Location: Somewhere between raising hell and Amazing Grace | Good news, both ovaries looked just fine, no issues. He even took photos and showed us (not that I can remember what the photos looked like now). When he did the internal ulstrasound he saw what he thought was the left ovary adhered to the uterus and something about it just didn't look right. Well, it turns out it was the colon adhered to the uterus, not the ovary, which is why it looked funny.
He detached that, removed some endo, and will biopsy it.
Bad news, the endometriosis is significantly bad. Worse then expected. He did not want to try to remove it all for fear of doing more harm with all the scarring, so he will see me in four weeks to discuss treatments/options/etc.
HUGE kudos to the OR staff in getting me cared for and home. In the past, anesthesia issues have kept me at least overnight or even several days. Not only do I get very sick and can't keep anything down, I shake so bad afterwards that I can't even breathe.
They had all the meds prepped and waiting for me when I woke up. I broke my left hand really bad years ago and they even had a heated blanket for it since it hurts really bad when it gets cold :). They were able to control the shaking within minutes and boy did that make all the difference. I think I was in recovery 2-3 hours and not once did they make me feel rushed to get out of there, even when I was the very last one to leave :)
I still can't eat, but I am drinking more. So going to keep up with that and try to eat again tonight. I'm not nearly as sore as I thought which is great, so overall, things are going really really well. Thank you again. |

Location: Somewhere between raising hell and Amazing Grace | Thank you. Anybody have suggestions on foods to try to start keeping solids down? I'm drinking ok. Not a lot but keeping it down. Soup and broth is a big no. I am thinking of trying toast but am nervous about trying anything else. I haven't eaten since Thursday afternoon |

Sprite is the only thing I can drink right now. I don't have any jello here at the house because it's not something we normally eat and I wasn't even thinking about getting stuff for this.
I just ate two pieces of toast, so far so good :).....
Hubby has to run up to the store later and I'll have him get some jello. |
