No. And if I were looking at that pedigree in a sales catalog for a racing prospect, I would turn the page.
Ask me about my 2 year filly, Bigtime Mistske, that I buried last year and her being inbred.

Okay, I'm going to be odd man out and side with Whiteboy on this. Overall I'm not a big fan of breeding that close, but some of the best horses out there are results of careful crosses of favorite lines. California Chrome himself is an example. You can't even develop a breed in the first place without doing this. I know a lot of foundation lines people especially in the Northwest like Hancock crosses. Realizing this is the reality of the situation, and I'm totally in love with the Shawne Bug line I've seriously considered crossing my own daughter with Shawne Bug Leo or Takin on Shawne (love his bottom side). I'd say go for it, and I want to see pictures when it turns out beautiful. And if it has a fifth hoof growing out of its forehead. Well, I'd like to see those pictures too.

I think that would be a nice cross. I have a mare bred like that but I didn't look at her papers before I bought her. Just knew she was double bred Dash For Cash but didn't know she had joint ill as a foal so that eliminated any kind of plans for riding. Here's her pedigree. http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/helix+nebula

I would say NO. Id never buy something that looked like that on paper. There are always people out there who will like the same thing you do, and people who don't. So its up to you but .. .. I'd much rather see some rate in there. I've had a signature mare looks like a lunatic brew to me.

I could be wrong but I based my decision on this horse going to the track.   And to be honest most on here wouldn't buy that horse, but that is because they wouldn't be able to afford it.

Whiteboy - 2014-06-24 10:51 AM Do you people not realize that HFD is pretty much the hottest thing in racing right now? To breed him to a 3/4 sister.  I would guarantee that horse would sell in a heartbeat.

I would do the cross.

I personally don't have the cajones to do that close of a breeding. But if the horse itself was a really good individual, I wouldn't even skip a beat at buying it for breeding purposes if I could afford it.  My stallion is linebred to Jet Deck and he's the most consistent producer I've ever seen, in a good way.
