Location: Midwest | Have they pursued genetic testing? I would HIGHLY recommend contacting a Pediatric Genetic Specialist and speaking with the hospital's genetic counselor regarding Chromosome analysis study, or a better option would be Microarray studies. They may be able to help determine what exactly is going on , and the best way to proceed.
Best of luck in the tough tough situation. Prayers for the baby, and I am happy to see a good update! |

Location: Midwest | I am not a doctor- but I do work in a medical lab doing genetic testing. We test a lot of newborns with similar problems, so it might be worth looking into for the family. The tests can also determine if this is heriditary from the parents, in case they plan on having more kids. It can also give the parents a "diagnosis" so they may know what to do in the future, or how similar cases are handled by doctors. Just throwing this option out there for you since I am sort of familiar with this area of medicine (the genetics).
If you have any questions, feel free to PM me. I am glad the baby is doing better and I wish them all the best. :) |
