NJJ has a cousin that lost a BIL to the virus, I think it was week befor last that he pasted away from it. I think befor this is all over for this year we all will know of someone that has gotton really sick from it unfortunately.. I just wonder what next year will bring us "(
I think you are so right. One of my best friends lost his sister. She died alone in the hospital and was buried without a funeral. My nephew has recovered. The nursing home in my very small town has had 5 deaths and virtually residents are infected.
A nursing home thats also a rehabilitation center in San Antoino had 18 residents die within days of each other. And other nursing homes in the Austin area are getting hard hit too I just heard. I just dont see an end to this horrible virus.
I have a feeling shutting down the border could make a difference. How many carriers walk across unchecked. |

Yes, my cousin is a member of a very small country church (25-30 member) in Wilton Iowa. Very early on, the first death in that county was a lady member of that church (I think she was in her late 50s - early 60s). Then my cousin younger BIL (50s) and his wife contracted the virus but have VERY slowly recovered. The older BIL (76) was moved to a nursing home for rehabilitation after a surgery, contracted the virus and passed last week....so four members of the same small congregation. |

I think that this is just so sad and horrible that someone that has the coronavirus and is that sick and then dies, they have to do this all alone with out any family member with them, this is just so wrong, this is what scares me the most about this virus is that this person is alone the whole time if placed in a hospital and then it gets really bad and they die alone, this is just not right. |

Even people who have go to the hospital for other serious non-covid situations are alone. A jockey that is a good friend had a horse go down with him at the track. He required three serious surgeries as a result. One family member was allowed in surgery waiting and allowed to talk to doctor afterwards. But not allowed to see the individual. He spent entire hospital time alone. Same for another friend that has emergency surgery that resulted in kidney renoval. |

That's a good question. I was inclined to say, "it couldn't hurt", but in today's world, it's not hard to see lawsuits over skin cancer in people exposed to those indoor UV light a few years from now. |

The application of antibody testing is finding a lot of people who were exposed to Covid19 who were also asymptomatic. |

If I were a young entrepreneur, I would get on this and sell this setup to restaurants and bars. I'd love to see someone jump on this ASAP. They could make a killing....go for it. I even have a name...a "ViZap". Kinda catchy, wouldn't you say?

We went to a funeral today, and there are people that absolutely are not concerned about touching and leaning in and shaking hands etc. They were sanitizing the pen at the sign in book after anyone touched it and had a huge jar of Germex sitting there also. My family was in a little group the appropriate distance away from everyone else. People kept coming up to Daddy and wanting to shake hands; my daddy can see very little and some folks grabbed his hand before he even knew they were close. I finally sent Sean to the truck for my sanitizer and we just kept slathering it on us and even some other folks. . . It broke my heart to have to be standoffish because this was a man that I grew up around and loved. God help us in this world we are living in. . . When they called his daughter to tell her to get to the hospital ASAP the day he died, she had been fishing and came straight from the lake--because she registered a temp (I'm assuming from her skin being hot from the sun) she wasn't able to go in. . . . |

I have been wondering if the high humidity, very warm temperatures and lots of sunshine was a factor in our county. We have 90 cases, only a very small amount were admitted to the hospital and only a handful went to ICU and no deaths, although one is listed as Covid related. The person was recovered from Covid but weeks later died of a heart attack, so they labeled it Covid. We are a coastal county in South Texas and really have fared quite well. |

My DIW's grandmother passed away a few days ago and the funeral was today down in the Rio Grande Valley, we didnt go but of course my son and his wife and kids were there, so I'm really curious how it went, I'll be asking him when he gets back. She didnt died of the coronavirus just from being sick for the last year of her life. My son and his family been down there for the past week since they knew that the grandmother didnt have much longer, so I dont know if they got to see her while she was in the hospital or not, sure hope so thou. |

Momma's cousin died a couple of weeks ago in FL from cancer. Her children could look at her from outside her hospital window, but they did let her husband stay with her. It's heartbreaking to see the pictures of her children and grandchildren pressed against the window saying goodbye. |
