| I hope you don't flame but to answer your question. From everything that I have read and understand of the Koren, Muslim faith tells the people that practice to kill the infedels ( which I believe is a non-believer ), so if you don't practice the faith ( being a Muslim ) your dead. I can not think of another religion that says believe or we will kill you! I have a problem with the prayer cause I don't believe that way. I have never saw a Muslim participate in a rodeo. If they did, then let them pray. They don't even understand the Cowboy Way! A couple of weeks ago (asking this ) didn't they have some sort of convention in Garland,Tx. where a non-believer wasn't even allowed inside the church? |

People like to point at the Muslim faith and say they're violent......but yet in the Old Testement God ordered every living breathing thing including children killed. The Old Testement states a witch shouldn't be allowed to live and Christians burned people alive for suspecting they were a witch. Look at the crusades as well. Today Christians kill blacks still for their skin color or gays for their preference. Many churches don't allow women to speak in church and the wives still walk three steps behind, not to mention the child marriages and molestation that goes on in certain Christian denominations.
Are terrorists Muslim? Yes. But I don't think it's the religion that is the problem because Christians have been just as violent and our Bible is just as violent in the Old Testement.
I think the problem is the CULTURE of the middle east. Muslim or not, they stone their own daughters for certain things and women are no better than livestock. That thinking again is in non-muslim households.
We hate Muslims because they hate Christians and yet we Christians do the exact same thing by hating them. Where does it stop?
Yes, rodeo is an American Christian tradition. Times are changing and more than traditional Christians are attending. So I don't have a problem with non-denominational prayer regardless of who gives it-- God listens to my heart and what I am praying at that moment.
Besides, a lot of our Holidays that we enjoy originated from the exact same thing that everyone is fussing about. It was Christians trying to find a way to common ground and not offend because when you offend you definitely don't win any souls over.
I just think there's more than one side. |

| I have been to 4 different denominations of Christian faith churches. I'm proud to say I have never experienced any of the things your having reference to. They all believed in God! No one ever killed blacks or hurt gays in any way or children! That is Satan at work! I'm sorry but I would like to know the denomination that you are talking about. This the way I see it: We are all going to the same heaven or hell! |

To say all Baptists are like Westboro Baptist is like saying all Muslims are all terrorists.

As far as that goes, I don't believe any of the IRA members were Muslim.. |

Location: La Vernia, TX | I've read the (english translations of) the Bible (NIV and KJV) and Quran. Allah *****IS***** the exact same GOD as Yahweh. He is Abraham's God. In Islam, Abraham is a prophet, the father of both the Arabs and the Jews, through his sons. Some of the stories are nearly identical to Old Testament tales. There are more similarities between Islam and Christianity than most self-proclaimed Christians are willing to accept. Keep religion (all of them) out of government and we're all safer. |

| JINDAL QUOTE ON MUSLIM COLONIZATION OF THE USA...>>
“[O]ne of the great about America is it doesn’t matter if you’ve been here five minutes or a hundred years, we have folks that come here, want to be Americans,” Jindal said. “They join our military, they start companies, they work to create a better community. And that’s wonderful. What’s not acceptable is people that want to come and conquer us. That’s not immigration, by the way, that’s colonization. If someone wants to come here and change our fundamental culture and our values. If they want to come here and they want to set up their own culture and values that’s not immigration, that’s really invasion — if you’re honest about it. Of course, the politically correct crowd when you say things like they’ll call you racist — but this is a particular threat we face. And if we’re not serious about this we’re going to see more lone wolf actors. We’re going to see more folks come into our country just like you’ve seen in other countries — the horrific shootings in Paris.” |

I wonder what the native Americans would have to say. Technically they're the original American. |

The KKK in its heyday was primarily Baptist. There are still many, many closet KKK members that are Baptist. A lot of extremist groups in the U.S. consider themselves of a Christian faith.
Komet good point - I think the IRA is a primarily Catholic.....of course according to many of the small churches here the Catholics aren't Christian-- that is a whole other discussion.
You have to look much further than a religion label. |

BWAHAHA!! The KKK?
The number of people the KKK has killed in the last 20 years is a slow day for muslims.
Yeah, yeah I know, Timothy McVeigh... |

Again, being Muslim is not the issue.
The culture in that part of the world is the problem.
Not all people in the middle east are Muslim. |

 Own It and Move On
Location: The edge of no where | Here is the first post I saw about it from someone that was there. 1-817-877-2400. This is the number to the Fort Worth Livestock Show and Rodeo. Please call and inform them of how upset we all are that they decided on the most American Tradition we have and decided to open it with a MUSLIM PRAYER this past Sunday on the Lord's Day for Christians. Sorry but this is a huge disgrace to rodeo and slap in the face to us all. We can no longer sit back and do nothing, please voice your concerns and let them know we don't approve of this. I know I will no longer ever again support this livestock show or rodeo if they continue this type of disrespect. The guy to speak to and who decided to do this was Brad Barnes, Brad Barnes is the President and General Manager of the Fort Worth Livestock Show and Rodeo, I let him know just how much he disrespected the most Patriotic individuals and fan base of any sport, I let him know as a Wounded Warrior myself and Combat Veteran just how much he disrespected all U.S. Veterans and Soldiers, and gave him a good little extra piece of my mind.1-817-877-2400
This was posted on the Fort Worth Stock Show page. I'm sorry, but I'm very offended by it. I did call in and speak to Brad Barnes about it. They contradict themselves a few times below....
We would like to take this opportunity to separate fact from fiction: There was never a Muslim prayer – or a prayer of any specific religion at the Stock Show this year. Because the Stock Show is an annual community event that attracts many visitors from around the world, country and state each year, last spring, we established a faith-based committee consisting of a wide range of local clergy. We based our decision on and selected our participants from the Mayor’s Faith Cabinet Directory. We invited each participant to provide a one-minute prayer to include the safety of the contestants, animals and participants, the military men and women and world peace. Committee members include: a Cowboy Church pastor, a Catholic priest, TCU Brite Divinity School students, a member of the Clergy and Police Alliance, Christ Chapel Bible Church clergy, a Baptist minister, a Rabbi and an Imam. Last Sunday evening the Imam provided a very appropriate blessing as outlined above. In addition to the daily pre-rodeo prayers, we hold Cowboy Church each Sunday as we have for decades.
