As in just because YOU haven't heard of someone that makes them seem less. I know Marvel Murphy are we friends NO, I knew her family growing up and just to set you all straight she is a HAND on a horse and do not dismiss her. We have all got out run at jackpots and rodeos so the BS about how bad that particular rodeo wasand is ridiculous! Some of you should not be at all posting the negative comments because more than likely she'd whip the pants off you somewhere else. GEESH!!! And yes that is Marvel in the picture.
I don't think anyone is pointing fingers at any particular person. It's how A&E is portraying the rodeo world as "glamorous". Really? What is so "glamorous" about mucking stalls at 4am, clipping, washing, debeaning sheaths, dirt, blood, sweat, tears, the list can go on. AND FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE, WHY PUT A CHICK IN A BIKINI ON THE COVER? Real Cowgirls, and I shall say RODEO COWGIRLS don't show up to a rodeo in a bikini. It's truly a disgrace
Good Grief those girls wouldn't have even placed in a 4D barrel Race.....and they dare to call themselves "pros".....what a JOKE !!!!

Seems to me this is pointing fingers and exactly what I was referring to. |

I can't speak to any of these ladies on a personal level, but pretty sure Barb has made the DNCFR, and that Marvel has placed in a lot of big PRCA rodeos (know I saw her in the short round at Reno). Can you match that? |

Can you match that? Exactly, obviously there were some barrels down in those times. Geeze people just google their names if you want to know what kind of times they run. Barb West won the DNCFR and has been to the Columbia River Circuit finals quite a few times. Marvel has a pretty darn good horse and Darcy has a quite a few good horses.
Believe me I'm not defending the show but they aren't 4D barrel racers.

Can you match that? Perhaps, you should go back and read the article..........if you want to call them "professionals", then so be it.......... There are "ladies" that run AT pro rodeos and then there are LADIES who ARE professionals!

And it's called the WOMENS Pro Rodeo Association, not the LADIES Pro Rodeo Association. You don't have to be a LADY to be a professional barrel racer.

What would you call a DNCFR champion if not professional? |

Location: South Dakota | This show looks to be just plain offensive and stupid....the producers of this show need to be at the end of a letter writing campaign telling them that they are way off the mark on this... If they want to do a show on barrel racers...get it right and get it real..otherwise I'd rather watch paint dry... |

Certainly not...but in this day and age, all publicity is good publicity, good bad or otherwise. They are already a success, guarantee every one of us watches at least a few minutes of it, and we're on here discussing it and bringing attention to it so those who knew nothing about it will watch it too. Bad publicity spikes ratings just like good publicity.
That being said....i'm pretty shocked I wasn't contacted....this body in bikini going mock 10 around a set of cans would be.........something you could DEFinitely not take your eyes off of! |

Location: North Dakota | I'm sure I will watch it. I don't expect it to portray my life. I just want it to be entertaining and show some barrel racing, nice rigs, some fashion, and horses. I actually really liked the show Texas Woman. Why does everyone get so offended over a TV show? I don't think everyone that lives on the Jersey shore acts like the people on Jersey Shore. I grew up near Fargo, ND and I'm not offended by the movie Fargo. Does it accurately portray people that live in ND? No! We don't have strong accents like that or say "ay" but was the movie entertaining? Absolutely! Don't take everything so seriously! |

OH no I understand, don't worry, hon, it didn't go over my pretty little head, I just think it's ridiculous. I believe in listening to your moral compass and living by your principles, but not preaching about acting like a "lady". |
