Location: 31 lengths farms | So could use some prayers. CC was acting colicky yesterday afternoon, pawed and kicked at her belly a few times, her gut noises were not strong, though her refill time was good and her gums were nice and pink. I gave her a dose of Immediate Response, banamine and an electrolyte paste and tied her up for about 15 minutes to watch her while I unloaded hay. I then walked her for about 15 minutes and checked gut noises and respiratory again, gut noises were much better but respiratory was still a little high. Hung out with her for another half hour and her respiratory had come down to normal. That was at around 5:30 pm, checked on her several times before bed, she seemed to be feeling much better and then when I checked on her at 1 am I finally found some fresh poop piles and she was interested in eating a little. Another fresh pile this morning so fed her lightly and then at noon she had another fresh pile of poop and about attacked me for carrots. I gave her another dose of Immediate REsponse and some electrolytes.
I just know with her kidney issues that we are not totally out of the woods yet....Prayers for my girl would be appreciated. |

Location: 31 lengths farms | She was doing well last night, attacked me for carrots, gave her just enough oats to put her Cur_ost and kidney herbs in, which she ate promptly and then dug into her hay. Checked on her again at @9pm last night, seemed comfortable and had eaten her hay. We are getting hammered with rain now, she ate her carrots this morning again with gusto but didn't seem too interested in her hay. Will be going home at noon again to check on her, thank you for your prayers everyone, please keep them coming. |

Location: 31 lengths farms | Went home at lunch...she had eaten all of her hay from this morning, attacked me for carrots. Checked respiratory rate and gums, both looked good, gave her small flake of hay which she went to eating on and was still eating when I pulled out. |

Location: 31 lengths farms | Yes, nice to see her eye full of her usual "moxie", hoping this means we are on the safe side of things but will keep a close eye on her for sure for the next week or so with her other issues.
Anyone know the rain dance? Could you do it in reverse for me please? We are getting hammered and creeks are flooding. |

We don't have rain right now but the MS River levee closest to us is literally sliding down like icing on a warm cake. I've never seen anything like it in my life, and I've seen high water, and sand boils, and "bad spots" on this levee my whole life. It hasn't crested yet, and I'm very scared. . . .
Back to Miss CC---so glad she's perky again and feeling like herself. I'll say another little prayer for her tonight. . . . |

Location: 31 lengths farms | Chandler's Mom, I've seen the video, this is crazy for this time of year for you guys too isn't it? Dont' you guys usually get the flooding in the spring when ice starts to break up? Praying for you...too bad my momma weren't still here, she actually tried to do the rain dance in reverse for me one time when I was whining one day about the rain..20 minutes later it actually gave us a break for a few hours, LOL!!! |

That's too funny---I can just picture it! Yes, usually it's spring when this happens. It seems like it's more frequent now too. I wish I could post the pictures Chandler took from the levee; it was surreal. I appreciate the thoughts and prayers so much.
CC still good? |

And as for CC, we seem to have gotten her little red ship back on track. Thanks for the prayers everyone!!! I also doubled up on her kidney herbs for a week and that also seemed to get her back on track. |

Good news for your girl
We got about 2 inches overnight, but things are still holding. We've got off and on cold and mostly sunshine predicted for the next week or so; praying the water level will go down and stay down. Thanks so much for asking. How about your weather situation? |
