| countrygirl2006 - 2016-11-09 10:18 AM I have read several articles this morning, and it seems most of them were written by Democrats. But even in one of those articles, this statement really rang true to me. "What you saw today was not a mandate for every little utterance he made like building a wall or having a deportation force. I believe it was an expression of a desire for change."
Exactly, one candidate was a flawed insider, the other a flawed outside, we chose the outsider. |

I hope I am wrong and he is successful and does right by this country that is already great despite his saying it is not. Then why has the Dems platform been one of change???
I have no idea what you are talking about nor how whatever it is fits into what I said. |

Now I hope our elected representatives will uphold their part and reset us back onto the right course.
It actually was none of that. Trump didn't get as many votes as Romney did. This was an election against, nor for.
But Trump is my prsident now and I hope he is successful. I will not sit around rooting against Trump as people did against Obama. I hope my taxes are less. I hope he does something about welfare. I hope he can unite what he has worked to divide. I hope he comes to realize that America is a great country.
I hope he doesn't continue the racial and social divide that he played to during the election.
I had a friend tell me yesterday that he was voting for Trump even though he hated everything about Trump. His reasoning, he felt there was no hope for change with Hillary. He doesn't think Trump will change anything either but there is a glimmer of hope that he will. I actually understand that reasoning. |

To CBS: what happened was...this white educated female Floridian made a decision based upon the reality of what this country needs in order to change for the better - not some feminist propaganda follower with the "need" to see a woman president. And it's apparent I wasn't the only one lol!
So relieved of the results...fingers crossed we really will see the change this country so desperately needs. |

Good for you.
I have continued to be amazed at the number of women that voted for her based solely on her genitalia |

One comment that stuck out to me was someone said they really overlooked the rural voters. Glad to see the rural voters made their voice heard!

Location: Eastern OH but my heart is in WV | The great thing I took from this election was how rural Americans fought hard! We won this election for Trump. As you watched things unfold and the media would break a state down by counties, it was over & over rural areas fighting back! I live in Ohio, surrounded by farm land counties and good simple country people... he won BIG in these counties. Not even a close race in my county of Harrison. This happened all across America. The average, country loving, hard working, God fearing people of this country want our America back and are willing to work & fight for it!!!!
I also want to add, the one thing I personally like about Trump, I feel he surrounds himself with good people. He does not know everything, he is not perfect, he is not polished but I feel he knows how to choose the right people to advise him.

Loved it when Ryan gave his speech. This is the most enthusiasm I have seen out of this man and his words that they will be taking care of our farmers and ranchers were music to my ears. I want to eat food grown by American Farmers and Beef raised by American Ranchers. Let the 3rd world countries feed other 3rd world countries. |

From where I sit, Obama is the one who divided our country by bringing out old grudges and hatred and then, with media help, fanning the flames every chance he got. I don't think Trump's message was meant to be polarizing, but it was represented that way and brought out some of the crazies, which seemingly lended credence that the message was bigoted and divisive. After the last year or so, I am more convinced than ever that people hear what they want to hear no matter what was said. |

Location: I can see the end of the world from here! | We were and continue to be against the social engineering that Obama and Hillary represent. Against the division, the kind of 'fundamental change' that Obama originally campaigned for...it's nearly ruined us. So...yes, we voted 'against' that and 'for' a successful man who will hopefully inspire us to be the greatest, once again. We have 2 years to get it together! To prove that Americans can be united in the desire to protect our freedoms and liberty...FOR each other...not against, such as the end result of socialism. |

Location: Bastrop, Texas | To my way of thinking, the best way to prolong bigotry and prejudice is to promote someone, vote for someone, or idolize someone because of their sex organs, skin color, religious preference, sexual orientation, or ethnicity. Those who do this are actually only promoting deep divisions, whether it is their intention or not.
Sooner or later I hope people realize this. This isn't some eye-opening or new observation. Martin Luther-King famously talked about this over 50 years ago when he said he had a dream that one day people will be judged by the content of their character, rather than the color of their skin.
The Democrat party nonetheless continues to bank on being the party that promotes people on these meaningless criteria. It's all a worthless ruse.
We elected Barack Obama in 2008 for what reason? Purely based on racism. He had zero accomplishments up to the time of his election. His resume was as unimpressive as my resume' as a 1D barrel racer.
Joe Biden himself famously exclaimed that Obama was a super star because he didn't talk ghetto talk and was "clean cut". Indeed, we aren't the only gullible people on the planet. The guy won a Nobel Prize for what? Search me. Indeed, the fact that Trump called into question Obama's birth country was allowed to be labelled as "racist" by the Progressives and the MSM.
Since the Progressives were successful in using tools of bigotry in getting Obama elected, they decided to use that same approach in getting someone elected because she has a vagina. That is blatant grotesque sexism.....the opposite of what they claim to espouse.
No doubt about it, they will continue to use bigotry and guilt tactics. I'm sure they have a gay or TG person lined up. They will soon have a Hindu, Muslim, or Buddist lined up, I'm sure.
Thank God, common sense prevailed.

Common Sense and then some
Location: So. California | I watched Fox and CNN news last night and their reactions as Trump was leading... It blew away all the pollers, pundits, so called experts and even the media no matter what channel you were watching. I truly believe the vote was against the establishment on both sides of the aisle.
Trump pulled off the unexpected, he ran the race his way, without GOP support, against all odds and he won! Here is my take, he has for years, decades, contributed to compaigns on both sides. He knows how the political system works on the backside. He has been racking up 'favors' for years, and those that wouldn't play ball, he squashed. Trump will be able to get things done. What Trump chooses to tackle first will be interesting and telling and how his presidency will go. 2017 is going to be an interesting year!! |
