| I wanted to introduce myself to everyone. I am the Report Manager for Stolen Horse International aka NetPosse.com - we would like to help those that have been affected by this situation. I've been messaging with a few individuals already. The ones I have been in contact with are cases we can help search for their horses in attempt to locate them with the goal of trying to recover the horse. Of course every case may be different....the person that has the horse may not know the situation. If anyone is interested in speaking with me further, feel free to email me at [email protected]. We want to gather as much evidence as possible to present to the detective on your cases. By coming from a well known non-profit organization that has been doing this for nearly 19 years, they tend to take the information we provide them as evidence they can use. We work with law enforcement all over the US. We are international so we can assist with cases that my have crossed the US borders. |

On another note, don't be afraid to call and be like: So I think the horse I purchased was stolen before I purchased it. You won't get in trouble people!!! |

Also a lesson learned, if someone (even if they do not own the horse) insures a horse, you cannot also insure the horse.
The insurance agency cannot tell me anything about the policy or when it expires, how much it is for etc since it is in Lydia's name, however the insurance company and agency once given her information did decide to assist me and insure my horse, but this is another thing she did.
Wowzers that sounds like a mess.... |

| How can anyone keep up with all of her alias'? There could be many more names she has used on other people and they have no clue. |

Location: The best kept secret in TX | There was an update posted in the other forum by TooManyPonies and it looks like they are prosecuting it as a federal crime spree. So 10-20 Years each. Which means they will most likely only spend 5-10 years in jail for all of it due to overcrowding. While I am happy they are finally getting jail time, that doesn't seem like enough time to me. |

This is the update from the other thread......I certainly hope that everyone who has been scammed does what is required and she is put away for a VERY long time !
Tomanyponies - 2016-09-14 3:01 PM I just got off the phone with Sgt. Detective Mark Kreiger regarding the case against Lyda Culp. Since she has warrant's all over there is NO BOND. They are keeping both she and her boyfriend in jail. They are sorting thru the mounds of information that she kept, yes, kept. Since she scammed people across the United States they are looking to prosecute this as a FEDERAL case. He told me they are looking at 10 to 20 years for both of them. Lydia is giving up pieces of information. They have confiscated all types of equipment, boats, trailers, etc........ If you were scammed by her follow these directions. Go to your local Police/Sheriff Department file a claim against her; scam whatever she did to you Make sure you tell them that this is a MULTI STATE INVESTIGATION Give them any information you may have; Bill of Sale, Text Messages, etc Give the local authorities Sgt. Detective Mark Kreiger phone number 330-425-1234 in Twinsburg, Ohio Contact Sgt. Detective Mark Kreiger phone number 330-425-1234 in Twinsburg, Ohio [email protected] Hope this helps. My sister did the snooping and gave me his phone number. |

She still faces felony charges in Texas on the horse that won't be part of the federal suit so she may face more time there -- possibly anywhere from 6 months - 10 years depending on how they charged the case. The prosectuor in Texas can ask that the sentence be stacked to any others -- meaning that she won't get credit for it along with the federal charges at the same time. The Texas Judge will have to approve the "stacking" of the punishment but in this case, it might be granted. |

It wasn't just money that she stole from people. I'm sure she has a lot of money tied up in "Things" and Horses as well. Let's not forget the jeep and rock crawlers she had. Those are expensive... They count the value of whatever item she steals to add it to the total amount of what she has stolen.
To give those who have no idea well, an idea lol A felony amount of stolen property here in TX whether it be money, horses, things etc is defined as "Class A" misdemeanor: $500 or more, but less than $1,500. State Jail felony: $1,500 ormore, but less than $20,000. Third degree felony: $20,000 or more, but less than $100,000. Second degree felony: $100,000 but less than $200,000. First Degree Felony $200,000 or more. And a second degree felony only has 5 to 99 years prison time and a $10,000 fine. If she were to be prosecuted in TX I don't think she would ever get out of jail.... Especially considering the second degree felony charges are 5 to 99 years in prison... |

Back in 2015 they updated that value scale -- she's still in trouble underneath it regardless because of the large monetary value of things she stole but those values are the old ones:
Level
Old New (as of 9/1/15) Class C Misd 1)<$50 <$100 Class B Misd$50 – $500 $100 – $750 Class A Misd$500 – $1,500 $750 – $2,500 State Jail Felony$1,500 – $20,000 $2,500 – $30,000 3rd Degree Felony$20,000 – $100,000 $30,000 – $150,000 2nd Degree Felony$100,000 – $200,000 $150,000 – $300,000 1st Degree Felony>$200,000 >$300,000
Depending on any prior convictions on her record, the punishment level can be enhanced up accordingly. For instance, if you have a conviction for theft of $100 back in 1997 and a theft by check in 2005, the next theft (value $1-1500) becomes a state jail felony -- even if you only got caught stealing a $10 item from Wal-Mart. Convictions from other states count too.
Texas will also use other felony convictions -- no matter what type of charge the original felony was -- to sometimes enhance new felonies and they can use convictions in other states if they can get the paperwork proving the conviction on them. A state jail felony can easily become enhanced to a 3rd degree if previous convictions are there to support the enhancement.
