Krauthammer said it perfectly when he said Obama acts like someone on a Whitehouse tour who stumbled into the Oval office and thinks they're President. LOVE IT!

Interesting analogy the other day with a new definition of a Liberal " A Liberal is someone who wants to believe anyway they choose, and they want you to believe that way too".

Two words: "Socialist Utopia".
That sums up the ultimate goal of the progressives.  The Rolling Stone isn't usually what comes to mind when I think of solutions or fiscal matters.  This Rolling Stone editorial writer sounds like he is trying to appeal to the younger voters when he espouses a socialist utopia model.  This offers some insight into Obama's proclaimed agenda of income equality, etc... in the coming year.  In reality, what he is really trying to do is lure the young, disenfranchised, pis$ed off voters back into his camp.  Right now, because of the lies and deceptions related to ObamaCare, most young people diapprove of the job Obozo is doing.  There has been a huge shift in numbers among the youth.  Obama's approval numbers have hovered in the 40s for quite some time.  The hardcore left makes up at least 40% of the voters in this country.  When you see Obama's numbers approaching 40% you know he's in self-preservation mode, because Obama can poop on them and they would still adore the man.
Thanks for sharing this, Joy.  That Schapiro is one bright young man.

HotbearLVR - 2014-01-06 8:28 PM Why did Laura Bush go to Africa?  Just curious.  I can't imagine it was a birthday present!  LOL  Isn't this Obozo's birthday present to Michelle?

OK....see, I've fallen into the trap!  All kidding aside, I hope Michele gets on AF1 and keeps flying around the world for the next 1000 days or so!

Maybe then we can focus on tyranny and a dysfunctional government.
Mrs. Bush went as the representative of the President and the USA in the HIV/Aid program and for the betterment of women and their education.....hardly a vacation. I do agree there a more important things to worry about however if how much this president and his wife spend on a vacation motivates someone to get off there rear and vote than let them B**** away. Dismissing them just because you and NJJ think it is moot I think is vary short sited. I do not care what motivates anyone as long as they vote. Apathy will kill this country before anything else does.
JB, you are correct. And I could not agree with you more. Your history is correct to boot! Laura Bush's trips to Africa were not personal vacations! The turth of the matter is this Current Adminstration is so incompenent and sorry that 'They' make Jimmy Carter and The Peanut Farmer Adminstration's actions look like Certified Geniuses! Your assessment of the HBL and NJJ's views being short sighted is dead on. Anything that or any action that continues to get the Voting Public's Attention and exposure to these Bonehead's Incompetence is a good thing. This idea cannot be disputed!
Nice to see you Clay, but you completely miss my point.  My reference to Laura Bush was facetious.  I knew why she went to Africa, and it wasn't for a vacation.  What is so hard to comprehend here?  I too am miffed by the excesses, HOWEVER, by comparison, this misuse of taxpayer funds is nothing compared to the huge problems we are facing.  If we want to get all up in arms over something, then I say we direct our vitriol toward any number of huge looming issues.  To get mad, simply for the purpose of venting rage, is exactly what they want to see.  Sure, go ahead and show your outrage, but then I say redirect your energy to things that matter most.

This serves as a diversion away from things like ObamaCare.  This administration is feeling the heat from all directions on ObamaCare....to funnel the focus away from the big issues is exactly what they want.  This tactic is time honored from domestic quarrels to football, to the battlefield.

Did you happen to watch Judge Napalitano's video?

I can see your point and do not disagree with it in theory and principle. However, My Point Stands, in the context that any kind of illegimate behavior or actions from this 'bunch' brings more microscopical scrutiny into ALL their actions and decisions. This is a GOOD THING!

agree.. we used to not want to shut up .. get it all Out there.. small is big in the realm of things.

Here's another way of looking at this.  We all have certain limits when it comes to discussing or debating a given topic in the course of a given day.  Let's say I have an hour of free time where I can come on here or some social media site and get engaged with others over a particular issue.  Let's say we have three ongoing threads, each discussing a particular issue.  One is federal tax reform, the next is term limits, and the third is the obscene luxurious trips taken by the Obamas at taxpayer expense.  Personally, I would prefer term limits and/or tax reform over Obama vacations.  Why?  Simple.....because there is nothing to discuss!  Everyone agrees on matters such at this where there is lavish spending at taxpayer's expense.  What's there to debate?  There's plenty to discuss about tax reform and term limits.  All I have to say about Michele's "birthday present" at taxpayer expense is "hmpfffff!!!"  I won't take the bait.

Once again we as a nation need to hold all of "them" accountable and that is something that has not been done..........and something we can start in 2014..........maybe a little post like this will get someone less involved in the political process interested in making a difference....
It is an $800,000.00 birthday gift from us...........

(Thankx Njj...at least I know I'm not 'completely' crazy!)

I like to stay up on what other's are thinking, mainly because I truly believe that we all have something to bring to the table...and where there's smoke there's fire!  I even try  to imagine if some of these ideas can work. IS capitalism the problem?
It's so complicated, yet, so simple...and everything is related, from religion, politics, physchology, phylosophy, greed, good & evil.  It would be wonderful if socialism worked!  How simple that would be...unfortunately, it just doesn't.
It cannot.
So where do we go?  What do we do?
We don't even have a real voice in our own small communities!  How can we ever hope to have a voice in National issues?  The only way is through our Congressmen & our Sheriffs.  That is where the real power lies.
And...like it or not,  we MUST get off the do-gooder bandwagon!  I know sooooo many  people who would back the Tea Party IF they'd get off the far right religious stuff.  There is a platform that would unite the citizens...one that truly embraces Freedom & Liberty...as at this point they all espouse 'certain' freedoms, but, not ALL.
We don't/can't trust each other.  Too many of those in 'power' have used their positions for personal gain...and I'm not just speaking of politicians.
It's a dog eat dog world & no amount of legislation is going to change that!

loveyatx - 2014-01-06 10:53 AM Its the lavishness of his vacations. Golf resorts costing $78,000 a day, skiing in Aspen. And the split vacations or trips where we are charged doubly for secret service, transportation, lodging like when the daughters went to Atlantis in the Bahamas and when Michelle went to Spain and Europe, by herself. I think we have to take the whole family's trips into account. At least when Bush went home to Texas, he was chopping wood and I'm pretty sure they didn't have to bill us for lodging, meals, entertainment. Sorry, but no comparison. The Obamas are enjoying living like fatcats and you know it.

Yep and Obama criticizes the wealthy. How do all these wealthy liberals continue to get away with bashing the wealthy?
And remember when the story cam out that Bush has his Texas ranch mostly self-sustainable, ie solar panels, water cisterns, etc and his ranch is more environmentally friendly than Al Gore's mansion?
Plus he did more to eradicate AIDS in Africa that any other president in history, yet he's a rich racist white man??????

I agree.  I'm not suggesting anyone "calm down" or lighten the rhetoric.  I hope people get stirred up, at Obama, AND our government in general!  We are being suffocated by regulations, controls, invasion of our privacy, and taxes.  More and more our government is insinuating itself into our lives and usurping power and freedom.  The very people our government is ostensibly trying to help are, in many instances, harmed the most.  This is why Judge Napolitano's video resonated so much with me.  Getting upset over excess spending of taxpayer dollars for a birthday present is fine, and it does serve a purposes, kinda like kicking the dog.  That's about all, though.
