Three 4 Luck - 2016-08-14 10:40 AM

Nita - 2016-08-14 10:29 AM Tickfaw checking in. Thanking God I didn't get flooded. So many have. It's absolutely heartbreaking. I wish I could do more. And through all of this, I have had to be at work. My two year old baby son had to be evacuated in the middle of the night in an air boat, along with his aunt and uncle. So blessed that everyone is alright. And I'm so thankful to have such good caretakers for my son. It's really eating me up inside that I can't be with my child right now.

Bless your heart, I would be frantic and flipping out in your shoes.   We were flooded in for 5 days last March, but we were together and safe.  Praying for you and everyone else down there.

Thank you, Three4Luck. We can use all the prayers we can get. I'm separated from my son by a bunch of flood water, but I know he is safe and I have contact with them. Just can't get to him right now. It is terribly agonizing. So many people are worse off than us right now. People were stuck in their cars with babies, etc. for twenty four hours. There was just no way to move them.

Are your horses fine? We're about to head to Independence to pick up 4. We have a stock trailer and could squeeze a couple more.
We have a dry pasture with grass north of Amite.
I'm going to PM my number to you.

I understand that flooding is getting worse. Water up to the roof on many houses. One friend on Facebook had pictures of the granddaughter's new house with 2 feet of water in it. Most people do not have flood insurance. Very bad situation.

In the Fort Polk area, I don't think we had much flooding...just rain.

Barnmom, glad you are ok...I was thinking about you this weekend.

Im a couple hours North of all the flooding. We have gotten a lot of rain but no dangerous conditions like those of South Louisiana. Praying for all!! Also I saw that the arena in Gonzales has opened up to provide stalls and RV hook ups for those in need.

Prayers for everyone!! I have Familiy in Bossier/Shreveport area. Her house was the ONLY house on her street that didn't flood back in March. They purchased flood insurance as soon as they could. They are safe and dry for now.

Please keep the updates coming. Glad to see our community and BBs helping each other out. Gives me hope.

Yes they are housing for free but I've heard they're nearing capacity. I think there are close to 400 stalls, 2 arenas and back pens.
90% of the horses there are rescues with no feed, no hay, not even water buckets.
One of the local equine vets went through and scanned each animal for microchips, and taped numbers to them for later help identifying them.

Going to try to attach a photo...
The girl in this photo is a local barrel racer, probably 15-16 years old.
Where they live does not flood. That's why people are so caught off guard.

No words for how terrible this is.  I can't believe another community is going through this so soon after Houstons terrible flooding.  Racers for everyone's  safety including the first responders.

Wow... How sad. I would be beside myself.... I can't imagine trying to save your horses and literally having no where to go... Many more prayers sent...

They need the help. Animals are standing in water. The feed stores are flooded out. I'm 2 hours away and it's raining again. My yard and pasture has areas flooded, but not nearly what they are dealing with.
