I live with my pasty ass all day every day anddddd skin cancer runs in my family so I think I know that I need to wear sunscreen. Keep laughin biotches, atleast I won't be lookin like a leather handbag someday. I get this a lot when it turns summer especially. My rant is over...lol |

It is easy to coach from the couch or behind a desk all day and talk the talk but by gosh get your A$$ out there and prove yourself instead of latching onto what others say. Ok, my pet peeve vent is over, is this anyone elses pet peeve?
Sometimes the proof is in the horses they sell.. how they are and what they can accomplish ..it isnt all about going in the arena and proving yourself to others.. I dont know about you but I ride and train for myself not to show off or feel the need to "prove" myself to others.. when you train horses.... your work shows for itself.. no proof needed.. |

Haha! I wonder if really tan people get, "wow, you're so DARK. Don't you think you need sunscreen?"
And to the OP - who cares. Put them in the fan category and be appreciative. :-) |

Location: Minnesota | I hate that also!! Although in a recent situation, last year a girl that I graduated HS with decided that she was going to be involved in the "rodeo" circuit. She dated a guy that comes from a family who contracts stock so she wanted to play the part. She at least grew up with horses, but gaited horses. Never been on a QH in her life. She took it above and beyond and decided to run for Ms Rodeo MN..LIED threw her teeth to get sponsors saying that she barrel raced her whole life and won this and won that blah blah blah. She WON. How I have no idea. So then she gets to these rodeos and has to do queens rides...very apparent at this point that she can't ride. Talk about a joke. She still to this day tells people she "barrel races" all the time. I just laugh and give her one of these. |

That's what I was thinking. Who would want to brag about being a barrel racer and not really be a barrel racer? Unless they were running around with a rodeo/barrel racing crowd & trying to impress them. Eventually they would all figure out the scam I would think. LOL |

Had my whole childhood. If someone asked what I did, even really up until as of late, I cringed inside because I felt like I wasn't a barrel racer. Still have a hard time saying that because I am not in the 1D. |

If someone else is bothered by others who "say" they are barrel racers but don't meet their definition of one, then they might want to spend some time thinking about WHY this bothers them so much, then move on to something more positive.

I prefer pale and youthful over tan and raggedy. Or cancer ridden.
Lost my mom to Melanoma so now I'm a sunscreen nazi. And I sit my happy but in the shade as much as possible. |

when you list a horse for sale and someone calls and emails repeatedly wanting pics and videos and stats and you know from the very first contact that they couldn't afford your horse to start with. It's usually some stupid kid that thinks they know everything and wants to tell me how I should be riding my horses I had one of those… after the offer for 4500 sock monkeys in exchange for my beast I shut it down LOL lol.... Of course being a man, I have no idea what a real barrel horse is, so I should just take the best offer and buy a 4 wheeler or something.

Txdad, I finally bought a four wheel dirt ride, it's fun. AND yes I get told everytime I am out on it how to ride it. I welcome the advice due to it being my first one....and I assure you it's a 1-D Can Am, but ride it like a monkey on Whiplash. |

.......or when you are driving down the highway where the speed limit is 55, and you are daydreaming of making a scalding run, and you lean forward and glance down to see you are going 90 mph.......you are a barrel racer. |
