The rolling out on the frozen water bottle will help. There are special stretchers that you can find on ebay, amazon, etc. that help with stretching it. Stretch as much as possible!! Go to a good podiatrist and get casted for a good orthodic to put in your workboots and all other shoes. They will support your foot to your natural curves of your feet. The Dr. Scholls etc are not good for your feet no matter what they claim.

I did the custom orthodics from my dr and they helps a very small amount but when I quit using them and started paying attention to how I sit, stand so toes are downhill, don't go barefoot, and wear shoes with a heel is when I seen the biggest difference.  Since I added the Dr Scholls for pf I have had the least amount of pain.

Hubby had the surgery and the doc. told him to wear shoes with heels and excellant arch support.  He can not go to Wal-Mart and buy shoes he actually has to spend $$ on good shoes.  The surgery did help him but it was h@ll for me during recovery time since he was off work for 4 months and is a baby when it comes to injuries to boot.  He still does his stretching and like someone else said DO NOT walk around barefoot.  The shoes that SG mentioned are excellant but hubby doesn't like them so he buys Merrills.

Hey,thanks everyone!!! The most important thing for me is, i CANNOT wear shoes at work, i have to wear steel toe boots,i have no choice. On the weekends ,if im not a work,i wear good shoes, but 8 to 10 hours a day its boots.   I really appreciate all of the suggestions, i hope I can find some relief, its a pain that feels like it can never be healed(heeled, lol) ive started on some of the stretches that you have added, plus the ones I already do and im about to get my frozen water bottle out as i just got home from work. Thanks so much!!!!!!

I had mine injected, wore orthotics that the doctor gave me and I wore a brace at night on it.  I made sure I did the excercise he gave me to do- standing on my tiptoes for 5 seconds pressing/flexing my calves outward and then drop my heels and curl my toes up for 5 seconds. I did as many as I could stand, working up to being able to do around 15-20 reps. I'd do them twice a day. Mine finally healed up, and it only flares up if I wear shoes without support several days in a row.  My feet actually felt best when I wore my Justin boots! LOL!

I dealt with it for over a year..........ouch!  The Dr.Scholl inserts helped me get over it without surgery or injections.  They have a machine at Walmart that detects pressure on your feet and tells you which insert to buy.  Like another person said, I cannot go barefoot at home doing any housework, or it starts to flare up again.  After I started to heal, the actual Scholl inserts were too much and I then purchased the cheaper inserts at any drugstore.  On off days from work, I wore Merril shoes to town , groceries and all that.  At home I wore a pair of sketchers with the Dr Scholl inserts.....it works , but does take time

I didn't read all of the responses... but i used the frozen water bottle, wall stretches, and i got Dr. Scholls Plantar Fasicits sp? Inserts... i have them in all of my shoes and they work great!  The only shoes i can wear without them now is my Ariats because the have great support when new... now when they get broke in good i will have to put inserts back in.

jake i didnt read all the responses but i did the ice bottle, stretches and inserts.... but the therapy i got the most relief from was medi cupping at my chiropractor.  it seriously took a crippeling situation for me last fall and had be back to loving life and feeling like walking and excercising.
there are different forms of medi cupping.  my therapy included a suction cup slid over the effected area to stimulate blood flow in the area.

I get it from time to time, mainly more now that I'm on my feet 10hrs a day as a Hair stylist. Wear supportive shoes/boots, inserts, and when it gets very painful just stay off your feet for a day or two...of course if you're able too. Massage and ice helps mine and some ibrophen. Get someone to massage your feet :) It's painful I know! I'm sorry feel better!

RED WING  ,never looked at twist X, ill look them up! We have to have 6 inch laces,no closed foot like a cowboy boot. ill go search, im thinking on ordering those inserts! I definatly need a full foot insert, the heel inserts kill my back.

Red Wing are excellent boots.

I don't think the Twisted X have a lace up with steel toes. My older ones have a real thick sole that saved me. I can walk in them all day with my powerstep pinnacle inserts without any problems.

I recieved a nice and encouraging PM, and im trying one of the things that was sent to me because IT HELPS ALOT. Since I cannot take anti inflamatories, it was suggested to soak my feet in an ice water foot bath, IT HURTS CAUSE IT IS SOOOO COLD, but it HELPS SO MUCH!!!!!! just wanted to share this in case anyone is needing some relief as well, THANK YOU SO MUCH for the PM.
