This desease is not political. It doesn't care if the person is a republican or a realist. Only idiots of every party make it political.

That's correct.  It is a bipartisan virus.  It will kill a princess (one passed away today) and it will kill a homeless derelict with equal ferocity. It can kill Democrats, Republicans, communists, capitalists, men, women, blacks, whites, Chinese, Christians, Muslims, Buddhists, Gay, and straight.
We've never seen anything quite like this.  Nobody anticipated it, even though there's been talk about it for decades.  The world was caught with its pants down.
It will pass, and heaven help us if we don't learn from it.

I'm bored so was looking at this thread from the beginning, and man things sure have changed, one was saying this disease was from eating bats" All the deaths in China are due to them eating bats and other animals that are not free from diseases and not preparing them property to eat" "CDC has to push some disease or the other every couple of years to keep their funding up" " The media is just blowing up this scare so the news networks can make more money" "Its all a hoax"

And now look at where we stand fighting this horrible disease, people are dying and New York City is in big trouble fighting to save lives as the rest of the states are. Prayers for us all to stay healthy

I'm definitely scared. I wasnt in the beginning because I was thinking this would be over sooner than it started and everything would be fine... not any worse than the flu .... I dont think that way anymore. I'm legit scared. Paranoid even. I'm cleaning like a crazed woman. If I go out,  I only do curbside... even at TSC. I'm avoiding the "hotspot" ... even to get the cheapest diesel right now. I'm taking a trip today to drop off a bottle of hand sanitizer to my sweet niece  on the other side of town. Shes in healthcare, a radiologist tech and has been exposed to several covid patients over the last few days. They have sanitizer at the hospital where she works but she cannot find any for her personal use. My husband found her some masks at one of his stores he delivers to and he got her a box. They literally have no masks for the workers in these hospitals. She had to throw away the 2 she had after using them because the patients tested positive for covid. It's a sad sad situation how truly unprepared we are as a society.  I pray everyday for this to end and for protection for everyone. Yes there are people recovering..  praise Jesus! But people are dying ... healthy people... a principle in Waco just recently passed away from it, he was at the school helping teachers pass out work packets for the students. He was in his 40s with no underlying health issues.. this virus is so completely unpredictable. Schools are closed till at least May. It saddens me to read some of the parents I know complaining about having their kids at home and how inconvenienced they are and how much they need to drink to cope... mommy needs wine stuff or one that really sticks out is the one saying shes completely lost it and would rather take chances than have to be homeschooling their kids right now. Its disgusting. I suppose it's not a shock for me to have my kids at home .. I've been homeschooling since before this and I'd have it no other way... virus outbreak or not. But it just makes me sad that these "parents" who are home anyway, "cant stand" this anymore, having the kids safe at home. I hope im.not sounding judgy but it just really ticked me off. And put things into perspective on how majority of  society is ...

Starting April 2, Laredo Texas residents will have to cover their mouth and nose when entering a bulding that is not their home, this includes offices, public transits, outdoor gas stations and so on. There will be a fine up to 1,000 $ if not wearing any type of cover when out in public.

So horrible that its gotton to this point. For the ones that dont know where Laredo is its on the mexican border, its a huge city that sisters into Mexico.

Adam Schiff is already working on organizing a commission to investigate the virus response from the WH.  If there is actually a lower than lower than a snake's belly, this guy is it.

I know this virus is bad, but I can't help but wonder, when will we get to go back to life?

I feel like we went from let's take this week by week to everything is shut down for another month.

My optimism is fading quick, I personally have no faith that we will be back to normal until closer to July.

My boss and I were just talking about how this effecting people mentally. How much longer until we start to see a spike in suicide? I'm sure there is already a spike in domestic and child abuse.

I know it's wearing on me, and I'm still able to go to work, go to the ranch to check cows, and ride. I can't imagine what it would be doing to me if I was stuck at home expect for getting groceries.

I'm mostly just thinking out loud but how long can this "shut down" really go on.

Again, I'm not saying this isn't a big deal and precautions don't need to be taken but it feels like there is no end in sight.

What a loser.  I say let him do it.  Every time they pull stunts like that, Trump's approval goes up.
Meanwhile his party's candidate is locked up in a dungeon.  He hasn't made a remotely helpful suggestion since this started...other than his being against the xenophobic  travel bans.  Uffda

I've always liked living out in the country away from all the cities ... sometimes I'd complain a little about how long it takes to get to the store or go eat somewhere decent or the ups/FedEx not being able to find us ... but times like this, I'm not complaining one bit. I'm so thankful we are where we are. I too couldn't imagine living in town with neighbors so close you can hear them flush, I can safely send my kids outside and not worry about them breaking the social distancing rules. Theres no shortage of things to do that's for sure!  Sure, we cant call grub hub or pizza hut for delivery but it's a small trade off to me.

Funny, Pelosi has asked that Trump seek advice from the clueless Biden and where-is-he-hidin' Obama.  I don't think either one of them want to crawl out of their fraidy holes.  A little support from past presidents wouldn't be a bad thing.  Devon Nunes is already after Schiff.

Why cant Trump just beable to do his job without these people interfering? What would they have done in his shoes? What could they do better? Its just a shame, our country is in trouble and these people just keep slaming Trump instead of pulling together and getting this coronavirus stoped/beat, they should all be standing together since we are all in this together.

I think it's today Trump is working on meeting with oil executives to try to smooth over the trade war between Russia and the Saudis which is doing great harm to our own oil and gas industry.  Meanwhile Nancy is working on a plan to lower taxes on the California wealthy.

Right down there in the corner, Meep Meep and Palo, the little laugh button that you're so fond of.  Go for it.  It's kind of a kindergarten thing isn't it.

I dont get this, the citys have been pretty much shut down, no events allowed for safty no large get togethers, But why are the Cruise Ships still allowed to operate, allow to sail with hundreds of people on board? Now they have 2 that are docking in Florida with hundreds of sick people that are testing positive for coronavirus and some have died, the Gov did allowed the ships to dock, now Florida has to deal with all this, just dont make sense as to why they are still allowing cruse ships to sail. And WHY would anybody want to be on a cruise ship with all this horrible happenings, people just dont have any common sense.

I haven’t done any research on it, but when did those cruise ships leave? Hasn't it been about 2-3 weeks since Trump asked the cruise lines to shut down?

Have they been on the ships this whole time?

I just don't understand how there is anyone on a cruise ship anywhere right now.

It was announced that the first confirmed case has hit the town/county where I work.

Maybe if Bear, sees this he can give some answers:

I understand because of HIPAA they cannot give out the person who tested positives name, but why are they so vague about it. It just said his age and that he was a male. Nothing about where he had been, grocery stores, gas stations etc. . . or where he worked, although we live in a small community so his identity could be easily figured out.

I want to know if it is someone I would of came in contact with. .

I know it's stupid and vain, but I booked an appointment to get my brows microbladed 2 months ago, the appointment is Saturday. I really want to go, just for some sort of normalcy, but then the responsible adult part of me kicks in and says to reschedule. I feel bad because that is money I am taking out of a small business owners pocket, for now anyway.

I can't answer your question, but it's true that they cannot disclose his name.  Ideally, public health officials can contact all contacts and inform them of their contact, so they can act accordingly.  If you are wondering about testing, yes I can understand why it would be nice to know, but even a negative test might not really help all that much, because the test may convert to positive several days down the road. While it might sound harsh, the sensible thing to do, if you have come in contact with someone who is Covid19-positive, would be to self-quarantine.  Testing would be indicated if you developed significant symptoms.  Even then, the last place you want to be is in a hospital, unless you are real sick.  They really can't do anything more for you than you can do for yourself at home at this point.
