batkitty - 2014-03-04 4:36 PM I think her best comment about the alley was in the booth when she said, "They put up a banner, which is good, because I was worried that someone was going to get a barrel racer in their nachos." (or something similar). Even Ty laughed at that.

That was cute!

hlynn - 2014-03-04 2:44 PM Hubby and I both said that we believe she missed her calling. She was great at commentating. We only HEARD the live running of the barrels, since we were on the interstate headed south from Pittsburgh and the webcast wouldn't load, but I enjoyed it. And I'll admit, I was skeptical of her being up there. I wonder how she felt when the guy mentioned she was one spot out of the NFR standings to qualify AND one spot out of the qualifier results to qualify. I was hoping she would punch him or at least say "At least I made the effort loser face". LOL

I don't understand why you would say that as being one out of something wasn't a great accomplishment? If you had seen it live you would have seen how much she liked that recognition as being one out as it was said during the semis and during the finals and trust me..if she didn't want it brought up she would have let them know..LOL She loved the recognition as she should have been.

I thought the entire commentating was awesome.  And I too was skeptical of Fallon, not being a big fan of hers.  But after the semi-finals I was impressed.  She was very positive, didn't judge the riding, etc.  I get so sick and tired of Butch from the NFR and his comments....he says the same stinkin' thing every night and whether the horse shouldered or not, you can be that is what he is going to say....  I agree, gotta give credit where credit is due and she was the BEST barrel racing commentator I have heard yet.

I really enjoyed Roy Cooper, was surprised by how great he did.  Billy Etbauer was also great!  I enjoyed the whole thing.  I missed the pre-game show, we forgot to set the DVR.  I hope the American comes back again!!!

My favorite was during the last round of the calf roping when Roy said "I've been to ___# of County Fair Rodeo's, ___# of NFR's, I've seen Mike Tyson fight, I've been to rock concerts, I saw George Strait in this very stadium and I ain't never seen nothing like this!!!"  (not the exact quote, but something like that)  Rock on RFDTV!!!

The way he said it made it sound like he was mentioning how she was one away from being good enough to be there. That's how it sounded to me anyways.

I wish they would hire her for the NFR instead of Charmayne. Just my two cents. When she's not into qualifying for it anymore anyways.

I agree...she was laughing and joking with Justin McKee and he certainly wasn't puttting her down.....He was recognizing her accomplishments.......I just wish she wouldn't have talked quite as much or a little slower but you could tell that she was "excited" to be there.....

Can we agree not to go there for a change? This has been a positive, upbeat thread. Let's not kill it. I think this has put a lot of people with cabin fever in a good mood.

Lol! That's funny. When we were in the arena Sunday morning there wasn't a banner, she had a big part in getting the banner put there... Luckily the suite behind the alley was vacant, or someone might have had a heart attack!

Β Absolutely took it wrong. Β He was said she was a 5 time NFR qualifier and just one out from making the American. Β He was stating her credentials, why she was asked to be a commentator- validating her experience.

I too was not a huge fan until hearing this side of her. She's really talented. I almost wish she wouldn't be on the road so she can do the commentating at the NFR
