4Horse - 2015-12-13 7:27 AM Had she done it as a way to be fun and give the crowd have a good laugh, absolutely but her analogy as written is a bit off putting (for someone that is less attractive and wakes up with Mohawk hair every morning, actually looks like that all day, I'm glad to wear a helmet to cover it up!).
Read the letter in the link
Fallon could have explained that it was to honor someone specifically then and not the way she did. She already honors everyone that wears a helmet by wearing one herself and setting the example.

F did. She posted the 4 page letter in the link. That's just not in the comment picture here. That comment refers back to the letter, but that isn't too clear by just looking at the comment picture on here.

Here is what I could find of the letter....not sure if it is the entire thing, but it shows 3 hand written pages. You don't need a Facebook account to open and view these pages.

Nevertooold - 2015-12-12 12:30 PM I prefer Callie DuPerier's statement. She has the money to wear whatever she wants and instead protrays the look of a real cowgirl. She wears a hat she has had for years, has worn the same shirt for more then one perf, wears her hair in a braid and has no make up on. She is pure class in and out of the arena and it sure doesn't bother her when she doesn't win. She is her friends biggest cheerleader. She is what I would want my kids to admire.
News flash: her professional peers just voted for her award as "Best Dressed" at the NFR for the 3rd consecutive year. Evidently they don't share your sentiments, Kathie.

Newsflash Scott...Best dressed is voted every night by the fans, not by her peers..

Thank You for Voting for Your
Best Dressed 2015 WNFR Qualifier

Congratulations to the 2015 Winners!
Jerry Ann Taylor Awards will be given to 3 lucky barrel racers at the 2015 WNFR!

• $5,000 to the first place winner
• $1,000 to the second place winner
• $500 to the third place winner

Jerry Ann Taylor was a daring trick rider who brought a style, glamour and spirit to the rodeo arena.
Following her passing in February, 2012, a fund was started, by her husband Dutch Taylor, her mother
Jo Matthews and other donors, to reward cowgirls who carry the same sense of style. The WPRA is
pleased the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame has collaborated with the us to offer this
prestigious award at the 2015 Wrangler NFR as well as the 2015 Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo Finals.
Cash awards will be given to the Best Dressed Barrel Racer at both rodeos.

After each night's WNFR performance, come out to the WPRA web site and cast your vote for the barrel
racer who is following in Jerry Ann's steps with their sense of style!

While voted best dressed for 3 years, none of them choose to dress in that fashion. Im happy she is confident and able to pull off her choice of fashion, it brings attention to barrel racing and barrel racers.

Fallon wore the mohawk to honor a woman who had several accidents and was told to quit riding. She had to ride with a helmet and people made fun of her .....
Fallon has always dressed with a lot of color ... even when she was running Flo ... I specifically remember some silver pants and shirt with long fringe she wore one year at Houston. In an interview last year she remarked on the outfit .. she went to the carnival at Houston with Joe Beaver's son wearing that outfit and the fringes got caught. She laughed about it. She herself recognizes some of the outfits are "out there" but she doesn't care - she is who she is.

The best dressed award is voted by popularity ... she's got a huge fan base of younger girls - the generation that is comfortable with social media and all things related. She would be hard to beat.

Callie wears the same hat, hairstyle and clothes because she is superstitious and that's ok. My guess is that if Callie continues to wear her same hat, hairstyle and clothes ... someone will be on here remarking how she needs to update.

All of FT's craziness is part of her marketing plan for a business outside the arena. She is capitalizing on her fame. I don't know her personally and have heard about the ugly business deals ... but I do enjoy her snap chats and the behind the scenes access. I personally would not wear anything she has ... maybe the hats and my 13 year old son thinks she dresses too young but he even sees she's marketing to a specific audience.

I have said it before and gotten 'flamed' for it - but I prefer the women who use color and flash and have fun compared to the walking billboards. And yes I get that they get paid for the patches - but to me that looks cheap and nothing 'western ' , 'working' or 'traditional' about it and I wish the WPRA had never approved it. Just reminds me of a nascar. really surprised we haven't seen bumperstickers on the horses 'bumpers''. I hope next year we see some other brave non-comformist like her running down the alleyway!

I do agree about the patches. Fallon has the ability to get hers camouflaged in the craziness of the patterns on her shirts.

I doubt we will see Callie again. She's getting married in May and wants to start a family right away as she wants to have 5 kids.

Β

I stand corrected. This is even more complimentary. Without the fans there would be no NFR. Further evidence she's been good for the sport. Her fashion sense isn't my cup of tea, but I still give her credit. She may not look "professional", as you put it, but there you have it.

Just curious if Callie is going to sell Dillon? I am also curious if Sherry will buy Arson. Time to think 2016! Merry Christmas!

I'm so glad Sheri finally won a round even if it was the last round 10.   And such a great time 13.55.  WTG Sheri and Arson

For some of us who know how hard it was for the Barrel racers to get equal money.  And have a shot at equal sponsership.... those "walking billboards" are a Good thing.  Of course it wasn't that long ago that WPRA did not allow denim in the arena either.

I think there ought to be strict restrictions on women's attire at the NFR.
There ought to be a "Code" of some sort that restricts the wearing of certain attire. Women should look "professional".........right?

I am curious as to who you thought didn't look professional?

I would much rather see Fallon's crazy outfits then some low cut shirt with tata's hanging out!! There were a couple ladies, I won't name names, that used to wear the super low v neck shirts at the NFR!! That was something I did not appreciate.
