her, she wasn't looking at every noise as a reason to bolt and head back, and on the way home we were actually able to long trot and lope and little without it turning into a Triple Crown outing and my arms coming out of their sockets. Can't wait to see how she handles with another week on this product :-)

Okay, so started CC and Tucker on the Total Support about a week and a half ago. Saturday CC and I went to a race, the first one since May and she hasn't seen a barrel since May either, have just been riding in the creek or around the trotting track my fiancΓ© worked up for us. She stood at the trailer quietly, no pawing, for her this is huge. Before at times she would get so worked up she would literally stand and kick both hind feet at the trailer. You normally have to time your warm up and her run or she washes herself out in the warm up pen stressing. If you do happen to get on too early then you are best off getting off and handwalking, there was no such thing as "hanging out" till your turn. I'm sure a lot of that probably had some to do with the bladder stone before we knew about it, but even in May after the stone had been removed she was a little amped up at the trailer and in the warm up.
Anyway, she stood quietly at the trailer, even ate from her hay bag, unheard of. Signed up and saddled her, went and warmed up, loped thru a really nice little time only. I do not normally do time only's on her but she hadn't seen the barrels since May and she isn't the type of horse to look for a barrel, LOL!!! Took her back to the trailer as I had drawn #27, race started at noon and it was still 10:45. Took her boots off and loosened her cinch. Used to just unsaddle her all together so she wouldn't be a foaming wet mess by race time. Hung out with her for a little while just to make sure she was really feeling okay, again, her being quiet at the trailer isn't normal, LOL!!! She was happy munching on her hay and watching horses go by so I took my dog for a walk about. Put her boots back on her as they started to put the barrels on the stakes and work the arena up for the first drag. Trotted her a bit around the pasture/parking lot and then headed to the worked up area in front of the arena at draw number 11. Before this would have been too early, you had to get her there maybe one drag before yours...She was even able to stand and hang out with other horses and just chill. I'd walk her a couple laps every now and then to keep her mind on me, took her in to the arena at the drag before 20 and loped some circles then went back out and just walked her in the warm up area till our turn. She ran the prettiest smoothest pattern I have ever been on on her and her second fastest time in this particular pen ever and that by a mere .02 and that run was back in 2012 before the bladder and kidney stones and she was super fit getting ready for our first Pendleton trip. The kind of run that puts an ear to ear grin on your face no matter the time announced. She went in and worked the pattern on her honor, didnt' have to over handle her. She cooled out nicely, normally I have to take her back to the trailer ad unsaddle her and hand walk her to cool her out, this time was able to ride her for the cool out, then unsaddle her and let her roll and do our maintenance routine.
I'd have to definitely say I felt the benefits that Cur_ost claims for her this weekend. She even drank which is usually a no go with her too.

Rode CC down the creek last night about 5 miles and long trotted about 2 of them on and off on the nice sand bars...I know she is getting more fit but again, just seemed more comfortable in general when we got home, had more air and the quail blowing out of the brush didn't get me lawn darted, she jumped but then went back to walking along on a loose rein. Normally when she reacts she then over reacts to reacting and it becomes a snowball effect. Bi-polar much??? Not since I had her on the Keep Cool 24/7 for 6 months a few years back has she been this level headed but now I have the support to for her stomach with it. Or maybe its that I have the support for her stomach and the level head comes with it...

My gelding had an appt. to recheck the right front abscess area that they drilled out on Oct. 10, see how it was filling in. Vet watched him walk on hard crappy ground and when Tucker passed that as well as trotting circles he almost decided to just leave the pack on there that they had but then curiosity got the best of all of us, LOL!!! The area looks great, refilling nicely, repacked and will then reset him right before Thanksgiving. He has also been on the Total Support from Cur-Ost .
I took CC with me just to get her out and let her hang since for the last 2 years most of her trailer rides have been back and forth to the vet and for exams. She stood relatively quietly in the cross ties while we were busy with Tucker. Dr. Wally was super impressed with how she looked and behaved. Took them home and got my big mare ridden and then the lady I've been trying get back together with for a lesson since the day CC first passed blood called and said she had time if I could get there in the next 1/2 hour, so tossed CC back in the trailer and headed out and took our 2nd lesson that has been a long 1.5 years coming!!!! She was awesome!!!! The instructor was really impressed with how far she has come even though she really liked her that day back in April of 2014, just so much more relaxed and open minded. We worked pretty hard for a little over an hour, mostly the adjustments made were mine. After the lesson I was able to stay on her and walk her out, again, as I've told you normally when I've practice on barrels or ran her I have to get off and unsaddle her to walk her out or she just gets amped up. The motor is still there, the fire is still there but its just has a calm to it now that was missing and hindered her before.
The other thing I forgot to update on is when I spoke to Dr. Schell on the phone with Cur_Ost he was saying that the kidney stones are tied in with the inflammation process. Having a direct link to the digestive tract and poor assimilation of nutrients which leads to accumulations.
Interesting...

I too had the calming, level results when I put my mare on the Total Support. She wasn't dead or sleepy, just calm and focused. Just acted like life is good let's go have fun mom. I was amazed how good she looked after being on it. This is the only product I can honestly say I have seen awesome results after putting my horse on it.

Makes me so happy!  The Cur-OST product has been a miracle for my horse, has almost completely eliminated my need for antihistamines, and has done amazing things for one of my coworkers.  It's something i'll never be without and so happy to have found them!

So happy to hear about your guys' success!  I've been using the Cur-Ost on myself and can not believe the difference in my knees! If I eat sugar my knees would hurt so bad I would cry just trying to stand up from a chair or toilet where I couldn't push myself up with my arms. Cutting out sugar/processed food helped a ton but now with the Cur-Ost my knees are COMPLETELY pain free even if I do eat bad for a couple days! This was after my dr. basically told me there was nothing she could do and nothing was "wrong". I'm only in my 20's and have no reason for my knees to hurt so bad. My back still hurts but I've only gotten one of my super bad neck-to-head aches that I was getting a couple times a month. I'd get them at work and they would hurt so bad I'd leave in tears and spend the whole evening on the couch with heating pads on my neck and ice on my forehead to get rid of the pain. Looking forward to trying the horsey version for Cash to see if it will give him that little extra boost with his KS and allergies.

So we went to our first 2 day race in a little over 4 years. I hadn't wanted to run her back to back days like that after she fractured the patella and then we had the stone issues and were out for almost 2 years. CC has been on the Total Support from Cur-ost for a little over a month now, took her down on Friday night to do a time only as she has never been in this particular arena before. She was unbelievable. Saturday again, stood quiet at the trailer, ate her hay, totally chill. Warmed up nicely in the big warm up pen with all the multitude of horses going 97 different directions around her. This used to just blow her mind and you'd be in for a little rodeo session and at least one offer to "fight or flight"....
On her run I bobbled my reins some when leaving the first, caused a hitch on the way to the second but she just kept on keeping on. Not the fastest by any means but just a few places out of the checks in the 4D and more importantly a happy healthy mare afterwards. Though my competitiveness got the best of me the next day and lost my mind, instead of sticking with the plan of just putting clean runs together my inner LETS DO THIS personality decided to "win the whole dang thing" and spanked her headed to the first, she grabbed a few new gears and if you know me I'm the worlds biggest chicken headed to the first, I'm one of those win the 12D to the first and then kick and hustle to win it the rest of the way. So needless to say I froze up, hauled on her head and pulled her around, ending up on the entry side of the 1st barrel, me thinking "how the he** did you do that???" and CC thinking "Okay, I did what you said, can I take it from here please???"
So yep, highs and lows of the weekend but I'm just super proud of her, how she handled herself, how she dealt with the crazies in the warm up pen...she used to be THAT horse, LOL! And more importantly thankful to God for this little Warrior of mine, she has taught me so much about as long as you keep trying you ain't done. In fact the 20th is her Surgery Success Anniversary!!!! can't believe it has been almost exactly a year

I am so doing somersaults and standing on my head for you and your kids. (In my head and heart of course!!) I love hearing the Cur-ost success stories on here. It's just great when something does what it says and helps our partners feel better. Keep reporting on CC and Tucker and the great things y'all are accomplishing.

I can't believe the difference in my big mare in a month...a month ago I was too embarrassed of how she looked to take a picture of her. Her weight was good but her hair coat looked horrible and she just looked unloved and forgotten. After I started CC and Tucker on the Total Support I still had the Stomach and Green from when I had ordered before I talked to Dr. Schell so I figured I'd use it on Poopie as she was needing something but I just wasn't sure what and or why....She has been on it for about a month now and the other day when I pulled the blanket off my fiancΓ© was like "Wow! She looks really really good!!! " He never comments on them, he'd kind of prefer to ignore that we have horses, as he can imagine all the vacations and things we'd own if we didnt' have horses, LOL!!!
I've changed nothing else on them, we still are feeding the Beardless Wheat/grain hay, timothy pellets and renew Gold, just added the Cur_Ost. And mine are in turnout 24/7.

I'm so thrilled for you and am tickled Ms. CC is doing well and thriving, as well as your other kiddos.  You're so right....it ain't over until we say it's over and I truly am so thankful we have found the Cur-OST product and Dr. Schell.  He has helped so many of us when it seemed there was no hope.  My horse is also a different horse emotionally than he used to be, as well as physically of course.  Smokingirlie's mare looks RIDICULOUS too and I can't wait to hear about another who is almost a week in for breathing issues.

Thank you for sharing CC's journey with us and please continue to do so.  She is a warrior and your posts always make me smile!
