| The cancer in the lungs is gone... the tumor has shrunk. He won't need radiation on his lungs, just his abdomen area. It's been a very long day, but full of positive news! He's going in for surgery to remove the tumor on the 26th, he will lose that kidney and we are looking at 9 more chemo treatments and about 6-14 radiation treatments .. we have a long road ahead of us but I feel we've got this licked! Thank you so much for the prayers ... God bless |

| Trying to mentally prepare myself to go thru the extended hospital stay and what we were told a very lengthy surgery, they told us it will most likely be an all day surgery. Jacobs dr told us the surgeon that's working on Jacob is the absolute best of the best in his opinion, that means the world to us because we were also assured that our dr is the best! So we have an amazing team. We were told to expect him to stay in the hospital for a minimum of 6 days. Luckily, the hospital isn't too far from our home, so I'm hoping I'll be able to come home at least a few times. I've got myself some decent books I've been meaning to read but have put off so maybe I'll be able to actually read them! And I've got a laptop. Right now I just need to enjoy our time at home and enjoy the luxuries of being at home lol! Hospitals aren't exactly the comfort inn... going to cook as much as I can so my other kiddos and husband don't live on sonic while I'm gone! |

Luckily, the hospital isn't too far from our home, so I'm hoping I'll be able to come home at least a few times. Right now I just need to enjoy our time at home and enjoy the luxuries of being at home lol! Hospitals aren't exactly the comfort inn... going to cook as much as I can so my other kiddos and husband don't live on sonic while I'm gone!
It will, I'm sure, be a trying time. But look how far y'all have already come! Folks around the country are gonna continue to lift Jacob and your family in God's name, with love and expected healing. I do hope someone will give you time to go home and rest in your own bed once you see that Jacob is on the mend.You will need to get rest and plenty of it.Drink plenty of water !!!!!!!!Take time to take care of you!!!What hospital will he be in?We sure will be here for you,and most of the time im a late owl so even if it's the middle of the night we will be here for you momma:))) |

| We definitely have come a long way. I'm sorry, didn't mean to sound like I was complaining, I'm very grateful for his health and how he's easing thru this treatment, we are very lucky and blessed to have it pretty easy because I know there are children and parents who have it way worse than we do. We are one of the lucky ones. His energy levels are something to be reckoned with the last few days! I'm exhausted lol! We are all ready to face this head on and get jacob thru the surgery, I believe that's going to be the hardest part for him. He will recover and hopefully that'll be the last surgery he has to have! |

You didn't sound as if you were complaining at all!!!! I cannot even image everything you have been through and what you are still preparing for.You are the strongest mom I've seen in awhile!!!!! Always thinking of you and not a day goes by that I don't think of Jacob as well.Now...back to your prepaing for surgery...go get some sleep!!!lol |

I got an automated message from our school about their annual talent show they put on... it costs money to come and they have lots of door prizes and games, just a whole night of family fun... the message said all proceeds from the show will go to Jacob and childhood cancer research .... it just warms my heart so much how our tiny community has embraced jacob and everywhere I go in town people I don't even recognize are asking me about him. |
