Kinda Classy.... I just want to say I believe you sure live up to your name. Thank you for trying. I have learned many things on this board over the years, and I hate that topics can't be discussed. Since people are located all over the country I enjoy reading why they feel they way they do.
I hate to do it but I will attempt to explain why I voted for Biden, he would not have been my first choice and I'm very sad we don't have better choices, but who in their right mind would want the job. I don't agree with everything he has done but I like it better than what we had for the reasons listed below.
I don't believe we are the laughing stock of the world anymore, with a leader as unpredictable as Kim Jung Un. I didn't like the fact that he was best buds with Putin & Kim Jung Un instead of allies.
I'm glad he rejoined the WHO I think this is a world problem not just ours. I believe if we had paid better attention we wouldn't be in this mess.
I'm happy he has put in people who know how government works instead of cronies. The post office mess comes to mind. All of my bills are late and I received a check yesterday postmarked 12/9/20. He really put a good person in charge, who destroyed storting machines. I guess we were out of storage.
I couldn't vote for Trump because of him auctioning off drilling rights in Alaska, he said it was going to make all kinds of money and it was auctioned of for very little. At least an Alaskan company bought it, if they want to destroy it go ahead I won't go there it's too cold. However I believe if he was in there longer he would have destroyed other National Parks too.
The Keystone pipeline..... I really don't know. Don't they already have one? Isn't is used to export Canadian oil we don't want to refine in America? If so just who does that help? I see what we did to the Indians and how we treat them. All you people griping about immigrants better think about how they are treated. I would be pretty concerned about it going thru a water supply for so many, especially since so many regulatons have be relaxed. I can pay a little more for gas if it means clean water for many.
I thought the way Alexander Vindman and other diplomats were treated over the perfect phone call was horrible.
I listened to all the Trump rallies and I read all news sites, I never get my news from here or facebook, even read newsmax. I could never vote for him for the way he did his rallies. He never mentions what his plan is just trashes people and makes up names. He was addicted to the campaign trail and his followers and many to him. I do believe he enjoyed them storming the capitol or he would have sent the national guard in sooner or at least taken the phone calls instead of watching on TV.
I truly enjoy that we have a press secretary who answers questions and does not consider the press the enemy. I can't believe in the middle of an election and a pandemic, President Trump said his biggest problem was the press. I guess if you don't want them to know the shady things you do it's a problem. What about him calling the GA guy insisting he won and wanting 11,000 votes? Sure sounded like a mob shake down to me.
If Hillary would have files 60 lawsuits...... would you all still say she won?
I could go or I could be like another poster and just delete it because the posse willl mount up and attack. However you ask and I thought you had good intentions. I sure hope they Keep it Classy. Have a great day.
Please reference my highlighted comment in your quote..................
Do you remember in 2008 when Diesel Fuel hit $4.60 per gallon? Would you be willing to pay these kinds of prices (again) for "clean water for many"? I believe these kinds of operating prices are capable of bankrupting many consumers. So again, would You be willing to bankrupt people to provide 'clean water for many'?
Well since most people can't drink gas or oil, I believe I would. I see many people pay that for fancy bottled water now. I do believe you keep drilling and fracking and tinkering with Mother Nature you are going to pay one way or another. JMO

Honestly, I did NOT vote for Biden.
However, I didn't think that the first week would be this bad. Cutting the pipeline and re-joining the Paris deal are bad news.
My heart breaks for all of the girls in sports who are dang good athletes, but simply won't be able to outdo a male who grows his hair out and says he's gal. Not to mention when grown men "gay" or not are in locker rooms with them.
Not to mention spending millions to send to another country to help them build a border wall and then wanting to rip ours down.
I just saw a congolomeration post on FB about Twitter exploding with unhappy Biden voter posts. Mostly regret with my same sentiments. Didn't think it would be this bad, can't believe he turned on us (union voter), he said this, but did that, types of comments.
Has anyone even read the Paris deal? It's not bad or good, it's a hoax. Its a bunch of countries that decided to turn in a piece of paper stating what they would be doing in the coming years for the environment but have no obligation to actually achieve any of it. They then took those pieces of paper and stapled them together and said, "here is the Paris Agreement". "The Paris Agreement requires all Parties to put forward their best efforts through “nationally determined contributions”", but these "nationally determined contributions" are only what each country says they are going to try to do and there's no time frame that they have to be done and no one is held accountable to them because the timeline states, "no timeline specified". hahahaha The entire agreement uses words like, recognize, acknowledge, take note, invites, encourages.... blah blah blah. The thing is BS, nothing to be afraid of, nothing but a political tool for both parties!! Obama did it to make it look like he actually gave a sh*t and Trump backed out to save face with republicans and now Biden is back in to make himself look good to the Democrates.

Thank you for being nice. I don't believe you can blame the diesel prices from 2008 on the democrats since Bush was in office. As much as I disliked Bush in office I thought the 3 past presidents together offering support and assistance to Biden was telling and welcomed.

Location: Bastrop, Texas | There's so much I could say in response to some of these posts, but most of it I've already said, sometimes repeatedly over the past year, so I think I'll try to direct some focus on some new ideas coming out of the neo-liberal Marxist left. Take a good look at the first proposed "HR 1". Pay attention because this could really effect you in a big way. They have the audacity of calling this the "For the People Act". The bill starts off by declaring that, contrary to Article I of the United States Constitution, Congress has an "ultimate supervisory power over federal elections". Under Article 1, states ultimately have the power of determining how they handle elections. Florida, for example, requires a photo ID. California doesn't....all they care about is Democratic Party domination. If H.R. 1 passes, all 50 states will be like California.... the entire country will have ballot harvesting and mail-in voting. Think about that. The bill establishes that a state government CANNOT require voters to provide "any form of identification" in seeking an absentee ballot. This is the kind of thing that drove hundreds of thousands of irate disenfranchised citizens to riot in the Capitol. You see, as far as neo-liberal Democrats are concerned, some rioting is OK, depending on the composition of the rioters and their grievances. The riots in blue cities like Portland, Seattle, Kenosha, Minneapolis, and NY were far more destructive, and far more deadly, but even the obscenely radically biased mainstream media could not convinced us not to believe our lying eyes. The riot in DC was because tens of millions were fed up with the same tactics the left is trying to codify into national law, under this "For The People Act". Under HR 1, people could freely go house to house and apartment to apartment collecting thousands of ballots and then dump them all in a ballot dropbox. No one would have any idea if those ballots had been tampered with at any point along the way or would there be any way to prove it if they had been tampered with. Under H.R. 1, (people) could freely go house to house and apartment to apartment collecting unknown thousands of ballots and then dump them all in a ballot dropbox. It also makes it harder for election observers to file complaints about any of this because complaining is "racist." The idea that any free country would permit this is obviously absurd, but that's what they are trying to do. This is suicidal for any country because it will establish essentially one party rule...a "UniParty". It uniformly legalizes tactics that even Democrats themselves condemned not long ago. Many countries such as Canada and France do not allow mail-in voting for this reason. Virtually all western civilization has uniform voter ID laws....except the USA. The hypocrisy of powerful wealthy left wing oligarchs like Jeff Bezos is brazen and disgustingly illustrated by Bezos' opposition to mail in voting for the unionization election in Alabama. Who among us can't see the hypocrisy? You should know this is not considered hypocrisy by neo-libs. They don't mind if they are caught breaking their own rules, they are not offended by double standards. They want power, this is a power grab and that's all it is. There's even a law proposed by a Florida Democrat, Steph Murphy that, in essence says if you happen to believe in forbidden things, you don't get a security clearance. You can't work in government. Murphy's bill would require federal investigators to ask all applicants whether they had "associated with or knowingly engaged in activities conducted by an organization or movement that spreads conspiracy theories and false information about the United States government". But what about Adam Schiff's conspiracy theories? Weren't they proven to be false? We spent over a year and $44 million and Schiff's nonsense was thoroughly "debunked". Under Murphy's law, Schiff, would potentially be unable to hold his current job - which is in the federal government - due to repeatedly pushing claims about President Trump's alleged collusion with the Kremlin. We watched and listened to THOSE unproven conspiracy theories for years...and they continue, without consequences. Yes, they the left was knee deep in conspiracy theories that actually hurt our country in measurable ways - but this legislation isn't designed to punish THEM - just the opposite - this legislation is designed to protect them from YOUR criticism. Trump is a civilian now. He's out of office.....but they want to remove him from ever exposing the truth about these oily corrupt bastards anyway, just to be safe. 75 million people see what's going on.

Location: Bastrop, Texas | I think the left wants to remain fixated on woke-ness, "racial justice", race "equity", gender dysphoria, critical race theory, "white guilt", virtue shaming, pandering in general, and of course "Orange Man Bad". None of these are at the top of the list of important issues to the vast majority of Americans who fall within the bell curve. Certainly, most who frequent sites like this aren't even remotely concerned with these contrived concerns of leftists. There's no need for me to list specific issues that matter most to us. We all know what they are. They don't want to delve into detailed discussions of these issues. Anyone else notice that? Trump is a civilian now, so they are beginning to realize that "Orange Man Bad" as a rallying cry won't be very useful, going forward. They'll have to switch to things like demonizing 75 million voters as "white supremacists", Nazi's, "Proud Boys", and sh!t like that.
Well, guess what? We have a monopoly on power in the US. They have to play defense. For me, there's a target rich environment out there.

I think Biden is doing the best he can do under the circumstances he inherited. He can't fix all the wrongs of the previous administration overnight. Especially in the middle of a terrible pandemic that the previous administration had ignored and left no plan in place.
He really hasn't done anything yet. He has at least changed the tone from the white house to adult instead of the immature rantings coming the last 4 years. Biden is a moderate. He is going to govern from the middle. But first order of business is the pandemic. And it should be.
I'm curious. This is not an attack on you. You know me and you know that's not what I intend.
I voted for Trump both times, knowing he had some rather obvious character flaws, and I definitly did not agree with some of his policies or the words that came out of his mouth. I did not appreciate or approve of how he approached/handled some things. I'm pretty sure you know I would have slapped a muzzle on him and broke his twitter finger if I could have. I knew that I didn't vote for a polished politician. But I felt that overall, he was trying to get back to taking care of America and the American people first. And he said a lot of things that I honestly felt, but was too diplomatic to say out loud.
I really do believe that we need to take care of the environment. We are doing a lot of damage to the planent we live on. But how in the world can it be good for the US with the unemployment rate and economic crisis, to shut down the pipeline work? The initial jobs lost? The trickle down effect in that area with other jobs associated with the pipeline (materials, resturants, lodging)? The potential to go back to being reliant on foriegn oil? The potential price swings affecting the entire US? I honestly dont get how this was a decision with the American people's best intrest at heart.
Maybe you can explain the other side of this decision and help me understand.
Giving this a bump up since jd&ez is on here, Maybe he will give his friend KindaClassy a answer. Shes asking in a way a friend would ask another friend.

| Palopony Thank you for your response and kind words. I know it is scary to stick your neck out there and state your thoughts in this day and age. I'm heartned with the responses to your post. The group probably won't be sitting around the campfire and singing kumbaya any time soon, but it is nice to read a discussion instead of a fight. I was struck when I read your reasonings of why you voted the way you did. It's strange how I feel the same way you do about somethings, but ended up still voting for Trump. I don't believe we are the laughing stock of the world anymore, with a leader as unpredictable as Kim Jung Un. I didn't like the fact that he was best buds with Putin & Kim Jung Un instead of allies. While I didn't always like how Trump's actions might come across to the more "refined" part of the world, I agreed with the sentiment that it was time for a different type of "diplomacy". Traditional diplomacy hadn't been working Kim Jung Un - I think that he needed to realize that there might be another leader that was just as crazy as he was, and that he better think twice about all the muscle flexing he was doing. Once the point got across that America wasn't going to be the lapdog it had previously been, I was ok with both of them sticking their chests out and being "buds". That is the kind of self centered personalities they both had. Sometimes you stroke it to get what you want. Hopefully, the uneasy peace and diplomacy can continue. I'm glad he rejoined the WHO I think this is a world problem not just ours. I believe if we had paid better attention we wouldn't be in this mess. I was also bothered by leaving the WHO. I do think that more should have been done to hold China accountable for not admitting what was going on and the severity of the virus. I can understand the frustration with the WHO, but I feel the good benefits of being in it outweighed the bad. And you can put more pressure to change from the inside than the outside. COVID illustrates that diseases don't automatically stop at the border, you might as well work together. We get more research done when you collaborate instead of doing it all yourself. There are also so many things that the WHO works on besides covid, like polio and influenzia. I'm happy he has put in people who know how government works instead of cronies. The post office mess comes to mind. All of my bills are late and I received a check yesterday postmarked 12/9/20. He really put a good person in charge, who destroyed storting machines. I guess we were out of storage. I too was bothered and not impressed with some of his picks. I embraced the idea of let's put a businessman in office and run the government better. But in my mind I thought a businessman was somebody sucessful because he knew how to do his functions well, and when he didn't know how to do something, he hired those that did. Some of Trumps initiaves were shot down on technicalities because they wern't researched and presented properly. Sometimes his own hubris kept him from getting as much done as he could have. My feelings are mixed on the environmental side. I'm all for a balanced approach to navigating the move away from less fossel fuels to more clean energy. Until they figure out how to make planes fly powered by solar panels and how to generate energy for electric charging stations - fossel fuel use is still a necessity. My biggest gripe about the pipeline is the loss of jobs in an economic recession. Not just the welders, but all the other trickle down effects. I thought the way Alexander Vindman and other diplomats were treated over the perfect phone call was horrible. Yep. Trump did it. He got caught and he tried to deflect. Not his finest moment. I was bothered by the rallies too. I'm a give me substance, not just campagining kinda girl. I think he got caught up in the hubris side of it. For me, the attack on the capital was just about the final straw. I had become more and more botherd by his assertions that the election had been stolen- yet it seems that no actual proof ever came out. Its amazing how good the conspiracy to steal the election has been (sarcasm) because I still - maybe naively - believe that someway, somehow the truth comes out in these things. And his call to the GA election guy? Telling. When Trump didn't immedietly respond to the riot - that was also telling about his character. While I do allow that there could have been some other players involved in the riot - I definitly believe that Trump's retoric through the years, his rallies, his actions after the election, and his holding a ralley on the day of the certification all helped set the stage for that to happen. In my opinion he is not blameless for that. I think the press is part of the problem. News today is soooo far from being unbiased it should be ashamed of itself. Everything has a slant and I don't appreciate that you have to go to 10 different sources to finally piece together what actually happened. If Hillary would have files 60 lawsuits...... would you all still say she won? No. I believe she lost. Just like I can believe that Trump ****ed off enough people that he lost. I could go or I could be like another poster and just delete it because the posse willl mount up and attack. However you ask and I thought you had good intentions. I sure hope they Keep it Classy. Have a great day. With all that I have admitted that i didn't like about Trump's 1st presidency- it's probably surprising that I voted for him for a 2nd time. This is why i did. 1. Despite what I thought of his character flaws, I honestly believed he wanted to help build America back up again. The jobs. The economy. The people instead of a the political party. I'm sooooo tired of politics. 2. I wanted fair and legal immigration. People coming into the US through the proper channels. I wanted the to be citizens and pay their share of taxes instead of being a burdon and being suported by the system. And don't make a system where it was easier to be a immigrant businessman instead of an American businessman? Don't get me started on the Indians with the gas stations and the hotels. The playing field should be equal. 3. Non-citizens should NOT be counted for voting purposes. Period. 4. Canceling college debt is BS. They should have thought longer and harder about the education they were getting and it's cost. I had to. 5. I can't handle some of the directions the Democratic party is going. This is probably going to label me a racist - but I have a problem with BLM and sometimes the black population in general. I honestly don't think I'm a racist, but I am judgemental. I do believe that sestemic racism exists. I do believe there are cases of police brutality. Those things need to be delt with harshly and eradicated. There are a lot of challenges stacked against the black population. That is WRONG. But what is also wrong is the failure of a sizeable percentage of a race to take accountablity for their own actions. Stop when the police tell you to. Maybe don't shoot at the police- or at rival gangs. Stop selling drugs. Stop making excuses and start taking some action to make a change. Stop trying to live the thug life and strive toward living a respectable and productive one. These are also the kind of things I'd say to any white, latino, mexican, romanian, chinese or whatever person that was acting the fool. I'm still struggling with the gender question issues. I'm trying to have an open mind and be empathetic. I'ts a challenge but I'm trying to see the other side. 6. This is probably the biggest reason of all. While I actually don't have that much of an issue with Biden, I have a lot of issues with the people behind him and those that are front and center in the Democratic party. I probably would have voted for Ted Bundy or Putin before I voted for a Democrat,.

I know it is scary to stick you neck ot there and state your thoughts in this day and age. I couldn't vote for Trump because of him auctioning off drilling rights in Alaska, he said it was going to make all kinds of money and it was auctioned of for very little.

JMO
Might I add that the bottled water you get at the store, was transported there in a diesel truck, along with everything else in the store so a few more cents for gas or diesel is going to be passed along to you. Obviously, you know nothing about pipelines. I was fortunate to go on a tour of the Eastman plastics plant near me. They use natural gas as fast as they can get it to the plant so the use a LOT. Some comes in and down loaded from tank cars a some comes into the plant via pipelines. They have a tiny electric charge on the pipe that tells them if there is any problem. Computers pointed out an area where there was a problem. The sent a pipeline crew out and there was a small amount of corrosion on the pipe where the computer said. The pipeline runs through a lake that is the water supply for several area cities. Pipelines are very closely monitored today. So when you say they will contaminate anyone's water you are very miss informed. By the way, the sewage from one area city is all put back into a local river and the local sanitary landfill is about the coolest place I have been lately. I wish I had come up with that idea I would be rich now! You might want to read up on today's environmental standards and controls. Very informative.

KindaClassey, I have a question for you, Do you think that Trump hurt the womens movement? Just curious
The only way thing that comes to mind is the possible implications of a conservative supreme court if Roe V Wade is ever revisited. I'm in favor of a woman still being able to control their reproductive rights. Is there something you have thought of that I didn't?
