| As someone who has always been in the "stands" being everyones biggest cheerleader wishing I could get past my fears and just do it...I am finally on my way. I have found the perfect little horse and although she may be just a slow horse for most...she is perfect for me. I am working on my courage to enter our first barrel racing soon........I am 47. Still battling the fear of speed but with each and every ride I'm getting more confidence...
Now is the time....................cannot wait. |

One of my cousins did that and I wouldn't really recommend it. Not only did he serve time, he was also featured on the show "Dumb Crimnals" and then died from a heart attack at age 54. Bad juju.
My my husband made grilled chicken, green beans, and garlic bread last night. He's bringing me Mexican takeout for lunch today...I've been a very naughty girl lately. Heehee |

My new mantra is "She believed she could...
so she did."
I found it on a necklace. Why it resonates with me, I don't know but it sure is helping me overcome my anxieties. |

Location: Gainesville, TX | I've been doing this for a while just by working on my futurity prospect and growing a breeding business. I've thought about doing some kind of breeding consulting later but will have to develop more contacts and do more research to be ready. I've started though. I'll even have a website model soon. :) |

| Herbie - 2014-11-06 8:56 AM The juice absolutely is worth the squeeze. I may not be out winning the world, but i'm trying to work towards it. I've got the nicest group of young horses i've ever had one that is futurity bound in 2015. Keeping fingers crossed he does well, but even if he doesn't, it was worth doing! It's something that i've been excited about since he was a weanling and we're finally there!
I have my husband to thank for helping and encouraging me to do things I never thought i'd do. I love horse racing....I mean LOVE IT! Have always wanted to be able to watch a horse I own come down the track. Because of my husband we have been able to do that. Haven't had anything win big yet, but never know....might just be the next one that wins big!
I have a 3 YO that I like and a yearling that I love......and have another 2 YO on the way that won't be mine but I bet I get to ride him. Yep, that's right, another El Scorcho is coming to live at my house! So get ready to hear more brag posts from the Quarles clan on how much we love the Scorchos.....and Ricky of course!
Bottom line.....yesterday is too late....set goals, write them down, and work toward them every day even if it's nothing more than going out and brushing your horses....or whatever a baby step toward YOUR goal would be! Have realistic expectations daily that build to what your long term goal is and GO FOR IT! What's the harm in falling short? NOTHING....it's the journey that is the blessing. Happy Thursday everyone! And Jen, I love you buddy! We got great things in store for us!!!!!
HECK YEAH!!!! Write the goals down, stick 'em on your mirror, read daily and GO FOR IT!!! This is a great post ya'll!!!

Now THIS is what i'm talking about!!!! Way to go banjomia!!!! That is just the thing.....everyone has a different goal and success isnt measured by comparisons to each other. Success is different for each individual and what you have just described IS SUCCESS!!!!!! As lindseylou said above....write your goals down and read them every day. Be sure and write down short term goals in addition to long term goals and it's ok to alter those short term goals as needed. There have been times in my life when simply getting up and feeding my horses was a daily goal in my darkest days. Sometimes my short term goal is to get to the barn every single day and groom my horse or saddle them and let them stand tied. As little as they seem, these small daily goals work toward my semi long term goals, which work toward my long term goals. They keep me accountable to myself and help me to recognize the progress even it it is minute.
Is it statistically proven that if you simply write down your short and long term goals that you are 100% more likely to reach them. Now if you right them down and read them every day then you are 300% more likely to reach them......how's that for encouraging?!?!?! I'll take that statistic! I think the most important thing is to be sure you stair step your goals and re-evaluate them and change them as needed to be able to recognize the success of what you're doing daily. Each time you go to do someting to work toward your dream, have a purpose for THAT DAY. Go out there with a certain thing you want to improve upon or accomplish. That when each time you finish your work for that day, you know you are one step closer. |

Attitude has much to do with reaching your goals too .... Herbie is right, the more you write your goals down and take baby steps the more likely you are to actually accomplish them!!!! Fostering a community of support and positivity only gives you a stronger base behind you when missteps and upsets happen. |
