Location: Riding Crackhead. | sorrel horse ranch - 2014-11-02 9:23 AM casualdust07 - 2014-11-02 8:14 AM I'm not 100% sold on those barrels but they were good when horses hit them bad and then ran over them- no cuts. I'm not going to lie I was very disappointed in my runs. Lucy and I ran a 15.1 in the warm up with mistakes so I was really confident I could improve our time for the qualifier. When it came down to it she cheated me bad at the first barrel and there wasn't anything I could do to move her over and save it. She doesn't do it often but she did it tonight. I guess she was just super ratey. Poor Bunny...she ran OK on Friday but apparently my new saddle was doing something with her because she's started shaking her head leaving the barrels again. Thankfully my mom packed my old saddle so I switched in time for the qualifier. She had an absces blow out the coronary band of her heel bulb Saturday morning. She never limped and I had no idea she had one brewing. Needless to say I was proud she went out there and tried as hard as she did. But oh well. Not what I had in mind. Lauren I know your take is right on on what happened with your runs. But I would like to say I have run in the pen numerous times and have watched what seems like thousands of runs there. There is a certain place in that alley (the alley being so wide ) that you need to start from to get a good turn on the first. I am not saying that All horses need that spot but I promise you most do. And if you don't get started from that spot it messes your first barrel up in so many ways. Then the domino effect, bad first leads to a bad second and on. I watched your run on Bunny and you were not in that good place when you started. So as far as I am concerned things were sort of out of your control. I think you are a hero to me. You sucked it up entered and did your best. I am proud of you and your mares. Just keep on keeping on. You are a winner.
I didn't watch it but I love the feedback. Very positive and I agree - you entered up and gave it your all. |

She is a wonderful person! I am so happy for her! She won some good money too in the main race and in the BBR side pot! She's had her palomino gelding since birth and I think it's amazing how well she can train a horse. She stamps everything she trains. I also think its great how well her sorrel gelding is. He overcame a bad bad laceration that was almost career ending..I'm so glad she and him are doing so well!! |

Me too. I remember back.....lol........when you had made a smokin run in that pen if you had between a 15.2 to 15.4. So much for those days. I swear all the runs I saw everybody was giving it everything they had. Congratulations to all who entered. That was one tough barrel race. And yes Congratulations to Grinnbearit. You were awesome! |

She always impresses me. I was just watching with some friends today and I saw Joy come in on the yellow horse and yelled for her and my friends were so impressed with how smooth that run was. She is a really pretty rider. |

| I was curious about the plastic barrels so this morning before the race I went in the arena to look at them. They are heavy, just as heavy as the metal. I hit the 2nd hard on one of mine today, had shin guards on and still have a bruise-barrel stayed up. I saw lots of barrels that were tipped and these barrels would have that slow motion fall just like the metal barrels do, where they just kind of hang there for a moment before deciding to go on over and ruin somebody's run. |

Wow Lauren! I said do it up good, but dang that is impressive! Your check is in the mail sweet pea! ;-)
But on a serious note⦠That is one of the sweetest things anyone has ever said to/about me, and it is so humbling that you would think that. And like I've told you in the past - God has a plan, He knows your heart and things will happen when they are suppose to happen. In the meantime, keep getting up and suiting up, knowing that He has started a work in you that He will see come to pass.
Love ya little sister!

Is there a list of the horses that ran and their registered names? |

That was Natalie Foutch, but I don't know her personally or why she ran in a halter/lead. |
