Location: Arkansas | I just got in from work and am so glad to read it went well. I was at my desk around 2:30 and couldn't get Jacob and you off my mind. . . . Loved that Miss Roxie called him "our BHW child"----he's had so many prayers lifting him up and asking for protection today, and our God answers prayers EVERYDAY |

| We finally got out of recovery and into our own room upstairs. He came out of Anethesia pretty well, he's had some bouts of nausea and vomiting. He's resting somewhat comfortable right now, only allowing for a few sips of water here and there. His "A" team is with him tonight, my daughter and myself! Hopefully he can get more rest.. I'm not planning on getting much this night, but my daughter and I will go home tomorrow morning when his father gets here and we will get some much needed rest! Thank you all so much for the prayers today, huge day for Jacob! |

| I think we had a better night than expected. He did get pretty sick to his stomach, just once, ever since then he's been ok. Still only on a few sips of water and ice chips as needed. He's really being a trooper thru all the poking and prodding all thru the night! His color is back to normal, he was so pale yesterday. He's resting pretty comfortable right now.

| We stopped in and saw him last night, it was his father's night to stay with him. I brought his favorite foods with me. Cantaloupe, string cheese, s'mores ice cream and some chewy granola bars. They gave us the green light to start giving solid foods. He about 3 bites of cantaloupe while I was there. They had him up out of bed yesterday too and got him walking a little. He is still with the epidural and catheter. Probably a few more days with that. They also gave him a "pain button" he can push to administer a stronger pain medication as needed. We are hoping each day he gets better and stronger. His little sweet face lit up when our very on oncologist, Dr. Grayson, walked into our room to just check on him. We absolutely love our dr, the most kind and gentle soul, he is. He gave us the good news that our surgeon got everything nasty out of him. We are in a wonderful children's hospital. Even his recovery nurse from downstairs came up yesterday just to see how he was doing and his anesthesiologist came up too. It honestly feels like the entire children's hospital staff is rallying around our Jacob! We are getting ready to go back to the hospital in a while. It did feel good to sleep in my bed last night and I got much needed rest! Tonight, my mother, his grandma, will take the night shift with him. My youngest son needs momma right now, he's so confused and has been acting out a bit so I'll stay home and take him to school tomorrow and go back to the hospital for jacob. I'll be relieved when we can discharge jake from the hospital and get home! |

That is so great to hear that hes recovering so well. When my nephew broke his neck he had to wear a halo, after it was placed the whole surgical team came to check up on him the next day. The Children's hospital's are so good with the young kids, they make the children feel like a rockstar.
I bet Jake will be super ready to get home when he can and be in his own room and bed.. What a trooper Jake is.
