I don't think many people share your optimism that Mexico can secure our southern border, Komet. Maybe I'm wrong, but I consider a porous southern border a threat to our national security and a very realistic potential portal of entry for terrorists. What you are saying is pure supposition. I don't feel comfortable with that.
I'm not trusting them to secure our southern border... I'm trusting them secure their Northern border as well as others... We've seen how well they can do THAT! As someone already said, they arrested a marine that accidentally crossed it with a gun. They let Latinos in their southern border and out their northern one because they are just doing what Mexicans themselves are doing.. Looking for a better life. But I very much doubt they would turn a blind eye to Muslim terrorists bent on doing harm.
Pure supposition based on conjecture. I'm not comfortable with that. That's OK....Komet. You are in good company. Obama referred to ISIS as a "junior varsity" terrorist organization, while his own defense secretary called them the biggest terrorist threat we have ever seen. I don't feel comfortable with this "disconnect". I think our southern border does offer a real opportunity for terrorists to enter this country. I'm not the only one who has this concern. Just because it hasn't been proven that they have entered via our southern border, doesn't mean they can't. These people are not dumb...they are cunning, innovative, evil, and patient. I bet some already have made it into this country this way. |

I like reading your point of view on most things, Komet. You always offer a different, well thought out perspective. But, I have to disagree with you here. I don't think the Mexicans care one bit about a person's nationality, religion or intentions. From what I have heard, it's common practice when traveling in Mexico to have something valuable to give to the Mexican police when stopped. I have heard the stories and often wondered if that Marine had known to do it, or had enough to pay them off, if we would have ever heard about it. |

NEWPORT, R.I. — If the world seems troubled by all manner of calamities these days, President Obama does not want Americans to worry too much. After all, he said Friday, “The world has always been messy”; it is just more apparent because of social media. And, he added, today’s geopolitical threats are far less perilous than those of the Cold War. http://www.nytimes.com/2014/08/30/us/politics/obama-decides-to-cut-short-trip-to-new-york-area.html?_r=0 |

It's the big down side to living in the Information Age. Every now and then, I spend a few days just hanging out and doing things at the house, riding, etc. I leave the phone in the house and don't watch the news for a few days. It is sooo peaceful! Until I find out something like there is a hurricane about to enter the gulf and I'm like "when did that happen?!?" LOL. |

Yes Bribes are a way of life in Mexico.... I wonder if the threat perspective we have been hearing about is a result of some people being apprehended in Mexico as they were headed north... Unlike some people. I don't listen to what Obozo has to say anymore... The only time I even think about him is to wonder if he wipes his mouth with toilet tissue after he gets done talking. |

Location: oklahoma | As far as targeting known terrorists and/ or associates here in the states, why don't we deport them? Our govt knows far more about people than you'd imagine. They tracked the brothers that set the bombs at the boston marathon for a few years, yet they lived off of govt welfare. The sister just got arrested for threatening to kill her boyfriends ex. It's not the blue haired little old ladies killing our Americans. The two Isis members from the u.s. That were killed in Syria last week were living with their counterparts in Minnesota. Always behind the 8 ball and that's why they keep killing our own. |

The point is our border with Mexico is miniscule compared to our border with Canada... It would be nothing for a recruiter to fly into Canada.. slip across the border and start soliciting... We have two people from there just in the last week killed fighting for ISIS. What else might come from that bunch? Sounds like ISIS has it's own recruiting ground right there in Minnesota... |

Yes, it certainly does look like Minneapolis, at least, is fertile ground for terrorist recruits. We give them homes and jobs and a sanctuary away for war torn Somalia, and this is what we get. Another group we have in abundance up here, alongside the Somalis is illegal aliens from Mexico. Interesting mix...perhaps no coincidence. It's no secret. There are many of them. |

NewsMax is running it. Says the report of 11 missing planes is probably not true. How ever two airbus 360's are missing. |
