Maybe if I really start riding a lot, but for what I'm doing now, I can't see it. I want a really good, 1/2 that price pad. $350?? Pretty sure the max I've paid is $245 for my biggest one! It's 3/4" thick and is personalized. Deanna is Rockyroad on here! I can give you her e-mail if you'd like! For the CSI pad. On the website it said $350. I can't cough up the money for the new 5 Star either....not yet, at least. If I really start riding like I think I will, I will upgrade. I'm just at my first nice saddle pad purchase right now :) You should be able to get a 5 star in your price range with Deanna (rockyroad on BHW). I just got a custom ordered pad 1" thick 32x32 (he's a team roper:)) for my brother for less. And you for sure can find a used pad for under $200.
Are you on facebook? Deanna has started a used 5star page that's where I've found a couple of the ones I use. Can I get a link to this group?!??
No! It's my group! Go find ye own! |

Location: In my own world | I have a 5 star and a Professional Choice SMX air ride. I like them both. And I like the 5 star on one horse but not the other and same with the SmX. I didn't like how the 5 star fit her. The SMX is about $150 if you go plain. You can catch them
On sale for $100. My saddles are a Crown C and a Double J Pro |

Location: North Dakota | When I got into the "fancy pad" world I started with a classic equine memory foam, I still have it and use it when needed. I then went down a wandering path, that made it through the 5 stars, CE zone and finally found my way to the CSI (thanks to hubby) Honestly, if you are anything like me (haha) I do not own saddles that fit every horse perfectly, I know there is flaws in the fit and the CE memory foam and the CSI pad are the best of the 4 types I've tried with CSI being the best. I found a used one that came with 2 liners and really, I would bet they are 6-8 years old but they are still very nice and have a ton of life left in them.
edited to add that coolhorse.com used to be the best place to find pads if you're looking for a deal....not sure if they still are.

Because I like to have OPTIONS!!!! even if I always grab the same pad time after time I like to know that there are options waiting on me should I want to change my mind the next time I saddle up! |

| I have a 5 star and a wade and like both of them. I've had saddlerights and CSI pads but I didn't like them as much. I would say the five star is my absolute favorite. |

30 X 30 1/2"
I'm a happy little camper! Thanks everyone. I'll give this one a try. If it doesn't work out, I'll sell it to my sister and buy a different one.....turns out, she knows less about saddle pads than I do lol. |
