I keep seeing this new "whitening toothpaste" that everyone is selling on Facebook, is that another one of those schemes?  First off I'm not paying $20 for toothpaste, but everyone is so hush, hust on who even makes it.  Trying to get everyone to sell it too.

yes I worked - it wasn't I won a car - I worked and earned it.... didn't have a car payment for 12 years.  The last one I took cash compensation for
and bought our Dodge dually ton with it... Mary Kay made the payment -  I still had to continue to work to keep it....

There are lots of work from home companies that are basically pyramid schemes.  Mary Kay is probably the worst. but there are lots more.  Don't fall for anything that seems too good to be true, because it isn't.

The ones that have been around forever are not pyramids because you DO have the ability to pass your up line. They wouldn’t have been in business for the past 40 years if they were pyramids.

I was curious (and bored) in the Dr's office waiting room so I googled... I read an article saying that there is only 1300 pink MK caddies in the United States "currently " on the road. Man, those ladies must hustle their rearends off to get those cars!

Yes they do! Since when is selling a product a pyramid scheme anyway?

Mary Kaye, Amway, THRIVE, Primerica - ALL pyramids "guaranteed" to make you rich quick all from the comfort of home! It's funny, you hear ALL about how someone is JUST about to get a FREE car from their successes - then you NEVER see it! Ha!

You must live under a rock. You haven't seen all those pretty pink Caddies running around town? I can assure you that none of those people got them from sitting around waiting to get rich in the comfort of their homes. When I see one of the Caddies, my first thought is "I wonder how many hours they had to put in to get THAT???" Mary Kay has been around for over 50 years. If it was a pyramid scheme it would have died off years ago.

I guess I MUST "live under a rock" I don't see ANY of the pepto-colored cars here!

I actually used to USE Mary Kaye, I have nothing against the products for all you folks who got your panties in a BIG WAD. I just don't like the PUSHY-PUSHY sales tactics of MANY of their members. I liked the product, wanted to BUY the product but didn't want to SELL the product, I have a JOB and sales is NOT IT.

I guess you really haven't seen the MK cars because they are not Pepto colored. They are a pretty shade of pink. I think those ladies are pretty proud of those cars. Need to get out more. they don't make any money if they don't sell so they will sell you their house if they get the chance. Exactly why they drive the pink cars. They work.

Mk and those who sell a "product" are not a true pyramid scheme....they are labeled as multi marketing ..... they are ACTUALLY selling a product .....  Of course, you are going to have "pushy" salespeople in ANY "product" sales. You get that when you walk into a car dealership and get a "pushy" salesman who makes his money with a commission of a sale. The true "scammers" are those whose only interest is to sign people up or entice people to put money into a scheme where THEY are the beneficiary . Those people don't "SELL" ..... they SCAM their family and friends.

While I believe there are some "pyramid" schemes out there, there are some good companies whose distributors sell products and/or services on commission. To me, these are not any different than someone selling a horse on commission or a sales rep making a commission on the products she sells. I've been asked to join several and always declined because I don't want be involved with any thing that is not ethical or legal. My reputation means too much to me for that.

We recently started a program that supports weight loss and healthy living. I teach Chemistry and Physics and I am a natural born skeptic about most anything. The only reason I joined the program was because I saw first hand what the program did for my friends, my husband, and myself. This program has worked for people when nothing else has and seeing people happy about their progress is priceless. My father in law is a diabetic and can't really exercise much and he has been able to get rid of 20 unhealthy pounds which is huge for our family! We want him around to see his grandson grow up! I'm a coach by nature and I enjoy coaching people to their goals both inside and outside of the arena. I do make a commission off the products I sell but I also EARN that money in the coaching that I offer in the program so its just like any sales position but better because I really can help people.

Now was I giving anyone my 100 bucks....no way!

Thanks Dinero - yes, I had to "fire" my hair dresser because she just would not let up! I just wanted to buy and use the product! Heck, I myself am a "marketing partner" for Monet hair care but the only reason I did it was to get the products cheaper! Sales just isn't for me and my hat's off to you guys who are good at it and not pushy!

Good for you!
I don’t see anything in what you describe as anything remotely similar to a pyramid or MLM scheme.

Actually, my name is NEXT LEVEL because I own and operate Next Level Goat Tying Clinics. I put on goat tying clinics, offer instructional videos (for free on my YouTube channel and for purchase on my website...that's www.nextlevelgoattying.net by the way), and coach girls all over the country.

In the last 4 years we've won 3 NHSRA championships, 2 NJHSRA reserve national championships, 2 CNFR reserve championships, and multiple state and regional championships all over the country. The last year, in addition to counting the NHSRA Champion as one of my students, I coached 5 others in the top 15 at the NHSRA finals. At the NJHSFR I had the reserve national champion and 4 of the top 6 girls that I coached.

So the NEXT LEVEL I'm talking about is about training some amazing young women to be the faster than they were before they came to me, bringing more publicity for these young women to the rodeo community, and developing more opportunities for these talented young women.

I only started with my other program about around Thanksgiving but thanks to a degree in Biology and a tendency to be a real nerd that reads too much, I have a pretty good handle on the topic. I am enjoying reading new research and learning about new things though!

well that definitely sounded too good to be true as I saw it on fb too. Yes a pyramid scheme. but with that you end up with nothing. so It is not the same  as MLM. MLM are set up in a "pyramid" type of system but are far from a scheme. With a mlm you actually do make money and get a product with real customer service and a real company
