I guess I do not see what the big deal is. I also do not see it as disrespecting the flag or anthem or soliders. They have made it clear what they are protesting and I think it is well within reason. They have a right to free speech, they did not incite violence of any kind. So what if they are getting paid, they still have a right to free expression. Seems to me the real issue is that people only grasp the concept of freedom when it suits them.
Frankly I think you should reread the First Amendment. Congress shall make no law. Private Companies can impose limits on speech and actions to any one employed under contract.
Yes, private companies CAN, but in this case they have not. It is the President who is trying to bully these men for exercising their rights of free speech. And the only thing that has done is draw more attention and support. Do you really think these teams will fire their star players or in some cases all or most of their players because a bunch of hypocritical phoney patriots are offended?
I think that since we are taught from very early to STAND at attention with our hand over heart for the flag, how could you not see it as disrespect when they do the exact opposite? I don't feel like a hypocritical phoney patriot; I just have respect for my country, my flag, and the individuals who have died for them. I realize free speech, etc. Just think as Americans they could find a different time to do it.
Oh, you mean a time less noticeable and inconvenient? That's not how protests work. The entire point is to get your attention. And to speak of soliders dying for a flag is a bit disingenuous because right now 20 veterans die each day of suicide. Yes, they kill themselves after our leaders throw them away like trash. They are not dying for a piece of clothe. They are dying because we are failing them. So the next time you want your show real respect for our military try voting accordingly.

I hope they will follow suit with their brothers to the South... the Houston Texans. They all stood yesterday. I would hate to have to follow this up tomorrow and tell you that my ride-or-die team will no longer be watched at my house anymore if they decide to act stupid!!! If they kneel my whole family will be done and we are all life long fans. Y'all saw what they did, right?????? Even tho it wasn't during the anthem I didn't I am on grandma duty with my grandbaby. What did they do? They all knelt in a line before the anthem and then locked arms in "unity" during the anthem. Said they didn't want to take away from the anthem but wanted to show solidarity about unequal treatment. . . . Oh me The jury is still out as to what I really thought happened with the Cowboys last night. Why, why, why have we had professional sports for years and years and this is just now becoming an issue? I believe it is all because of people are against the President and are doing everything they can think of to continue to make him look bad. I back President Trump 100%, but sometimes his "tweets" (like the media), keeps everything stirred up. If he would ignore things like this, it wouldn't get near the media coverage that it gets, which makes it worse! I guarantee if you didn't continually feed the beast, it would eventually die off. ^^^ THIS ........ Let me preface this by saying that I do support the right to protest but I, also, agree with Trump, and support the stance that a person, who is an American and proud, SHOULD support the flag and National Anthem. That being said, previously, only a few took a knee and last week ONLY SIX players took a knee. However, once again, Trump has managed to STIR UP tensions with his idiotic foul mouthed rant against the sports teams ....when he SHOULD be using his time and energy taking care of HIS BUSINESS AS PRESIDENT......you know....health care, taxes, budgets, North Korea, etc. etc. etc ........ In the overall scheme of our country's demise, the sports figures "taking a knee" is miniscule compared to the REAL problems that he SHOULD be working on EVERY DAY! Curious, why do you feel he is not addressing those things also---seems like he is taking N. Korea pretty serious.
Yes I definitely find calling Kim Jong-un "rocket Man" in his twitter rants to be a very professional, adult, serious handling of the N. Korea situation.

| I have never given two S**** about football but now it will never be watched at my house. I have zero respect for these protests. Mainly because I am not sure what they are protesting. Is it racism? Trump? Police? I think some of them are unsure themselves.
I have no tolerance for those who want to bring attention without solution. Do you think my kneeling during the national anthem that those who are racist will suddenly becomes less racist? Do you think Trump will resign? Whats the overall goal?
Why not get more involved and spend you time and resources more effectively? Do they just like the attention because they're a position of power? So they take the knee and then leave the work up to everyone else?

Perhaps they should try drawing attention to all of the gang violence and murders going on in the inner cities? maybe actually go and help in those communities?
And respect the flag of this country...choose another platform/time for protest.
^^^This, exactly!
The national anthem has nothing to do with their stated causes.
I don't think anybody is saying not to protest, just put that garbage aside for a few minutes and show some respect when the national anthem is played.
Also, I don't believe Kaepernick had some greater cause in mind when he first began sitting the bench. I watched the videos of him back then and I remember thinking that he was just pouting and his "I do what I want" attitude was on display because someone told him to do something (stand for the national anthem). Someone took notice and he had to come up with something to say that sounded good so he went with that. His bad attitude is probably why he's unemployed right now. I have seen the NFL look the other way for a player's heinous behavior, but they will show you the door if your attitude causes problems with the coaching staff or in the locker room.

| PRESIDENT TRUMP is doing a great job of calling attention to
political correctness being used as a weapon to destroy the USA.
The race for FAKE NEWS is still going on as the ratings and character of
these talking heads keep falling which automatically reduces the amount
an advertiser pays for an ad.
Keep your boycott going and keep lowering the viewership on these
channels and help President Trump DRAIN THE SWAMP!! ....
Americans did a wonderful job on Megyn Kelly .... her corrupt mouth,
warped brain and greed for more money for dissing Trump has put
her in the homeless section as she continued to read the cards some
one else had written. It is evident now that she has no thoughts of
her own nor any moral character on reporting genuine news.
What you are witnessing is a planned attack on AMERICAN CULTURE
right out of the Communist Manifesto in order to destroy the USA
by division of classes and race.
The Manifesto
The Communist Manifesto is a brief publication that declares the arguments and platform of the Communist party. It was was written in 1847, by political theorists Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels and was commissioned by the Communist League, a political party based in England.
Manifesto Summary
The Communist Manifesto was published in 1848, and consists of a preamble and four chapters, which are summarized here:
'Bourgeois and Proletarians'
In this chapter, Marx famously states, 'The history of all hitherto existing society is the history of class struggles.' The chapter lays out the position that the bourgeois, through competition and private ownership of land, are forever exploiting and oppressing the proletariat, otherwise known as the working class. Marx then states that the system always results in class conflict and revolution and should be replaced by Communism, a society without class distinctions.
'Proletarians and Communists'
This chapter explains the relationship between the Communist party and other working parties, stating that the Communist party would not organize against them. The chapter also declares the intention of the party to focus on the interests of the proletariat as whole, and not any particular group. This section of the Manifesto also clarifies the main points of the Communist platform, which includes the following ten short term demands:
1.Abolishing ownership of all private property
2.Establishing system of heavy taxation
3.Abolishing the right to inherit
4.Centralizing credit and establishment of a state bank
5.Centralizing communication and transport with the state
6.Confiscating all emigrant and rebel property
7.Extending the means of production to the state
8.Equalizing liability to all levels of labor
9.Combining agriculture and manufacturing industries
10.Establishing a free public education system
11. Organizing terror groups while offering government safety
as you give up your liberty and rights as a human being.
STAY HONEST WITH YOURSELF AND PROTECT OUR COUNTRY
AND OUR WAY OF LIFE BY SUPPORTING PRESIDENT TRUMP'S
EFFORTS TO STIR THE SWAMP WHILE FLUSHING THE TOILET
ONE ITEM AT A TIME!!

| AND ON THE OTHER HAND ...
THIS IS THE NORM FOR NFL OWNERS WITH THEIR HANDS IN TAX
PAYERS POCKETS ... CITY, COUNTY, STATE AND FEDERAL ...
WHILE TAX PAYERS FOOT THE BILL FOR THEIR BIG NEW STADIUMS
NEW ORLEANS SAINTS OWNER >>>
Havard declared, “This is a state-funded sporting event–or subsidized
sporting event, not fully by the state, but it is, so we have all the
right to defund that.” He continued, “I totally agree with their
right to protest and I think it just needs to be done somewhere else.
They can do it in the streets, they can do it on Sunday mornings…
They can do it wherever they want, but not during our National
Anthem. I think it’s disgraceful.”
As reported by an article in Forbes magazine, Tom Benson
the owner of the New Orleans Saints is set to make close to $400
million through 2025 thanks to state taxpayer dollars. As I see it,
why should they be allowed to disrespect not only the flag, but
the American people, police officers, the military, and first
responders who risk their lives everyday to keep us safe?
However, there does seem to be some hope because Rep.
Valerie Hodges has recently asked for for a review of the
team’s state benefits.
**********************************************************
Forbes revealed that, “The state will pay Benson at least $198
million in increased revenue from the Superdome, $142 million
in rental payments on property Benson owns, $10 million in
bonuses for bringing the Super Bowl to New Orleans and $2.6
million in tax breaks. Benson will get another $40 million from
private rent payments to a tower he bought as part of the deal.”
********************************************************
http://goldamerican.info/2017/09/28/saints-get-hit-with-the-worst-n...
AND THEN ON THE FEDERAL LEVEL A BILL IS BEING LOOKED AT
ON SQUASHING THE FED FUNDS ON TAX EXEMPT NFL MONEY ..
One thing people don’t realize is the NFL currently gets over a billion dollars in taxpayer-funded federal subsidies. The fancy stadiums that these entitled players continue to kneel and disrespect our country in were bought and funded by the American tax payer, where we’ve foot the bill for 20 NFL stadiums since 1997.
Over the past 20 years, the American people have spent spent a whopping $7 billion to renovate or build NFL stadiums, providing 46% of the total costs of these fancy stadiums. But all that could soon change after what Congress just announced. In the U.S. Senate, there is a bill currently being reviewed that would BAN the use of federal money for the construction and financing of professional sports arenas. Conservative Fighters reports:
