Location: In the wrong place at the wrong time | I wouldn't be texting anyone at this point. The horse would be back in my pasture and I would be done with those buyers. You are being way nicer than I would be after having my horse for 5 weeks. There is no excuse for this.
Good luck and go hook up your trailer. |

Location: N Texas | Unless your friend is a broker, or is being compensated in some way, take her OUT of this mess. You need to be dealing directly with the buyers. You're so afraid of offending someone and coming across as pushy, that you don't even realize how YOU are the one being mistreated and taken advantage of.
Don't apologize for "being a pain", you need to be VERY clear what your expectations are (I need payment in full by x date, or I will be coming to pick up the horse). You've said how it's more important that the horse have a good home than how much money you make, so they're probably assuming that as long as they're properly caring for the horse, you're not worried about the money.
On a side note, if you do go pick up your horse, DO NOT let them make you feel like you have to reimburse them for feed, or any other expenses they incurred while they had your horse. They got free use out of someone else's horse, so their expenses are a wash. |

I chose to text so I have a trail of the conversation so nothing was he said/she said. :) |

Well she's not being a very good friend, because she's allowing someone to take advantage of you. Outright ask her for their info. Tell her she's not getting the job done, so you have to. |

The buyers could be misunderstood on the terms if they are injecting without asking you?
If I was in your situation, I would say $XXXX by X/XX/XX, if they don't produce the funds, pick up the horse that day. Just a heads up, don't be surprised if they expect you to reimburse them for vet costs and feed/boarding. Not saying you should pay, but work out a solution.
Good luck, and I bet this doesn't happen to you again! |

Whaaaat? Who does that to a horse they have not paid for? Why would your friend let them do that? I would have to know they rest of that story. |

Injected for what? So they are paying for the injections and buying a blanket but wont pay you and your friend is the broker in this mess? And you dont know who the buyers are? |

Are you kidding......Your "friend" has put herself in the position of being the "broker"........SHE is now responsible for collecting the money OR the horse for you. At this point in time, I would go get the horse! |

I do now know. She said the vet was out to inject another horse and she just had him done becouse he needed it done. They knew all about what his maintenace was long before she said she had someone interested in him becouse I use her vet also and usually drop my horse off at her facility to be vetted on so I do not have to take time off work.
She informed me yesterday after she had already done it. But when I said I needed things in writing I never heard back from her. |

They don't own the horse. The vet should have never injected. I would be calling the vet and getting his version, then politely explain it is not their horse and you didn't consent to the injections.
And I wouldn't be texting anymore, as I have a feeling that horse is going to disappear when you go to get him |

He retired from barrel racing because of an arthritic knee. So he was being sold as a trail horse. Said she had this kid who he would be perfect for, so I dropped him off. He came up sore so she is probably just maintaining him like he needs...but still... |
