Bibliafarm - 2016-03-22 11:08 PM  You do realize that our country is broke and in debt and these illegals coming over are costing us.. and majority of others are on getting free healthcare (which isnt free to tax payers ). helping others is all good and dandy but to let the veterans go without so these illegals can have it wrong. so go over there and help them with their own government funding..
Well if the Congressmen would stop being paid for sitting on their ***** then we would be a hell of a lot closer to being out of debt. Everyone mentions the vets, but no one does a **** thing to help them. I agree with helping our own, which if the government wasn't so corrupted could have already been done by now. I never said I was good at Government funding, Biology Major and Chem Minor here haha.

yes like build a wall.. stop welfare abuse and stop supporting the ones walking across the borders.

I think owing money to china and all the wars added to the debt mainly and Obama was a major contributing factor.

Kaitlyn19 - 2016-03-22 9:10 PM I would rather have my money feed the hungry than some wall. Trump speaks, but all that comes out is a bunch of yelling that in the end means nothing. I do think that better background checks for all people coming into the country is agreeable because of all that is going on, but we should all remember the heinous crimes done in the name of Christianity and that not all muslims are "evil" and some really are trying to escape bombings.
seroiusly? that isnt just whats coming over the border..  these are ILLEGALS .. the wall isnt to keep out the hungry..we can check all we want but those people  are coming.. illegally..

I didn't mean a wall to keep the hungry out. I meant I would rather support a local food bank than give my money towards building a wall haha easy misunderstanding. Sure a wall will keep out the small time crime, which is great. However, the big crime lords have extensive tunnels and would require much more to keep out.

I dont consider the Hoards of illegals coming over raping and stealing and bringing drugs in "small time"  crime I will agree to disagree on your thought process..

Well drugs is the big time crime I was talking about if you think a wall can stop drug lords that have millions of dollars and resources you are surely mistaken. Generalizing raping and stealing to just illegals ehh.... I guess I feel for the percent of illegal Meixcans (other poor countries) that face death to come to American who can't afford the $600 legalization who make $5 a day and just want to make a living. I understand it's not right legally and that there are criminals in the bunch. There is no clear-cut way to handle the situation to me because people are suffering.

Where do you live? I live in South Texas and illegals are a huge problem down here. Just 30 miles from where I live they discovered a cartel execution. We have "rape Trees" where the scum leave the women's panties in the tree after raping them and leaving them to die of thirst. Coyotes regularly steal trucks to haul illegals in and have no compunction about wrecking the vehicle and killing these people they are bringing over when the border patrol try to pull them over. Happens on a daily basis. So far I have described the crimes of human trafficking, rape, murder and theft. That dang sure is NOT small time crime. Not to mention ranchers being shot at on their own property. A wall won't stop it, but it would slow it down. It is not just Mexicans coming over. Border patrol friends have told us there are a lot of Syrians and Russian speaking people coming over.
Used to be, the ranchers left water and food out for the illegals, but now they come up to the houses to steal and have become really aggressive. They attack the oil field workers, stripping them of their clothes and stealing their phones and vehicles. So please explain to me why we don't need a wall again. This is my little piece of the world that I love and it hurts to watch it change into something I don't recognize.

US citizens and even veterans are suffering also, I think we have to help our own first.  There are so very many people suffering around the world, every second of every day, we can't save them all and destroying this country to try and save the world won't work, it just won't. We have to have some common sense to prosper, then we can help others.
Sure we can take that approach, but we are never going to fully do help our veterans or our own. The percent of homeless people compared to the number of people in the United States is relatively small and yet we can't fix that problem. I am aiming just to help as many people as I can in life.
how many live with you? are you going to be responsible for them? Or are you going to expect someone else to foster your charity
As soon as I complete my degree and start earning something. I'm applying to medical school so I can be able to afford to help people in whatever form it may be. Hopefully, I can take in all these vets everyone talks about.

Just for starters, your share of the national debt is around $138,000, for now anyways.  How long do you think you will have to work to pay that off along with your student loans?  Don't get me wrong, I appreciate your ambition, but we have to fix this country first before we can support the rest of the world.

I never said any of that was small a cartel is a hell of a big thing. A wall sure maybe it will stop a couple of people until they pay the big drug lords to use the tunnels they have built. When I said small time I meant the lowest bottom feeders there are that don't have the resources to keep coming. All I was saying it's not going to fix the problem when the drug lords already have the resources and money to keep coming. There has to be a permanent solution besides a wall that won't even stop most of them.

How is anyone paying the national debt? I am generally interested. Personally, I do panic about the national debt and why it hasn't seen to have gone down and why it seems like usually no one cares. I like being as debt-free possible, but I guess that's more small scale day to day then my personal 138,000. Honestly, I am the type of person who would be like where do I deposit this, so I can get this off my conscience haha not realistic I know.

Reality is it's a short term solution to a long-term problem. And that is the best Trump's got. There needs to be someone in office who doesn't need some guy to hold his hand during a televised speech. There is not much hope for a candidate who can critically think and actually solve this problem.

If a wall won't work then why are we giving millions to King Abdullah of Jordan to build a wall to keep the Syrians out?  Surely ISIS has as much $$$$ at thier disposal as the Mexican cartels.  Why does Mexico have a wall at thier southern border?

Is your argument that nothing is going to be 100% perfect so screw it, lets have a free for all?

No my plan is for an actual genius to come up with a plan. I would rather not have my national debt go up. If we have so much national debt how are we going to afford a wall! The point is they already have tunnels into the US so how is a wall going to stop a tunnel? Let's just wall in the whole US that will fix the whole problem 1. Trump will not have any better ideas than a wall 2. He will start blowing up countries for the hell of it and that's not something I support. I'll have to find more information on these walls tomorrow.

There is a very high rate of poverty where I live, feeding the hungry is a very noble act but once you start you keep it up for generations, it becomes a way of life. You can't believe all of the kids in our school, even older kids that think that EVERYONE gets an EBT card to go to the grocery store. It is very interesting to ask little kids where I live what they want to be when they grow up, not many have an answer. They say "nope, I don't want a job, I will get EBT instead"!!!!!!

GLP - 2016-03-23 12:53 AM Short term solution works for me. It might buy us time to find a better solution. Nothing works 100% and that wall would work better than the 0% we have now. Once again, what state do you live in?
They have trillions of dollars to work with...they tunnel under entire cities....they can just move all the crime to Florida. PA.

Sister if they have so many tunnels then why the *#%# are they ruining so much country? They have trails all over the southwest. They leave trash all over, they gave human mule trains carrying over their drugs. If they had all these elaborate tunnels, why for the love of Pete are so many dying in our deserts? The Coyotes wouldn't have to swim people over or trek for days in the desert carrying gallons of water. There are some tunnels, no doubt, but we also hunt them down and seal them off. Our Border Patrol is not so stupid they can't find the tunnels. You have no idea what we are dealing with AND you have NO idea what you are talking about. If I sound emotional, I am this MY part of the world and it is coming unraveled. We CANNOT afford to keep supporting and not deporting these people. I feel bad for them and I see them in the brush line headed north. Some are really hard workers, most are not. Many come across to have babies so we won't throw them back. I can't remember the last time I heard an English speaking mother be interviewed on Jan. 1 because she had the first baby born of the year here.
A wall WILL help. We can and do find your precious tunnels down here so that is just not gonna cut it as an argument against the wall. We are already in a huge hole money wise. In the long run it will be cheaper to build that wall and enforce our laws than it is to pay for so many to be on welfare and in our prison systems.
Where are you from?

Doesn't Israel have a pretty darn effective wall that holds back a lot of (but of course not all) enemies of their country?

I stated PA. Here is what I do know friends went on spring break got in and out of Mexico without their passport that doesn't sound like a very good system right now even checking. These people will just move their hub of operations if no one can see that having lots of money at their disposal will stop them. The wall of Jordan can't even be compared yet as it hasn't been built, so who is to say it will keep the Syrians out. Also, I haven't found anything about a wall between Mexico and Guatemala. Unfortunately, the only person aiming to get a wall that could possibly be elected is Trump. I am not sure if he is up against Hillary if he will be elected because unfortunately most dems will vote for Hillary over Trump. I would do a write-in before voting for either. If you want to build a wall take it off my national debt to yours, I would rather have it billed towards funding people who will actually have a permanent solution. I am not saying it's not a bad first idea, but really that is the best we got. You have a right to be frustrated and vote for who you want to get in, but so do I. I hear what you are saying, but I want an end game, I want more people involved playing an active role. A wall is distracting people....many people believe it will solve all problems. That to me is a major flaw. How many people when all they see is reduced numbers will not be enraged that there isn't a permanent solution?

I found a couple of articles referencing a truce as being the main factor, but yes it did slow some down.

They were able to move around so easily because Obummer made the Border Patrol step down. It had been all over the news down here. The Border Patrol is furious. He has effectively stopped ANY activity down here. Wow, you live all the way up in PA, no wonder you have no idea what is really going on down here. Oh, wait you have first hand knowledge you got from articles you have read and SPRING BREAKERS!
