Location: The South | Add me to the list of selfie haters. One of my friends from high school is about to get deleted. Every day it's a new one. Just because you fixed your hair and put a ton of eye make-up on doesn't mean we all need to see a picture of you! And the pouty lips, OMG. We're about to be thirty, grow up! She has three little kids, I want to ask what they think of her constant picture posting? She always edits them, they're either back and white, or sienna (or whatever it's called) how much free time do these people have? |

I agree with that 100% lol, My thought is who has time for all this ? I sure as heck don't, and if I did my selfies would probably be me with no makeup, covered in hay sweat and horse crap lol ............and who wants to see that ? |

The speed at which society has advanced technologically has made people more narcissistic & attention-craving than ever. Every time I see someone post a selfie I want to comment "Here, here is some attention...is that enough to make you feel good about yourself today?"
I really have a problem with it. Not the occasional 'new hair' or 'dressed up' or whatever, but the CONSTANT selfie-taking & posting makes me feel nothing but disdain for the selfie-taker. Feel good about yourself because you like yourself, not because other people hit a 'like' button on a stupid picture you took. Of yourself. By yourself. With no friends because you're too wrapped up in yourself to realize that other people actually physically exist in the world, not just on your facebook page.
Okay, rant over. I haven't had enough coffee today, apparently.
Couldn't agree more with what you said. As to the "selfies", I always think: Do these people look in the mirror and say to themselves "I look so awesome today I simply must share"? Or perhaps what truly drives them (which I tend to think might be more the truth) is being so insecure and so in need of attention and affirmation that maybe FB friends provide them with every "like" and positive comment. The bad part of that is what if they don't get the likes and comments......
Same thing with needing to tell the world amount their "amazing" or "awesome" boyfriend/husband, child, or horse. I love my husband, my kids, grandkids and horses but I just don't particularly feel the need to convince the world that they are totally awesome or amazing. I can say to my husband or kids in person what I need to without going through FB to do it. |

I know some people that post every toe stub and ache they feel wanting someone to comment and show them sympathy. Then I have those individuals who post constant photos of themselves. I especially love the ones that are like from high school "look at the rockin body I used to have". I had one girl who constantly posted about sickness or blah blah. Then the ex Friend who constantly posted photos of herself. I especiallly hated the ones in the car. Not only will we have laws against texting but will now need ones against selfies while driving? The last selfie I took was back in August but it was because one of my uncles made me a name tag. Apparently my cousins had forgotten I was married when they put me in their wedding program! Most of my "selfies" are with my dogs or horses lol. My favorite is my latest profile pic because my heeler's face is CLASSIC.

| Honestly If is wasnt for most of my barrel racing info such as shows, times, or any kind of that going on. I would honestly delete my facebook account. But so many organizations rely on that now to pass information. |
