No, looking for something to ride now. After I lost my mare I just haven't found "the one" that I want to try and get going. I have had a couple but just didn't have the right fit. I loved my Dashin Bye and have been looking for another one. Preferring a filly.

Hope you find the one, shopping can be a long and frustrating process, especially when you know exactly what you're looking for. Haven't seen a whole lot of his daughters for sale. Don't know if that's because there aren't many out there or because people aren't selling. Maybe there'll be something at Heritage Place in January.

I have a strong strong weakness for Pritzi daughters!! I had a really really nice Furyofthewind daughter who was out of a Pritzi mare.
I have a Pritzi daughter that is a 3/4 sister to Catchmeinyourdreams that is bred this year to our stud, and half brother to Furyofthewind, Flyingwitheagles. We are breeding her back to Fury this year & I cannot wait for that baby.
Fury is also Triple crown & Future Fortunes so your baby could be very marketable to both the barrel pen & track.

We also give GREAT (wink, wink) considerations to our stud too!

I would love to give Triple Vodka a try on my Grand-d of Firewater Flit, if I were looking to breeding my mare. But I would be looking more into the ruinning barrels part.   He's got alot of class

is that your final answer

I looked at the mare's data given by the owner and it shows no babies since 2008 which tells me there is a problem with the mare getting in foal or carrying a foal.

I looked at the 3 winners that won a decent amount of money and then looked at how many years it took them and added up the cost by month of keeping them in race training along with the normal expenses not even counting the automatic 5- 10% each for jockey and trainer which made the owner in the red or showing only beer money for being the owner of any of these 3 horses.

There are a lot of good deals to be had in the 4k-7k price range at the La yearling sale ... the thing you have to remember is ... horses bred to run in La are very seldom successful outside of La and vice versa ... La tracks are heavy deep dirt and horses are bred to run in it vs the shallow hard fast surfaces in other states.

So.. what is the fuss?? Owner of the mare asked what we would do if we owned the mare.... and yes .. my answer still stands ... If I bought a well bred filly per my stallion pick I would be racing next year and not 3 years from now or having expensive mare problems if the mare does have problems per her breeding record ... ...

And if the filly could run out some money and speed index I would have a nice broodmare with current bloodlines to breed to the stallion of my choice that has been very successful on the track or breeding shed .... IMO.. This looks like a much brighter future than the other choice of breeding the mare.

LRQHS, you are EEEEEVIL!!! If you are going to post links to mares for sale, PLEASE put a warning for me NOT TO LOOK if there are Zan Parr Bar descendants. ESPECIALLY if they have Flit Bar on the other side of the pedigree!!!! Just saw that Flit to Kill daughter, that is out of a daughter of Zan Parr Deck. ( My broodmare is a daughter of Zan Parr Deck, out of Fire Water Flit daughter and i have been wanting 34689754 more bred similarly.)

If you want Louisiana bred, check out Corona Caliente who is now at Hart Farms! He is awesome and so are his colts.

Interesting thread. What I would advise for breeding for the track:
1) Look at the Speedhorse Stallion Register and see the average price of the yearlings of the stallions I was interested in (obviously you can't do this on Triple Vodka since he doesn't have any yet).
2) Take into consideration how much the stallion won and if he had a long career. Rarely do we breed to anything that hasn't won at leat $100,000. Reason being is that there are a lot of stallions out there that accomplished that mark so why breed to one that didn't? Unless he had a legitimate excuse that was no fault of his own (best example I know of is Pappasito because he was crippled by a joint infection). If a stallion simply didn't run because of lack of try or ability, do you really want to maybe get the same thing if you breed to him?
3) The dam of a stallion MUST be a black type producer and have a solid pedigree with black type in it. Historically very few stallions with no black type have gone on to be sires. The one exception I can think of off the top of my head would be Super De Kas.
4) Do a pedigree research and see if historically horses that have the same basic pedigree as the resulting foal of this mating end up being successful. There is a reason why people always recommend something like Special Effort crossed on Dash For Cash. It's because time and time again that cross has been proven.

Have fun and best of luck in making your decision!

Thought I would add that in the case of Triple Vodka... while his dam is fairly young, she has already more than proven herself as a producer with the few she has had.

I like Triple Vokda, I also like this young stallion. He is owned by a friend of ours (who is a BB here) and they sent him out to LA to breed. I loved watching him off the start, he was a rocket. He is on my too breed to list....
