I knew it was a lot, but had no idea that it was that much! What did she do with all that money?????? I know, ran from the law, moved to different states, scammed anyone she could to stay on the run. It wasn't just money that she stole from people. I'm sure she has a lot of money tied up in "Things" and Horses as well. Let's not forget the jeep and rock crawlers she had. Those are expensive...
They count the value of whatever item she steals to add it to the total amount of what she has stolen.
To give those who have no idea well, an idea lol A felony amount of stolen property here in TX whether it be money, horses, things etc is defined as "Class A" misdemeanor: $500 or more, but less than $1,500. State Jail felony: $1,500 ormore, but less than $20,000. Third degree felony: $20,000 or more, but less than $100,000. Second degree felony: $100,000 but less than $200,000. First Degree Felony $200,000 or more. And a second degree felony only has 5 to 99 years prison time and a $10,000 fine. If she were to be prosecuted in TX I don't think she would ever get out of jail.... Especially considering the second degree felony charges are 5 to 99 years in prison... Back in 2015 they updated that value scale -- she's still in trouble underneath it regardless because of the large monetary value of things she stole but those values are the old ones:
Level
Old New (as of 9/1/15)
Class C Misd 1 )<$50 <$100
Class B Misd$50 – $500 $100 – $750
Class A Misd$500 – $1,500 $750 – $2,500
State Jail Felony$1,500 – $20,000 $2,500 – $30,000
3rd Degree Felony$20,000 – $100,000 $30,000 – $150,000
2nd Degree Felony$100,000 – $200,000 $150,000 – $300,000
1st Degree Felony>$200,000 >$300,000
Depending on any prior convictions on her record, the punishment level can be enhanced up accordingly. For instance, if you have a conviction for theft of $100 back in 1997 and a theft by check in 2005, the next theft (value $1-1500) becomes a state jail felony -- even if you only got caught stealing a $10 item from Wal-Mart. Convictions from other states count too.
Texas will also use other felony convictions -- no matter what type of charge the original felony was -- to sometimes enhance new felonies and they can use convictions in other states if they can get the paperwork proving the conviction on them. A state jail felony can easily become enhanced to a 3rd degree if previous convictions are there to support the enhancement.
Good info!! Not the first time I've been wrong lol won't be the last. Thanks for correcting me. Had no idea they updated the values! |

Keep filing those reports and contact Sgt. Mark Kreiger!!! Let's work together to make sure she gets the maximum penalty.
My cell is 330-937-6000. The department number is (330)425-1234. We’re still taking reports on Lydia Culp. Won’t be anything new for quite some time until this goes to court. She is still in jail. Her first court hearing won’t be for another couple of months.
Here is how it works: The case was sent down to Common Pleas in Summit County since this a multi felony case. In about 3-4 weeks we will go in front of a Grand Jury and get her indicted, in another three weeks or so the case will be assigned to a prosecutor and a judge. That’s when we will have a meeting and discuss with the prosecutor on which direction to take. She is currently cooperating so this will make it go a little faster as far as getting restitution, but once again I can’t guarantee anything. Thanks, Sgt. | Does anyone know who owns the horse VF Signed in Stone now? I'm looking at her as a broodmare. But I have to go to TN to get her from a lady named Tara. Sounds close to the stories y'all are saying now. |

That I never heard the answer to. But that is a different subject entirely. I believe that was asked about recently on Facebook. Not sure tho. Would be great to get an update on both cases tho. |

| I got scammed by Lydia as well but she used the name "Tessa Jones" then changed the Facebook page to "Jones performance horses" I reported this to the police a year ago and just heard from the detective on the case this morning. The case is wrapping up and she is going to prison! Not sure if I'll be seeing my money back but I can say I will happy to see this evil ***** where she belongs. |

What happened to the BB who was in contact with the law and had updates for us?
She disappeared...
An update would be great...
Can anyone call the detective who was working on the case to find out more? His contact info was listed here somewhere... |

Location: Willows, CA | For those who plan to get a judgment for her to pay restitution, you may have a long wait. I got a judgment in Kentucky for $5k. The guy was allowed to pay whatever he could afford to settle the judgment. As long as he sent something, he was in compliance with the court order to pay. Takes a long time get $5k out of someone when they send you $5 per month. All legal. As luck would have it, the guys family paid the judgement after a few months and I was made whole. If that had not happened I would still be waiting. |

Location: North of where I want to be | She is a special kind of low. The last I heard the total number was abouve $1million in what they could calculate over all the people who had been in touch with the Detective in OH. There is no way she is paying all of that back. She has never too. She had gotten into som e very big names in the horse industry. |
